Rafael Santana Level - 0
Al Pedrique Level - 50
Dan Gladden Level - 100
Denny Walling Level - 250
Willie McGee Level - 500
Lou Whitaker Level - 800
Gary Gaetti Level - 1200
Chili Davis Level - 2000
Jim Rice Level - 3000
Reggie Jackson - 5000
So I get bumped back down to Jim Rice again
Yup, it's always easier the second time though...
this is kind of like the "B" scale.
Here I come ET, here I come...
I think Gantry keeps moving Reggie Jackson level up so he's the only one there.
he and fknmclane
They're in on it together.
They don't want me to be part of their cool club. Well screw them, I'm starting my own levels.
From now on, I'm on Roy Smalley level
if you are going to add a guy for the NL, why not also the AL? Might I recommend Jose Canseco? He can go between Chili and hjose rice
I'd like a more extensive level system. Maybe something that incorporates all of the players in the game. The reggie jackson level should be super high, so everyone has something to strive for.
The key is not to be debatable. I'd love to add another 5 players an really beef up the levels, making potatoes 10,000 posts or something. It's hard to have this many guys where most will agree that the guy above is better than the guy below..
For Strassy's example - you say put Canseco before Rice. I think Canseco is definitely better than Rice, so it's debatable which level is better. Either that or I'm over thinking things...
I think you should keep adding names to the list. Some people might debate it, but it's really not that big of a deal and it's your site, so I think you have the final say. It would be really cool to have a ton of players on there (Oquendo, Orosoco, Berenguer and Willfong come to mind for me) and to have Reggie be a huge accomplishment. Then again, 5,000 posts is a lot.
Kevin McReynolds level at 20,000 posts.
wumpst level at 1,000,000 posts.

I like the sound of that.
Let's see, Gantry has about 2,000 posts per year so it would only take about 500 more years to reach 1,000,000.

Yes, but Ryno will be there by 2007

cool---it's something to look forward to.
I think maybe adding a few pitchers is an easy answer. Perhaps "Calvin Schraldi level" after Santana, an average pitcher in the middle and Bert Blyleven level near the top....

I like that idea! Maybe Saberhagen or Sutcliff for an "average" pitcher.

Cool
Bucky Walters Level - 10,000
I think that anyone who has never posted, or has only posted once, should be at their own level of shittiness. I was looking at the list of members, and cannot believe how many of the 490 members have 0 or 1 post.
Maybe they could be at Pettis level (since I know how much Gantry hates him).
Or, maybe this would be more appropriately Wumpst level.
I don't think they are wumpst-worthy
Who is an average non-all star pitcher? will likely be easier to relate?
Blyleven Level or Nolan Ryan Level or Roger Clemens Level? Before or after Jim Rice?

I think Reuschel would fall b/w Blylevn and Schraldi. I would say Krukow is a good pick, though some might argue he is better than Blyleven. (On a Personal note, I think Moore is bar far the worst pitcher on the game.)
Still no love for the all-stars??
I think Frank Viola is pretty average or either of the Angels SPs.
EDIT:
I'm taking a liking to a Don Sutton, man perm level
I'd like to see a Bonn argh baseball pirate level. Maybe 6K posts.
all posters with an average daily post rate of 30 or more should be at "ryno" level.. . . . . . .
all posters with an average daily post rate of 30 or more should be held for evaluation...
I think we need a MR RBI level

that should be the first level... its def worse than Rafael Santana..

That's what Rafael Santana level is for - as bad as Spike is, Santana is worse.
i have colected a hit with basically every other player in the damn game while playing ATG besides owen. o-fer whatever. and as far as my strategy goes, spkie will see an at bat or 2 for me to start every game as i wait for the 1st pitcher to start to peter out a bit before i decided to bring in the PH'ers.
damn you spike owen. >:( damn you
spike owen is awesome. if i could get my posting level permanently changed to "Spike Owen Level" I would do so in a heartbeat.
so gantry...any chance of my posting level being permanently changed to "Spike Owen Level"?
and Krukow for a great pitcher!

geez, everytime I get to Gaetti ("The Rat") level, I get bumped
So i'm get moved down to jim rice. I see how it is. Well time to go to Rynospeed. AWAY!!.......
I say--at least change 1 post to "wumpst".
That's all he'll ever have
Wumpst may have only made one post on his own, but there's a little wumpst in every post
Well stated
There should be some standard of measurement for posts/day. Ryno would be some freakish RBI character that we don't even know about. Like Reggie Jackson cubed. Or Jesus.
he's more like the fan that gets bonked by a foul ball down the line
Hey Gantry, I like when you change the posting levels to keep up with the times, but is there any way you could consider changing how many replies it takes to make a topic HOT? Maybe 50 replies gets a yellow and 100 gets a red, idk. Just think there are too many topics that are considered HOT...
Thanks,
OJ

I didn't even know that there was a hot topic graphic that popped up. Is it really dark with fake goth kids hanging out inside it?

That's crazy talk. I think a "Most beloved Dee-Nee'er" level would work better for you.
And possibly a "No alliances" level for Baines.
If only one exception is to be made my vote goes for the Baine's No Alliances level.
Al Pedrique here we come :P

I would delete all my posts and never post again if it was Henderson, so that's not fair.
Darrel Evans should have a level.
Redid the posting levels, the "Not Funny" level starts around 10,330 posts and Reggie Jackson was boosted up to 12,000 posts. This was done after a 2-year research project on posting trends, paradigms and proactive levels. Enjoy!
Good, I don't want to be Reggie Jackson
Gantry definitely is funny..I've never stayed at Reggie Jackson for more than a few weeks...
Bumpst for Chab.
What are the current posting levels?
http://forums.dee-nee.com/index.php?action=mlist;sort=posts;start=0
that will give you a good idea of the break points
Wow, 49 members with over 1000 posts, and that doesn't include deleted accounts
That is pretty impressive, who will be lucky #50?

I can just take a break from posting for a while.
I am quite impressed im 33 and i realized i have been here almost a year. boy time flies.

gantry, we need new posting levels. I think Reggie Jackson needs to be upped to 25,000.
and i personally like Jim Rice better than Darrell Evans, so we need to switch those up as well. Thanks, Champ!
Upped the higher levels, Jackson at 25k, evans 18k
I need someone between Whitaker (4k) and Blyleven (10k) - give me an idea
I don't see someone for Houston.
How about
Ryan -10K
Blyleven -7K
Whitaker -4K
do most people by and large think ryan is better than bert blyleven?
Bdawk level should be the best
