got my main tecmo bowl adversary to square off in some all out rbi play. nate's never really played too much, but i schooled him best i could on strategy and stuff. nates definately got some skills and hes persistent as usual. he didnt win a single game today, but came very close about a 1/3 of the time. the capper was a 2-1 CAL over SF game where i had to ralley in the top of the 9th to pull it out. very demoralizing for the natester, cause he had a string of about 3 games in a row coming very close to winning.
i picked up a few things from today, cause the guys around here dont ever seem to have time for 2 player games. i probably refined my pitching quite a bit, since the computer is very little help to play against.
Nice work, 7 hours is a lot of practice...
back in the day Nate and I would burn thru 10-15 non-stop games of tecmo bowl in a night. so this is nothing new for us, just finally getting him hooked on rbi. my tecmo friends dont do rbi, and the rbi guys dont do tecmo bowl. fkn dilema :( obviously its not a perfect world.
That seems odd. I'd have to say that Tecmo Bowl/Tecmo Super Bowl and RBI are my favorite video games of all time. I would think that if you love one, you love the other.
There are a lot of parallels in my book, especially with the gameplay/skill/strategy. Get those fuckers on the straight and narrow TBT...
the rbi guys Chad/Brian are pretty much solely into TSB(which i dont even bother to recognise as a legit game)
as for the tecmo bowl crew, Nate is just coming around to rbi, and theres Jeff(who will play both games but isnt exactly a world beater at either, but has his moments) and lastly Eric who i dont think likes baseball, so hence forth rbi interests him none.
I have the most fun playing Nate in TB anyways, so if i can further extend that rivalry and get him into some full time RBI play then all will be well. I think Nate and I were put on this planet for the sole purpose of being nintendo sports game opponents and thats about it.

TSB, in my opinion, is damn near as good as RBI.
I know it got more "group" play from my high school years all the way through college.
I also enjoy RBI 2 and 3.
