thought id break down the cats I played over there. I will also say that my level of chatter/excitement, or whatever is usually dictated a lot by my opponent and how jovial they seem.
GDavis is all business...however dont sell him short, he'll drop some hilarity on your ass from time to time. I still got no clue how i beat him. this mofo could pitch with the best of em. I believe my 1 sp background in ATG and the fact that i could just not get the damn bat on the ball for shit caused me to go into "take" mode. all i can figure is that i ended up keeping the bat on the shoulder enuf to tire his guys out till late in the final 2 games, where i got some huge ass homers. he missed on his share of close pitches so i got lucky there on quite a few occasions. Attebozzal watcxhed the series and commented that even though i struck out a lot, i would take anywhere from 5-7 pitchers for Gdavis to get a K.
He crushed me with BOS, and I was DET in game 1. I was up 3-0 in the 4th, but the flood gates soon opened for him. Props to Malnu for putting the jinx down...he said he had some questions about my managerial decisions, and low and behold i got some game winning shots by Spillman, and Sullivan(vs mclane) both shots were of the non-PH variety! Gdavis was a class act and classy oponent, a hand shake after everygame. once the series with Matt was over i has basically exhausted physically and shaking and shit....there was some serious pressure involved here :P
Lips is a wildman! i once again was DET and got hammer by BOS. :( the following 2 games were just awesome finishes. We were both pumped up as we played....definatley loud and rowdy on both parts. Lips got a homer in like the 10th or something and i forgot it was the top half so i congradulated him, then realized i still get to bat. :o so with 2 outs and 2 strikes and joyner and reggie on base, KK Downing blasts a 3 run shot for the win...i was jumping around and screaming and dancing like a little bitch. Game 3 was brutal, i might have been the victim of 4 bops total, and they were costly as i think they all resulted in runs being scored, but Lips came thru with a 2 out single to right in the bottom of the 9th for the win. it was a battle that i had came back from being down 2-0 going into the top of the 9th. me and lips gave each other a very large "man-hug" when it was over and decided that that was the greatest 3 game series ever fkn played.....end of story.
Mclane was a cool opponent cause we were both facing elimination, and we were probably both exhausted from tons of rbi play in very short amount of time. we just bullshitted the whole series, and had a good time. i won game 1 with BOS 4-3...thanks to the sullivan non PH homer, then couldnt get the job done with pitching in the next 2 games. Dah-Nah. If i gotta go out, mclanes a great guy to drop out against....it was a cool, non pressure situation and i just went out and played ball the best i could. mclane menbtioned that i was his favorite opponent cause there wasnt a lot of tension in the air, and we werent all up tight.
lips and mclane were tough for me to beat since my batting stinks sometimes, and they tend to challenge you more with stuff over the plate so you gotta be up there hacking away, which kinda kept me from taking a lot of pitches. i didnt really realize this at the time, so i clearly put myself into some bad situations late in games.
im off to spend the next year in some serious RBI study and i'll be back to slaughter the faithful next year. All you bitchezz are fkn toast next year.
TBT.
I love it. I'm so glad you are so excited to dig deep into the game!

Well, I guess based off our little 10 minute conversation i showed yah that im a student of the game as far as tecmo bowl is concerned, so i got a bunch of idea's in my head for rbi(mostly pitching wise, but in tecmo bowl, my strategies are usually 75% defensive based, so its the same principle!).....the thing with these simple games i've found, is to figure out the hidden complexities of them, and master those areas...then you fkn blow your opponents away with a fury of mastery that they have no answer for.
so yeah, what you said...thanks for PM. I'm all on that advice. basically what it seems you do is shorten the area your batter works with, and thus makes things not exactly easier for you, but tougher for the pitcher. in theroy, good things come to those who wait.
If Columbus can unite TBT and JoeDirt, I say it can do anything.
My opponent were Steve Katz and Trevor Martin, I really did try to beat them, I took one came against Katz where I choose NY and the Doc took a 1 hitter into the 7th only to allow 3 runs in the 7th, I still pulled out the victory.
I don't think either opponent was a fan of my loud yelling and general hijinx, especially Martin when I fielded a Ozzie Smith grounder with my pitcher, then ran it to first looking at Martin yelling "lets see who's faster". Keep in mind I was down three runs at the time so it wasn't some cocky move or anything, I was just having some fun.
Attezzeboli hates cock(iness).

This made me laugh
This will come out as cocky, but in one game against Katz, I forget who I was, but I took a no hitter into the 6th inning...and, what's more amazing, I had ZERO strikeouts throughout the no hitter.
