I realize that this isn't an R.B.I. but I'm sure no one will have objections. Here is an interesting bit of baseball knowledge that I would like to pass on. I got this from the Hall OF Fame website. Hall of Fame members Larry MacPhail and Ted Williams both served in two conflicts. Below is from a special plague found in cooperstown.

Good post, sucka.
It is interesting to see that there's nobody from Vietnam. Does anyone know what Vietnam Vets played in the majors? Those guys went through a lot of shit too, but don't often get recognized because the war was so unpopular.
The only thing I can think about in regards to Veitnam was from the asshole son-of-a-bitch fuckface of a man, Tim Johnson, manager of the Blue Jays in 1998. This guy used to tell his players he saw combat in vietnam as a marine......all of it was total bullshit.

Anyways, i can't recall a player being in the vietnam war but I'll look into it
the korea war had a good lineup of players there
Does that mean the rumored founder of baseball, Abner Doubleday, is not in the HOF? I remember that he was an officer in the Civil War...
WOW!!!! Great call Gantry. I never even knew that about doubleday. I did a little research on that tidbit you threw out...turns out that you are right. I can't believe this guy is not in the hall. However, I am sure the make mention of the fact that he created the game

He certainly had quite the military career during the Civil War. Aimed the first gun at Fort Sumtner and had major roles in Antietam, Fredericksburg and Gettysburg. All this and he founded America's pastime. Should definintely be in the hall, unless there is proof he didn't invent the game...
There has been lots of controversy on whether he invented it or not. Supposedly he left something like 5 diaries behind and he didnt mention baseball once in any of them.
I have heard that it still is up in the air as to whether or not he invented the game.
I think the rumor is he may have invented the game around the 1830's. There are also reports that it was invented around the civil war.
But what do I know? Maybe George Washington invented it.
Or Al Gore...
LOL...nice one gants
