Title: Curve vs. Straight
Post by: Big Apple RBI Champ on 06/24/02, 08:30:09 AM
I'd appreciate it if someone would comment on the straight pitch vs. curve pitch.  I have previously asked, but forgot what section I asked the question in.  It just seems like straight pitch is HR derby and therefore a game of luck.

Am I missing something?  I really like the pitching aspect of the game- hooks are great.

Thanks guys.

We always play curves unless we are playing the atari version because it tough to hit on that machine and there isnt a lot of room. Im used to straight pitch and it is more challenging and keeps the games low scoring. One thing i dont like about straight pitch is if u play on the arcade version and are up against New York, it is almost impossible to win.  You have to throw a strike and maris, mantle, ruth, gherig, and dimaggio hit homers every time.

sounds like we have some good trash talking going on in Manhattan.  We never play straight pitch, it would really be disrespectful to a pitcher like Fernando Valenzuela or Bob Stanley who have great movement.

freddy v has great movement to both sides of the plate... bob stanley has movement to the right...  he is effective but nowhere near as dominant as freddy.    compared to schiraldi though, he is cy young.
