This is the true story of last night's RBI contest. So I'm playing v. ChiliDogDavis (he who corrected the facts of my last recollection) in a heated pitchers duel. Interesting side note - our fridge and cupboards had been rendered barren by an intense pool party that took place Saturday, in which I very nearly managed to tear ChiliDogDavis's ACL while wrestling grecodrunken style in the aforementioned (baby)pool. Despite our lack of nutricious liquids, ChiliDog felt the pavlovian urge to sip his dietcherry7up in the proportions dictated by the dee-nee rules during our sober matchup. Back to the glitch. As I said it was a pitcher's duel, 4-4 in the bottom of the 9th. Bases empty and none other than Vince Coleman at the plate. He wacks a grounder between the 3baseman and the bag and the ball gets stuck in the glitch position against the wall about 20rbifeet short of the left field foul pole. That is glitch one. I am celebrating rounding second when suddenly ChiliDog is able to pick up the ball - that should never happen. That is glitch 2. So then I am cussing because I'm about to get gunned down going into thrid when, glitch 3, the left fielder chucks the ball into the stands! Coleman crosses home as ChiliDog punches me in the throat. Holy Crap, 3 for 1 game winning glitch! F me in the B that was amazing. If only we had been tanked as to screw up the details. Has anyone else pulled anything of this magnitude? Emanski rulez!
yeah, the cpu did that against me. i hit it along the third base wall, fair of course. the cpu got the ball and was too close to it and the ball went straight up on their throw the first time and dropped right back to the same guy. they try to throw again and the ball bounces up into the stands. same thing as you, eh? i took a screen cap of the ball in the stands. easiest inside the park homerun i ever had.

Throwing into the stands - A common mistake for newbies, a fielder too close to the stands will have their throw end up there. It is possible to go back into the stands and retrieve the ball for most errant throws, but it takes so long that an inside-the-park homer usually comes out of it
