Hello all RBI'ers, It has been 31 days since my last post.
I was playing RBI yesterday when I thought about a new topic. I always use HOUSTON when playing the computer and realized that Mike Scott hits the hell out the ball when needed. Since I was home sick from work yesterday, I decided to play with the Stros in the 9-game season, for the 50th time (I think). Anyway, back to the subject, I noticed that some pitchers have a nice cut at the ball, while others, totally suck. Who do you think is the best hitting pitcher?
For me, I would have to choose M. Scott, but Doc Gooden came in a close 2nd.
Note: I only listed the pitchers that actually hit it out of the infield yesterday.
Yeah Murph, this topic has come up before. Many fellow RBIers believe that all pitchers are created equal (hittiing that is). Personally, I've found Don Robinson to be the best. He won't hit any deep flies, but he hits it hard.--Lots of line drives--no dying cows.
I'm a big fan of Rogerto. Clemens, that is. I've hitten a ball to just before the warning track with him once before, awhile back. Plus he's good for those squeakers down the third base line.
I do believe that all pitchers have the same abilities, but for whatever reason, I seem to get a couple of hits every time with Sutton. He never lets me down when I'm playing the computer, especially.
I agree with EricDavisFan. For me, Don Sutton has always seemed to get more hits than any other pitcher. In our pursuit of the dream of a pitcher homerun, we play that all pitches to the opposing pitcher must be regular pitches straight down the middle. Sutton has come close to jacking it a few times, landing it on the line just in front of the wall. In general, the California pitchers seem to make up for their lack of pitching ability by hitting decently every now and then.
My views on the subject can be found here (http://forums.dee-nee.com/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=404) ;)

I definitely believe that all pitchers are created the same as far as batting goes . . . but, for some reason when I'm batting with Fernando on the NL stars, I feel confident that I can get a hit almost every time. I've hit several almost wallzies with him. The ball disappears very low on the wall and just foul.
I too know in my heart that all pitchers are the same, but I keep convincing myself that Danny Cox is the best. He just keeps on getting hits for me, tough many are dribblers or BOPs...
The real best hitting pitcher is any righty up when there's a left-hander on the mound. They hit the ball WAY further...
I just edited the poll to include "None"
Danny Cox ?! I dunno about him, but I did get a triple with Tudor the other night ...

I disagree with almost all of you... In our third annual clasic we held with 10 guys, Nolan Ryan hit a Walk off home run threw the left feild wall to win the tournament with 2 outs in the 9th! that was the the hardest moment of my life. i couldnt believe what i had just given up!
Nolan Ryan haunts my dreams... he is the best hitting pitcher
Jimmy Key took me deep. Through the wall. But anyway
I believe that all pitchers are created equal at the mound. I have found though that the better i am pitching with them the better they hit. Nolan Ryan pitched a 3 hit shut out for me and had maybe the single greatest offensive game from a pitcher ever. 4-4 (3 singles and a double) with 4 runs and 3 RBIs.
That last post i meant all pitchers are created equal at the plate.
And Jimmy Keys dinger broke up a perfect game in the 3rd against me. I planned on using John Tudor for the complete game but after that i had to go change my pants and couldnt get myself to play for a long time.
