Do I only see ONE lefty on your team Baines?  And said lefty on your bench?  Be very glad it's right down the middle instead of outside pitches...

That being said, good pop from the starting lineup...

I just noticed that.  I've never really paid alot of attention to L/R handedness but I would have liked to mix it up a little more with the starters.  It should help with 3 coming off the bench though.  But yeah, I definitely like the power in this lineup.  I was off to a good start with speed too from Davis, Baylor and Burks but it went downhill from there.

And G, we are playing movement on the mound is allowed.  There is just no left/right pushing during the pitch.

Who is Baines' lefty?  Brett hits from the right side.

They're all on the bench, and there's actually three of them:  Bass, Mookie, Dykstra.

My guess is that he will never play.  Note that Mattingly is on the bench (and Joe is a Yankees fan, so it's not like he's actually going to bench him) - my guess is that Joe will have Mattingly PH for Franco the first time through the lineup, getting the 64-point power boost that first time up.  Frankly, I'm surprised more of you didn't think of this.

No doubt that I missed it...  Would have definitely took a flyer on more lefties then, but it's my own fault that I cannot read...

I gotta say I'm very excited about this league, so much so that I'm at work right now building a new online server.  Brand new Dell Poweredge with plenty of processor and RAM.  If this doesn't help lag, the we know for sure the T1 line is at fault...

We're still missing two line ups.  Let's go, people.  The ROM can't be made without 'em.

How are we doing this season?  Schedules, divisions, etc?

I move for a weekly schedule with no dates.  The teams have the week to complete games scheduled for that week.  It'd also be a big plus (as far as ease of schedule completion goes) to allow for games of any given week to be played out of order.

For example, say I am scheduled to play Gantry, Ryno, and Lips in week one.  I just need to get with those three anytime that week and complete the games...whenever we can get ir done.

How is it possible that somebody with such love and devotion to the game of RBI can see a bench of Bass, Mookie, and Dykstra and count that as one lefty?  Let's go people, pay attention.

How are we doing this season?  Schedules, divisions, etc?

I would like to set it up like the following:

I will come up with a weekly schedule and send out Monday morning.
For example, for week 1 joedirt vs Baines, ryno vs Gantry, lips vs noah, and stock vs Nails.
That means, each of these matchups will have 1 week to get together for a 3 game series.  It when finished, it will be their responsibility to record 1. Score, 2. Innings, and 3. homerun hitters for each game.
If all series get done (say in 4 days), we can dive right into the next week, and so on.
After 7 weeks, top 4 will advance to the playoffs.  1st round will be a best of 5 series, and finals will be a best of 7 series.
Details such as playoff seeding and tie breaker rules to follow.....

Don't want to make this more complicated than it has to be.

I will get back on Monday.  I'm hosting a Superbowl party today, so won't be back 'till morning.

Also, I'm assuming we use all pitchers, correct?  Just to clarify...

Works for me.

Joe just to let you know my schedule I'm pretty much around most evenings after 7 or all day Tuesday but most Thursdays suck.

I may need someone to work with me the first time getting it set up to play online because I haven't done it yet.

The most recently updated ROMs will ALWAYS be posted in the "Str8 Pitch League Consolidated Details" thread.  I will always modify it so they are in the first post.

He also got mugged on his way to the team bus.  He did not even see it coming as his head was hanging low after adding his 4th of 4 pinch hit ground outs after the series with Lips.

During the mugging he was hit in his left knee with a 2X4 ruducing his speed rating from a blazing 118 to 112.

In a press conference he mentioned that he hopes to make a full recovery, and is confident some team will pick him up looking for some more power on their bench.  He also mentioned the possibility of going to Japan to play baseball so he could hit 90 home runs per season, and build his confidence for the next RBI season.

Title: Re: Straight League Line Ups

I think Krukow would be better in curve than straight pitch.  But since knuckle balls are allowed, he can dominate.
Title: Re: Straight League Line Ups
Post by: Ryno23 on 02/16/05, 04:15:54 PM
Krukow's problem is that his speed variation is not so good.

'nando combats this by being left handed.  I also think that nando throws the ball more outside than any pitcher.
