Title: Tourney Practice
Post by: JoeDirt on 01/29/05, 11:45:05 PM
Here's what I'm doing to the competition, in preparation for the National RBI Tournament in June...

dah nah.   ;)

(note: this isn't meant to taunt Ryno--whom I consider to be a good player).

I'm so fucked in this tournament it isn't even funny...

Gantry, looks like you and I are gonna get good and drunk for a couple of days.

-this isn't meant to be a knock on our fearless leader - it's just that he's a straight pitch player and will have a hard time adjusting to curve

Gantry and Mcclane = Dead Money, I'm still trying to figure out if USC fits into that category, but the plan of playing hungover leads me to believe he is.

I dunno about usc.  Me and Gantry are probably about as close to dead money as one can get.  I might surprise a couple of people but I highly doubt it.

The reason I'm not sure usc is dead money is because he put in for the full $100.  Gantry and I only did the $50...for me it was kinda like waving the white flag before the tourney even started.

Then again...

I honestly have no clue where I stand with everyone else. I don't consider online play to be a fair indiction of ability. I'll probably get smoked, but anytime I've played against anyone live lately, I've done pretty well.

Bandur recently beat me 2-0 in a best-of-three game series.  This hasn't happened in over three years, so I know he's ready.  He only lives a mile from me, so we'll be practicing at least weekly until the tourney.  Classes and the job search are what keep us from practicing daily.

If you want other competition when you're in town, send me a message, of course at this point I'm not certain how much competition I'll give you.

Also boys, read over the team selection rules bc they are a bit different than that of the COTUT.

We'll surely get together after graduation.
