Title: Nightwulf RBI Editor 2
Post by: TommyD (MrOJ) on 06/09/05, 10:52:56 AM
Hey wulf,

Is it possible to have 2 roms saved at the same time (or 3-4 for that matter)?  Whenever i save one, it just saves over the other one.  And yes, I am changing the file name.

It's possible to have as many as you want. If you're opening the editor in multiple windows at once, don't, as this will cause funny things to happen with your filenames.

I was about to ask a similar question as OJ.  The Editor does the same damn thing to me.

Im no Nightwulf (or anyone else who is amazing with computers), but here is what I do now.  I dont even save it to my login name anymore.  I go to the website, and don't even log in.  I go straight to load, and upload the ROM from my PC in a folder I made for all my ROMs.  I browse, find it and edit it.  Then, instead of saving it, I just download it.  Works faster if you asked me.

Actually, that's what I normally do.  Just the fact that most of my ROM projects are only done half-assed and never finished kind of irritates me.

Same here.  Under "My ROMs", it always only lists the most recent one I saved.  The others are gone forever  :'(

Not a big deal though, as I just save them to my own ROM folder on my PC.

Not anymore. I'm dying to know how these ROMs are getting lost.

Well if you die after figuring it out, who is going to be there to fix it?

Not to tell you how to debug your emulator or anything, but I suggestion an alternatie course of action...

When I save one and check the box to share it, it never shows up in the shared files.

Actually, I do the same thing quite a bit. The original editor required logging in and "saving" a ROM upon uploading, and I thought that was a hassle. Being able to upload and work with a ROM "anonymously" works well for me too.

I'll check it out a bit later. What username are you using?

Thanks Nightwulf!!  There are ROMs showing up now I never even knew I created.  I will have to clean this list up.

My saved ROMs are gone again in the editor.  It is only showing the most recently saved ROM.
Not that big of a deal, but thought I would let you know that this problem has risen from the dead

I think this is fixed now. Simple stupid logic problem on my part ... 'and' and 'or' all look alike at 5am. Let me know if it happens again.

MrOrangeJuice: I may have accidentally clobbered your password. There's a one (or a lowercase L) in the encrypted password, and I may have mixed it up. Yet another reason not to work on the editor at 5am. Let me know if you can't log in, and I'll fix it.

It seems to work now, Wulf... but there's a new hitch: where's the roms that can be edited by other users?

Wulf... one more question...

A guy in the league said he had a power outage in the middle of a game that shut his computer off.  Is it at all possible that would reset the game??  We take screenshots at the end of the game, so this guy totally screwed it.  I actually saw the video he sent me, which showed the screen go blank just as he grounded it to the shortstop, but this is what i dont understand.  He made an error, so i dont think he would have quit the game.  On the video, the guys computer goes blank after the error is made, but his opponent said the game reset.  Could that trigger it in any way on FCE?

Uh, they're back. Note to self: glance at the source of tools you wrote months ago to remember how they work ...

It could I guess. I don't really know what FCEU's netserver does on disconnect or network errors.

If one person ever has trouble with a locked up PC or rebooting computer online, make sure the other player saves the state.  You can then have everyone get out, reconnect and load the state.  Back in business...
