I DID IT!!!

Last night against my daughter, I had Hou and she had NL, and Dave Smith pitched the whole game with 27 K's, it was awesome, I don't know if I'll ever do it again.

On a side note it was a terrible game by my daughter, she wouldn't swing at most pitches, and she never even subbed for Pedrique, but oh well, a perfect game is a perfect game.

The worst part about throwing a perfecto against your little one is that they get the ultimate revenge and make a terribly stinky mess in their pants.  You may get to throw the perfect game but they still get to shit their pants and watch you clean it up.

I think I made my point, one that has been made plenty of times.  Pitching a perfect game against a human is not really a measureable accomplishment because it is heavily dependent on your level of competition.

I've played against some people I know I could have thrown a perfect game against, but I chose not to.

I threw a perfect game in RBI 3 with Boston (RBI Boston), against a guy that's decent at RBI 3 and excellent at Madden/MVP.

OctoFranco no hit me (should have been perfect, but he hit a guy early in the game when I still had hope), and I think I'm decent at RBI, just ask Rob Conzelman.

I also had a no hitter with no strikeouts through seven against Steve Katz in C-Bus.

Hey all, first post.  :)

Found this site after browsing the internet looking for some other styles that people play RBI with. Read this thread and thought I'd let MR RBI know that his feat isn't the be all end all. I've never played online but I consider myself a very good player. I've notched two perfect games, both against players who in their own right are probably better than average. I've also chalked up many no hitters during my RBI career. In every instance that I've done something out of the norm I've never rubbed it in or have been belittling.

On a side note, I was playing my brother last week, I'm on a 5 week vacation and we've been playing a ton of RBI, anyways......we were playing and I had a No hitter for 8 2/3 in the bottom of the ninth. I was california and he was the AL. I usually pitch pretty good, but once I got to the 7th I thought I had a legit shot at a No hitter. Well guess what? I breeze through the first two outs and that brought up Tom Henke. My brother was out of hitters by this time and I thought I'd get the no-no for sure. Hell no doubts even. Freaking Tom Henke blooped one over my pitchers head for a single. Talk about being pissed off. I was kicking myself in the ass for not just bringing in a new pitcher but all I had left was Don Sutton, and as a rule of thumb I don't use 2 starting pitchers in the same game. I let my brother do what he wants in that regard but I don't use 2 SP because I feel it's more realistic as well as more of a challenge.

Damnit Tom Henke...... ;)

why is that?

First post here, but I'm not new to message boards in general. I actually co-owned a site that was fairly busy. Grew from a handful of members to [at it's height] around 2500+ posts a day. So yeah I've been around message boards for about 5 years now. I actually was just a browser here, got a huge kick out of the team breakdowns. Wasn't going to post anything until I read this thread actually.

No way MR RBI could put together more than one sentence with such good grammar and spelling, plus Sarc's post was not annoying.  We should welcome him rather than try to scare him off.

Nice perfect game story, by the way.

Heh...yeah I gathered MR RBI wasn't very well liked..

This guy is nothing compared to the total jagoffs I've encountered over the years though. I really wasn't suprised that someone thought I was this guy though. Happens a lot on message boards, usually only the staff/mods can tell people apart with IP checks etc...

Yeah you got me there. I've been around message boards for awhile, yet all of the emoticons are different. I'm used to Php or snowboards as the platform so this is very different than what I am used to. I did some browsing looking for a welcome new users thread but didn't see one. Didn't look to hard though.

Because I hate using the "quote" feature. I'd much rather put it in Italics. Just a personal preference of mine. I'm used to Snowboards or Php themed boards. It wasn't available at most snowboard type sites until just recently and I really hated seeing shit like this:

Yeah can't argue with that. It's more of a habit/personal preference anymore. I don't mind if it's one quote or so, but I always thought it was ridiculous whenever I saw people "quote" 5 boxes worth, something like that. I generally only quote people or reply if it's on the same page which is why I rarely if ever use the actual quote feature.

On a side note I just did something playing RBI that I didn't even think was possible. I went Yard with Ozzie.......TWICE in one game. Okay so it was straight pitch, but shit I didn't even think it was possible. My brother was ready to start breaking shit after the first homer, let alone the second one. I don't see that happening again anytime soon.

I usually play against my brother if we have the time. I can't talk a whole lot of people into playing anything on my old game systems. Sure the graphics suck but the gameplay is what I like. My Brother is actually fairly decent but I win a good majority of the games. Probably 7 out of 10 or so. We play anything goes but as a rule of thumb I don't use my second starting pitcher, though I let whomever I'm playing do whatever they want. It makes me better overall I think if I don't get to rely on the second starter, plus to me it's more realistic, especially if you're playing a series. Also now it's just habit not to use the other starter.

Oh I'm definitely considering it. I just haven't had much of a chance to browse those threads and get the full scoop. The only tournament I've really looked into was the one in Des Planes, Illinois in '08. I live in Iowa City so it's definitely within driving distance. I like RBI don't get me wrong, but not enough to drive a long distance.  ;)

I usually stay away from the Online RBI forums, but I got bored and decided to read this thread.  Ult's mocking of MR RBI in the form of his 'throwing a perfect game against his daughter' is hilarious.

On another note, Strassy once threw a perfect game against me.  I think I was either high or on mushrooms back when I was 19.

I returned the favor a mere 5 years later (somewhat) by tossing a perfect game against him through nine during our marathon (though the game when into extras so it really doesn't count).

Found it sir..
