Title: Complete game with Charlie Kerfeld!
Post by: TempoGL on 05/01/05, 02:35:39 PM
I just pitched a complete game, six-hitter against Nacho with Charlie Kerfeld.  He went 7 2/3 with Ken "I Can't Believe Baines Forgets I'm in RBI" Dayley.  Using relievers as starters is cool!  I won, 2-1, by the way.

Are you guys allowed to swing when you play?

curve pitch, two worst offensive teams in the game.  'nuff said.

Forgiveness in advance if I sound like an ass, but if you guys can't muster more than 3 total runs off Dayley/Kerfield pitching for the entire game then you need to work on your offense.  Now of course I probably couldn't it in curve pitch, but some of the purists on here aren't going to be too impressed with that showing...

Kerfeld has shown that he has heart, I'll have to keep that in mind...

we're about to play, NY vs SF.  i'll let you know how our offense does this time.

The previous game was a 2-1, 16 inning marathon.

I can't imagine being held to 1 for a complete game using St. Louis against Kerfeld, Nacho must really have his timing off

well, this time our super-charged offenses combined for seven runs.  I won, 4-3.

We then play straight pitch for the first time ever.  Something must be wrong.  Nacho won, 9-4.  I had a total of FOUR hits.  He had 20.  Straight pitch seems boring.

I was on the phone for one inning in which the heart of my lineup was up, so that was distracting.  I just couldn't get my tactics of Vince/Ozzie slapping it to the left side going for some reason.

i played in a 14 inning affair in curve style recently with HOU.  my opponent was STL.  Nolan Ryan gave me 9 innings, and Kerfeld game me another 5.  had i not botched the double play in the top of the 14th, it would been the 3rd out.  But instead with 2 down and a man on 2nd, pena hit a single to the wall and drove in the only run of the game and i lose 1-0.  >:(

i was also in a 11 inning game where I was BOS playin NY last weekend and won 2-0 on a walk off HR by henderson or rice, cant remember which one.  theres some luck involved to have such low scores, but also a ton of making some seriously good pitches at the right times.

Damn straight.  The straight pitch style players just don't know what goes into a well-pitched game.

After 2, maybe 3 innings, Kerfeld should have been throwing beach balls. . . .  .either a ball. . . . or a homer.

Kerfeld should be banned from RBI for 50 games. . .. . sumbitch is on 'roids. . ... . .
