JoeDirt asked me what style I played when I signed up for Dee-Nee, and I described myself as a curve player. A better description would be what you guys call slurve (http://dee-nee.com/rbi/glossary.shtml#SLURVE), since I'll throw curveballs, but I always get a piece of the plate.
I'm surprised more people aren't playing this way (or so it seems by reading posts). Are there more slurve players out there? Or slurve players who call themselves curve players?

Nails...when you play, are you and your opponent required to hit some part of the plate or is that just your personal style when playing curve?
It matters in the definition.
The opponent is always the computer, so there's no real requirement. I don't know anybody in my area who plays RBI. :( The only time a pitch is out of the strike zone is if I feel like doing a pitch-out (if I think the computer will attempt a steal).

Against the Computer doesn't count, I often play straight pitch against the CPU when I'm bored, basically they are determinations of how you play head to head RBI.
Yeah, that totally doesn't count. You gotta make shit up against the computer just to keep it interesting.
Ever try to play with the controller up-side-down? It's really not all that difficult after the 1st inning.

As far as slurve goes, it really only matter when you're playing head to head with a human opponent, like JoeD said.
I've been playing slurve my whole life and so has Chubbs. Slurve, by our definition, is that a pitch may be delivered from any part of the rubber and may be moved as much as the player likes.
Two rules apply. The first is the most important.
1) all pitches, if taken by the batter, must be called a strike by the umpire
->this rule can sometimes be bent. My brother does it all the time. He'll throw an inside ball but say it was hittable. A valid point (JoeD would like him, he's a fucking cheater) but a ball nonetheless and the penalty must be paid...a meatball right down the heart of the plate
2) the pitcher is not, under any circumstances, allowed to throw two changeups in a row.
->the only exception to this rule is if one changeup strikes out a batter and the pitcher wants to throw a first pitch changeup to the next batter.

BigVanilla and I usually play slurve or straight pitch...I don't think curve would be much fun while drinking. Also, I like to hit the ball more than 3 times per 9 innings. btw, this isn't an invitation for advice/criticism...just answering the question posed by Nails.
In college we played anything goes drinking rbi, and it was a lot of fun. Obviously the drinking rules were completely different, and there was less scoring, but I don't mind the occasional pitchers duel. We'd also play 3 or 5 game series though, so with only 3 pitchers going a game, we'd score some more runs.
I've always been big on the pitcher's duel. I may be alone on this, but pitching/defense is one of the things I like most about RBI.

Many people agree with you Nails....
Everyone seems to play whatever is most comfortable to them. And whatever they've been doing longest. I notice the people who starting playing heavily (not counting when they were a kid) in college and drinking was involved, prefer slurve or straight. But curve drinking can work fine like BeeJay said, with a little adjustment of the rules. Maybe 2 drinks per strikeout?
