Okay, guys, I'm really fkn tired, so I have to give you a abridged version of the tourney championship.
The championship match up was yours truly (Dirt) and Riley. Since it was double elimination and Riley hadn't yet lost a series and Dirt had, Dirt had to beat Riley in two 7 game series to win; Riley had to win either of two 7 game series to win.
So here's how it played out:
Series One Game One
Riley (Am) 1
Dirt (Na) 0
Series: Riley 1-0.
Series One Game Two
Riley (Dt) 1
Dirt (Bo) 3
Series: 1-1
Series One Game Three
Riley (Ca) 1
Dirt (Sf) 3
Series: Dirt 2-1
Series One Game Four
Riley (Sl) 0
Dirt (Ny) 2
Series: Dirt 3-1
Series One Game Five
Riley (Na) 3
Dirt (Am) 4
Series: Dirt wins series, 4-1.
By this time, we were both drained. But in the name of Malnuboy, we marched on...
Series Two Game One
Riley (Na) 0
Dirt (Am) 1
Series: Dirt 1-0
Series Two Game Two
Riley (Bo) 2
Dirt (Dt) 0
Series: 1-1
Series Two Game Three
Riley (Sf) 3
Dirt (Ca) 6
Series: Dirt 2-1
Series Two Game Four
Riley (Sl) 5
Dirt (Mn) 3
Series: 2-2
Series Two Game Five
Riley (Am) 6
Dirt (Na) 2
Series: Riley 3-2
Series Two Game Six
Riley (Dt) 2
Dirt (Bo) 5
Series: 3-3
...and so we go to a game seven to decide the series. Riley is Ca, I am Sf. Both of us are completely drained at this point--I was playing my 22nd RBI game of the day and 30th of the tournament...
Score 0-0 after 4. Bottom 5, Riley strings a few singles together to take the 1-0 lead.
Top 6, Dirt strings a few singles and a sac fly together to tie it up at 1-1.
After 7...1-1.
After 8...1-1.
After 9...1-1.
After 10...1-1.
After 11...1-1.
Bottom of 12...Dirt has Robinson in, throwing 30 mph fastballs. Riley gets two on and two out...1st and 2nd, Rupperto at the plate...full count....single to right center to win the game/series/tournament.
Dah fkn Nah.
All in all, it was a great weekend. Thanks to everybody for coming out. I will fill out a completed bracket and post it for you guys sometime soon...too tired now.
Also, congrats to GDavis for finishing in the money at 4th place and Mike Beales for finishing 3rd...
A winner is all, though--'cause it was a great time.
The real winner is JoeDirt...thanks for allowing me to give Riley $100 running the tournament
wow, dude. that's is incredible. . .12 fkn innings.
I cannot wait til next year. I will be there. I will finish dead last.
I had a blast.
Also, on a personal note, I feel like I defended my street cred a lil, 'cause it took a hit when I finished 4th in the COTUT (mostly bc Ult is an ahole)...although I didn't win, I think toward the end of that 7th game--either one of us could have won. I just wasn't the one who actually did this time...but I think it was fitting for a match up btwn Riley and I to play out in such a manner...
It's what the hometown fans wanted to see.
riley needs to post more. being the national RBI champ means jack schit unless you participate on the greatest fkn place on the web.

Awesome finish. Thanks for the updates. Congrats to the new RBI king.
JoeDirt, tough luck. Man, that was a long day for you, 10:30am until 12:30 at night. That sure is a lot of RBI.
But yeah...thanks for putting this whole tourney together. A great time had by all.
Attez...thanks for the cheapie hotel rate (even though I didn't give Gantry any money yet) and for involving a stripper into this weekend.
Gantry...thanks for grabbing my ass, when dropping us off at the airport.
Wumpst...thanks for showing up and being you.
Malnu...thanks for the classic Ric Flair impersonations. WOOOOOoooOOOOOoo!!
MikeD...thanks for encouraging my drunken dick ways. And thanks for the crabs. How do I get rid of these things?
TBT...thanks no thanks for the multiple soiled underwear sightings.
Maggie...thanks for the good times.
Baines...thanks for starting our tourneys on a fun note. Beer is the answer to everything.
rdub...thanks for your soul. If you ever want it back... Nevermind, who the hell am I kidding?
GDavis...thanks for the Quote of the Weekend - I'm sure it's butchered: "The winner of this tournament is gonna get lots (tons) of pussy."
Fknmclane...thanks for relieving me of my teabag duties.
The "other" Floods...thanks for the barrel moment at Brothers.
Nightwulf...thanks for teaching us the ways of Steak 'n Shake. Damn Lime Freeze Hater!
Fightonusc...thanks for finding a bar that had "the fight". Oh whoops. By the way, Gatti got destroyed.
SmokedUBad13/Beales and Bandur...thanks for coming out on Saturday night. It was really a fun time.
Trevor Martin...Tequila on the rocks? You're a brave man.
Conzelman...thanks for the entertainment.
Steve Katz...The New Jersey Cowboy. Will he ever read this?
Is there anyone else?
Oh yeah, Riley...thanks for the ass whooping. And congratulations.
I hope that covers everyone...if not, then I'm a total asshole.
Ok...it's now time to go hide under a rock for 2 months, you fat HOOOOoooOOooOOOOOOooooooKERS!!!!!!!!
Fuck, I forgot...
I need to bump my post count upto 1000, so rdub will trust me.
Maybe I could rent Ryno for a couple hours.
Man, what a series! Too bad I missed the end. Congrats to Riley, and thanks to all for coming out. It was one hell of a time....
I'd post more, but it's time to go home. Then go right to work. Dah Nah! I need to figure out a way to live on the Internet forever...
To quote GDavis - IFF
Congrats to Riley! I knew JoeD would do well though.
Hope I can make it next year. Looks like I may be fighting Ryno for last place!

Other places?
I assume Beales got 3rd? Who got 4th-?

No, it was a gapper that was went to the wall...I don't believe I even had time to chase it down, as Riley had a guy on second with two outs (so he was running on contact).
I was lucky in the first place to have somehow gotten to two outs in that inning...believe it or not, I got Riley on a SO in that inning. It's funny how pitchers get some movement back after they are totally and completely void of any attributes.
Great series...and congrats to Riley.

It's in another thread somewhere, but yeah--Beales got 3rd and GDavis finished 4th.
A special congrats to Lips, who somehow managed to make it to day two (only six players advance to Sunday's games). Remember, Lips isn't an ATG player...I was very impressed.
Also, a special congrats to GDavis, who lost his first round match up of the day--it's very tough to run through the entire loser's bracket...but he still managed to fight his way to 4th place.
Also, a special congrats to TBT, who was the one to beat the mighty GDavis...that was an impressive feat.
Wow! To have the tourney come down to that was amazing and congrats to Joe Dirt and the winner Riley.
Here's the official tourney bracket--also found on the site at:

I'm not sure who this Brad Bell character is, but I beat TBT after beating CurtFlood. I then lost to GDavis in 5.
fixed. sorry about that...

Nice work forcing 5 games against the eventual 4th place finisher, considering you never played curve before.
Even better work getting your ass handed to you by a guy who lost 12-5 to GDavis in one game.
Nice work Joe D, and thanks for the hospitality on Sunday, I was pulling for you.
Congrats to Riley, the two of you definitly should have come to Larrys.
congrats to me for actually winning one game against Katz.
Thanks malnu...I have a feeling that the fact that Riley and I didn't go to Larry's helped determine us as the final two players...
Just like to point out that I beat the shit out of Steve Katz, then lost to Bandur in the full five games.
In the five game series that I and NOT steve katz played against Bandur I hit a walk off two run home run with Willie McGee in the bottom of the 19th inning to beat Bandur as Hou.

WOW! This is the first time I heard of this.... How long did that game take to play?

Really, really long time. Probably about 40 minutes, Trevor Martin saw much of it, and Bandur and I pretty much chatted through the entire thing.
Dayley went 5 IP plus 2 batters for me, Tudor went about 8, Worrell went 2, and Cox went the remaining four.
Nolan went a full 9 for Bandur, and I know Mike Scott pitched the final six or seven, not sure about the middle.
He walked Jack Clark and Willie made him pay. Funny thing is, before the game Bandur is quoted as saying "Great, this thing will go 19 innings"...Since it was game 4 and I was down 2-1, I almost had him convinced in the 15th that if it goes 18 we simply count it as two games and winner take all, we had both been pretty burnt out and we had late games and were simply hoping it to end so we could head to Larry's.

Boo yah!
katz here....just saying it was humbling to lose...it hurts a little bit to think the "shit" was beat out of me. but it warms my heart to know that the rbi subculture is alive and well. if "well" is a term marked by gluttony and debauchery, based on what i've read here.
not to worry, this nj cowboy will ride again...i need to tweak my game a bit, stay a litttle bit more focused. i suppose it wasn't the best idea to hole up in the cross-country inn getting stoned before some serious rbi. live and learn. and then drive 10 hours.
I would just like to say that "nice gaetti" is one of the better RBIer-based usernames on this site. Well done.
From a post of mine from the other thread.
QuoteTrevor Martin was fucking awesome, as was Steve Katz.

haha. I just got this--brillant. Great combo of RBI and Reservoir Dogs!
you got it dirt, "nice-guy eddie." that's me. too bad nice guy's don't make it out of round 2. i played more like "shit lemon"
Too bad I missed ya Katz, hope to see you at the next tourney. Keep on posting in the meantime...
Nah, I thought you played pretty well. I beat you what, 3-2 and 3-1? In a 3 game series, it isn't always "best player wins."
