Title: latest house games.
Post by: TbT on 08/14/05, 08:09:15 AM
played 3 last night and i demolished the natester.

won game 1 with CAL over SF.  10-0 in about 6 innings.  had a good night from pettis 2-2 with 2 runs.

Game 2(same teams) had back to back jacks by joyner and jackson, then nates shortstop makes a bop on the next hit ball....the comedy of errors ensues.  i pitched a 2 hitter this game with leonard going deep on me.  i win 8-1.

game 3 CAL vs DET.  determined to beat Cal, nate goes with DET.  Pettis leads off with a fly ball to CF which gets bopped for a double.  ;D    if i remember right cinco-de-mayo(decinces then hits a 2-run shot).  tRAMMEL TIES IT UP FOR NATE WITH A 2 RUN SHot of his own, but more errors and a 3 run hr by schofield prompt nate to turn off the nes after about 5 innings.

a winner is me.  didnt tape these so we didnt have the best detailed accounts.

my batting has been insane lately.  im getting very hard to strike out, and seem to kill any mistakes left over the plate.  as for pitching, im at the point in my rbi carreer where i just need to play a gazzillion games and have every pitcher's ability in memory.  im getting pretty familiar with pitchers across the board but need to start taking notes as I play.

Nice work TBT...  Also don't forget to look at the team pages online to see who has what curve rating.  Even if you can't remember them all right away (being a straight pitch player, I sure as shit dont'), try to remember the best starter/closer on each team.  That's a good way to start...

TBT, why was pettis playing for you? especially against SF, you need Wilfong leading off - he destroys right handed pitching.

I played 1 straight pitch game Friday and won with CA over SF 10-0 in 3. I was playing a fairly new RBI gamer, but was concerned when we were scoreless after 2. I put up a 10 spot (6 HRs) in the third to take it.

wilfong rocks for sure...probably one of my favorite PH guys, but I'll always give a pettis an at bat for the hell of it.  he's become my 1 exception to the rule.  lately he's been clutch.

im guy who bats better lefty batter vs lefty pitcher, as opposed to facing the opposite side pitcher, so match-up can also dictate who goes where.  against SF im likely to pull out pettis anf insert hendrick for the righty vs righty.

Gantry i printed those off before the tourney and came up with some rotations based off of them.  I need to review them more often, but im trying to learn all the pitchers in's and out's by memory cause in those tourneys i dont wanna need to fumble for paperwork and stuff.

Im at the point of playing now where i just need to put in a good 300 games between now and the cotut and I'll be nmore than ready.  its like tecmo bowl....you can learn all the crap about the game, but it takes those 100 games or so down in the trenches to really master that game.

I played a douchebag the other night, he played himself in a two player game and was up 16-0 after the first, I took over in the second, and by the third it was 19-16, than my girlfriend called so I handed it to a friend who took until the fifth to slaughter him (He had the bases loaded and WClark up when I gave it to him).

Man, I miss OctoFranco (FOUR MORE DAYS!!!)
