I am officially retiring from straight pitch after this league is over. I am to the point where I can see it affecting my anything goes career, and that can't happen. I played my good buddy Riley the other day and noticed my pitch selection was partly a function of my straight game. Anything goes is my money maker and I cannot--will not--allow it to be taken over by some part time hobby.
I decided to announce this midseason so I could make the rounds to each ballpark one last time--like they all do.
Today...day...day, I consider myself...self...self the luckiest man...man...man... on the face of the earth...earth...earth...
Fare thee well JoeD...
pussy
I knew you'd say something stupid like that. Recall that I traditionally did and still do beat you about 24 out of every 25 times we play.

are we still on for the occasional anything goes practice match?
always. especially once tourney time gets closer!
Is "retiring from straight pitch" the same thing as when Elton John got married to a woman back in the 1980s?

memememememememe!!!!
original RBI only.
how do you propose we do this?
seed the teams according to their rankings then have a random drawing to see who gets what team?
or just set a random bracket and let the players pick what team they get?
either way would be fun.

I'm always up for an ass-kicking. ;)
i'd suggest same way we do the straight tourney...isn't it fun to draft your team? perhaps if we get enough players, we could even do some sort of keeper league where you get to protect a few of your current players?

i like that idea.
like a tournament season??
word.
anybody also up for a "one or two 2 Arcade Version per team" rule?
The draft is almost the best part. Keeper league is not a bad idea, as i'd love to keep Gooden. I wouldn't be adverse to introducing 1 or 2 arcade players into the mix either.
I'm in for the anything goes tourney, pretty sure OctogenerianFranco would be as well...We both have cable modems
JoeDirt...I just PMed you. Is 9pm CST (30 minutes from now) good? I'll be back then.
Yeah...that's right about now...IM me again when ready.
