Okay, so I just stumbled upon this tonight and haven't found the answer anywhere. On the NES version, an error made by a fielder has been given at least two names on this board a bling or a bop. Well, we called the doinks, but that is besides the point.
Is there rationale behind why/when they happen? I've read about groundball attributes and the like, but the doink has gone unexplained as far as I can tell.
Thanks and I'm a real life Kirby fan who was happier than hell that he was acquitted today!
One thing I know for sure is that you are more likely to BOP if you hit the button at the same time you actually come in contact with the ball, grounder or flyball....
We also have the theory that pitchers BOP more than regular players, but have no proof of it....
Some also say that substitutes hitters/fielders BOP more, but that also is unproven...
