Other than being the best bunter in the game, Sweet Lou sucks my ass.
Discuss.
boo! you take that back!
I think Sweet Lou would be one of the top players on just about any other team. Personally, I never take the guy out of the lineup.
I don't take him out (usually) either, but he just doesn't have the homerun power I like out of a 7 hitter. I think he comes up small in clutch situations and if he does hit one out, it just barely goes out. I think hs should be a much better hitter than he really is.
Wow
a bad comment about Sweet Lou. Well for me he wont do good unless it's a clutch situation then he comes through with a big homerun or double that scores everyone.
I've always been a fan of Sweet Lou, I consider him the best #7 hitter in the game. He's not a world beater, but gets the job done and should always stay in...
whoa... what is this insanity. you have obviously lost your mind if you would ever even freaking consider taking sweet lou out. his numbers may not show it but he will come through in the clutch 99% of the time. we should start a poll or something to settle this.
Lou Whitaker still sucks...

No shit, what the fuck was Gantry thinking
Sweet Lou Whitaker is the Man, end of story.
I'll pitch to Lou Whitaker every time.
Worst hitter in that lineup.. and even worse... a lefty.
Whitaker is the worst hitter in that lineup, but that is the best lineup in the game, and Whitaker is the best worst hitter of any lineup there is. So I say Whitaker is still a stud. You know a lineup is dangerous when their worst hitter can send one out more than occasionally, and he has good speed to stretch doubles into triples. Not bad at all.
Sometimes I'll take out Lou late in a game (when that happens), I, and I'm sure everyone here could beat any other team in 2-3 innings by the 10 run rule using the Tigers. Sometimes I let the computer score though, so the game goes on, then I take him out later.
He did get screwed out of the Hall of Fame though, think he only got 5% of the votes his first time, and dropped off the ballot for eternity (at least so far). I think you need at least 15% to stay on. Trammell is still "alive" but his chances aren't that great. Especially in 2007 with Gwynn/Ripken & possibly McGwire.
Whitaker hits pretty good on RBI 2, he's got his 28 homers and a decent average, I think he led Detroit in hr's in '89, when they didn't hit that many. I think Fred Lynn is next with 11 homers, see what I mean.
I started quite a controversy there...

Still trying to understand why Gantry had his head up his ass here.

He ran out of dildos?
I have no explanation for that, in fact I have Chili as the best #7 hitter in our Rankings Page (http://dee-nee.com/rbi/rankings.shtml).
Another daily dose of hypocrisy from your friend Gantry
I feel like the more I know about Gantry, the less I know.
You just blew my mind...
Unfortunately it was only your mind this time...
:-* :-*
Wow
I feel uncomfortable with this thread. Can we go ahead and delete it?
Aaand we're locked...
More lies from a liar.
Go play in traffic
Stop lying so much. It's all I ask. Have some goddamned integrity you piece of shit.
I'm sorry I love you so much.
Is this fight over? Not sure if I should laugh or cry
He's sleeping on Kane's floor Saturday night after they do it. Should probably cry...then get yourself tested.

I'm curious why Andre Dawson didn't make anyone's top ten players...

They pretty much never use the All-Star teams - you'll notice that they also have the teams ranked 1-8, rather than 1-10.

Man, that was tough to figure out Nacho. Should Beefmaster grade all your papers for you too?
starting a union for dumb dumbs imo

Whitaker retired in '95 and hit 14 homers that season. Trammell played in '96, and not very good (or much), but it was his 20th season, Whitaker played 19.
I was saying if Lou played one more season he might still be on the ballots. They were the longest running and best double play combo ever.
If they played in the Tinker/Evers/Chance era they'd get in first ballot.

They also never would have played together.
