Today's RBI Baseball Link of the Day is a literary piece. St. Louis bench player John "Blank" Morris wrote a book on his experiences in baseball (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1888698209/qid=/sr=/ref=cm_lm_asin/102-4760893-2588165?v=glance). It includes 22 short stories, a forward by RBI's own Willie McGee and generally favorable reviews. It should be an essential addition to any RBI collection...
And while you have Blank on the brain, be sure an check out his impressive RBIdb page (http://dee-nee.com/wiki/index.php/John_Morris). Thanks to ShitPaw for the link, db page and idea for putting this up. While you are in the area, peruse the St. Louis page (http://dee-nee.com/rbi/stlouis.shtml) for stats, strategy and lineup tips.
Booyah! Just bought a copy for $1.07 via amazon's used book service. Of course it cost $3.50 to ship a $1 book but still a bargain...
Though I got the primo deal, they have copies available for $1.08 - I expect another Dee-Nee member to purchase the John Morris book...
I bought one, I was nervous going with the cheepest one thinking some guy probaly gizzed all over it or some shit, so I bought a three dollar copy. Since I cannot buy just one thing when I shop on Amazon I also picked up a few CD's.
I'm happy with this purchase because I always feel left out when people are talking old baseball storys and shit, perhaps after reading this I will now have something to add.
