I'm going to take a break from simulating Tecmo seasons and Do some sort of watch RBI season, shedule is done, but I haven't decided how many games against each team I'm gonna do. Basically at Lunch every day I'll launch 5 ROMs and play the games and post the results, obviously I won't have a lot of details of each game since I'll only be watching each one occasionally.
Today's Games
Cal 19 Bos 9
- Scoreless through 3 and close most of the way, Cali got 9 in the 9th to pull away.
Det 21 AL 11 (8 innings)
- Didn't see much of this game since Detroit built an early 7-1 lead and never let up.
NY 14 STL 11
- The Mets had the lead the whole game, St. Louis made it close at the end, but it wasn't enough
NL 9 Hou 8
- Back and forth NL had an early 3-0 lead that didn't hold long, Houston led 8-6 going into the bottom of the 8th, but NL got 3 in the 8th and Bedrosian shut down Hou in the 9th.
Minn 22 SF 18
- Game of the Day, SF led 10-9 after 3, and it was 17-17 in the 8th when I pulled it up and nothing was happening. (The catcher was holding the ball while a Minn had a runner on 3rs, 1st, and a guy standing just off 1st). I took control and sent the runner to 2nd, Minn got that advantage by being the road team, I had planned to throw the guy out, but instead only controlled the runner. Minn went on to get 5 more in the inning and held on.
Day 2 of the regular season
Det 18 Cali 8 (4 innings) Detroit put of 10 in the 2nd to pull ahead 12-7 then put it away in the 4th

NY (3-0) 14 AL (0-3) 10

SF (1-2) 17 Hou (1-2) 13
- SF lead from start to finish despite a few surges for Houston to keep it close
NL (3-0) 19 STL (0-3) 9 7 innings
- STL got 5 in the top of the 1st of Fernando, and the Tudor promptly gave up 5 in the bottom half (including a 2 out 3 run blast for the Big Cat). NL rolled from there.
Minn (3-0) 18 Cal (1-2) 17
Game of the day as Corbet and Moore combined to give up 8 runs in the bottom of the 9th to blow it. The only out Cali recorded in the bottom of the 9th was on the Game Winning Sacrifice Fly.
NY (4-0) 19 Cal (1-3) 18

- Boston got 4 in the top of the 9th thanks to a 2 run shot by Don Baylor to take a 3 run lead, Hrbek blasted a 3 run shot in the bottom to force extra innings. Minn got nothing in the 10th as Puckett was thrown out to end the game trying to stretch a single to a double.
I think it's interesting that even with the ability to draft the best players and leave the scrubs on the bench or off the teams, the scoring here seems to be fairly similar to the Fantasy RBI League.
I really suprised that Houston is averaging 11.75 runs/game
Been a little busy the past few days, but here's Day 5.
Bos(3-2) 14 NY(4-1) 7
-Bos hands NY their first loss, pulling ahead 6-2 before the Mets tied it at 6 in the 5th, from there Boston pulled away.
NL(4-1) 14 SF(2-3) 12
- NL got 3 in the 7th and 3 in the 8th and Bedrosian closed out a scoreless 9th for the win.
Det(4-1) 19 Minn(3-2) 15
-No big comeback for Minn here, as King came in and pitched to 1 batter, throwing 1 pitch to Hrbek with 2 on in the bottom of the 9th and getting him to line out right back to King.
Hou(3-2) 12 Cal(1-4) 11
-Hou stays in the game by scoring 1 or 2 in 5 of the first 6 innings before opening up for 4 in the 7th to take a 12-9 lead, the bullpen holds as Smith retired Downing to end the game following a 2 run blast by Potatoes.
AL(1-4) 19 STL(0-5) 18 10 innings
-AL got 5 in the bottom of the 8th off Daley, to take an 18-17 lead, STL got one back in the top of the 9th on an RBI single by Ford. After so good closer work by Henke and Worrell the game moved to the bottom of the 10th where George Brett lead off with a walkoff HR, to win the battle of the winless.
Bump for me to remember to continue this
definitely keep it up.
i am strangely fascinated by this.
Det 13 (5-1) NY 3 (4-2) (4 Inn)
- In a match up of fantasy teammates, Doyle Alexander came out top as Detroit got 7 in the first off Gooden and never looked back.
Cal 12 (2-4) STL 7 (0-6)
- The Cards continued their losing ways, fighting back from an early 5-1 deficit to take a 7-6 lead that after 4, but no runs after that for the redbirds.
Bos 16 (4-2) Hou 8 (3-3)
-Boston led from start to finish holding off a couple of runs by the scrappy Astros.
NL 17 (5-1) Minn 13 (3-3)
- Despite only 1 HR, NL was still able to score 17 runs, building a 17-9 lead after 6 and holding on.

- SF overcame 6 HRs by AL. SF scored 11 in the first 4 innings to gain a 11-8 lead, then both bullpens were solid.
Minn 14 NY 4 (3 inn)

Detroit 19 Houston 13
-Detroit got 5 in the 1st, but Houston fought back thanks to 2 Glenn Davis HRs to cut it to 10-8, but a 7th inning Grand Slam by Larry Herndon gave Detroit a 16-8 lead and put the game away.
AL 16 NL 12
-Tied 11-11 in the 8th, McGwire hit a PH 3 run blast and AL went on to win.

After a prolonged player strike, the season has resumed:
Stl 18 Det 16
- At some point STL may put some wins together if the learn to hold a lead. They score 5 in the bottom of the 1st to go up 5-0, then fall behind 7-5 by the 5th.
STL was able to stage a comeback in the bottom of the 7th with a barage of gappers scoring 7 to take a 16-12 lead finally holding a lead to nab their first win.
Bos 21 SF 20 (10 innings)
Neither starter (Krukow or Clemens) was effective as SF had a 7-5 lead after 1. And SF was up 11-10 after 4. SF up 18-16 going to the 9th until Henderson hit a PH 2 run HR to tie the game. Stanley sent the game into extras throwing a scoreless 9th. A 2-out 3 run PH HR for Armas in the top of 10 holding gave the lead, and Bo held on for the win, despite giving up 22 extra base hits.
Min 11 Hou 10
Hou broke a scoreless tie with 4 in the 3rd on back to back shots by GDavis and Bass. But Ryan finally relented giving up 3 in the 4th to let Minn back in the game. Minn got 6 in tht 6th to take a 9-7 lead, but Hou scored 3 in the bottom of the 8th to tie it at 10. But a Hrbek solo shot was enough for Minn to hold on 11-10 as Walling was thrown out to end the game trying to stretch a single into a double.
NY 13 NL 10
NY built a 7-2 lead after 3 only to have NL tie it at 8 after 8, but NY broke it open with 5 in the top of 9 off Bedrosian to win.
Ca 13 AL 10
Didn't see much of this game, AL trailed much and made a few runs but could never get over the hump.
Ca 13 NL 2
Fernando got rocked for 13 runs in 3 innings inlcude a couple of Brian Downing dingers in this slaughter.
AL 15 Bos 5 (6 inn)
AL got 5 in the bottom of 1 to jump out to a 5-0 lead and rolled on to a quick victory.
Det 28 SF 27
SF in another back and forth slug fest, certainly winning the award for most exciting games. They jumped out to a 9-1 lead after 2, finally relinquising the lead after giving up 5 in the top of 7, for Detroit's 17-15 lead. SF got 7 back in the bottom of the 7th to go back up 22-17. Of course that lead wouldn't hold as Detroit got 5 more in the top of the 8th tying the game on Chet Lemon's 2nd homer of the game. A Bob Brenly 2 run shot in the bottom of the 8th gave SF back the lead and Jose Uribe added a 2 run shot giving SF a 27-22 lead to the 9th, but back to back to back homers by Trammell, Gibson, and Evans, cut it to 27-26, 1 out later after a Nokes double, Lemon hits his 3rd HR, a 2-run shot to give Detroit a 28-27 lead, and Eric King pitched a 1-2-3 9th for a big Detroit win.
Minn 16 SL 4 (3 inn)
Minn got 3 in the first and 7 in the 2nd. A solo shot by JClark in the bottom of 2 prevented an early blowout. 6 more by Minnesota in the 3rd did end this one as STL returned to their losing ways.
NYM 18 Hou 17
Down 13-5 after 7 innings, Hou mounted a huge comeback scoring 5 in the 8th and 7 in the 9th to go up 17-15 thanks in part to going 4-4 with 2 HR from threir pinch hitters(I would swear Davey Lopes hit a PH 2 run homer when it was 13-8, but only 1 run got counted, anyone ever seen a glitch like this?) But NY would rally in the bottom of the 9th winning with a walk off by Darryl who just went back to the dugout after reaching 1st base.

I think I will officially continue this season at work during lunch now that I have virtualNES with the fast watch option.
oh, i can finally stop holding my breath. thanks man.
actually, i think this is good research. somebody's gotta do it.
Here's my excel file for the first half of the season, not much, but I need to transfer it to work, so if anyone wants to look at it
Cal 17 Bos 10
Clemens pitched a scorless 3 and Boston had a bunch of singles to jump out to a 5-0 lead after 3. Cali now has a 5 game winning streak after starting off with a bunch of tough losses.

NY 13 Stl 12 (10 innings)
Tudor pitched 4 scoreless only to be pulled for Cox who promptly gave up 3 in the 5th as the Mets tied it 3-3. It seemed that Cardinals small ball couldn't be contained (Ozzie had 3 SBs and they had 2 SFs) and just when they look like they've got the game in control Hojo hits a PH Grand slam in the 9th to tie and Gary Carter had a walk off 2 run shot in the 10th for the win.
Hou 21 NL 16
How Hou can score 21 runs is amazing, only 2 HRs (both by Gdavis), but 14 2Bs, they put the game away with 7 in the 6th.
Cal 12 Det 10
Sutton pitched 3 scoreless in the middle to open a 7-3 lead, but Det got 5 in the 8th off Corbett, then Cal got the 5 right back in the bottom half and Det could only manage 2 in the 9th of Moore

It has been determined that the season will be 36 games for each team (4 against each opponent) and the playoffs will be 2 vs 3 in best of 3. Winner plays 1 in best of 5.
I will then do a similar season with the Arcade ROM.

they must have had that pesky ground ball attribute on.
There were a few low line drives, but nothing that would have cleared an IF's reach. I know you are joking but it should be reiterated that the trajectory of a hit is random, so they must have been hitting low numbers on the RNG all inning (except for the 2 pop outs)

When the season ends and there's three teams tied for 3rd place, are you going to have one game playoffs to break the tie, base it on run differential, or go by regular season head-to-head matchups?

Post season scenarios with 1 game left. NL plays Cali and Bos plays AL. If Bos wins and Cal loses, Boston gets the third spot. If Cal wins, it gets the 2nd spot on tie breaker and Boston is eliminated on tiebreaker having gone 1-3 against both NL and Cal.
If there is any interest in seeing the games with post season implications or seeing any post season games, I will be happy to post the movies like USC does for Fantasy.
