Title: MY FIRST PERFECT GAME!!
Post by: DamnTheCowboys on 08/26/05, 04:37:18 PM
A couple hours ago I wrote......

I am so pissed off right now.   I was one out away from perfection  against the damn computer.   For some reason I cannot close the deal.   Who comes up?  Jeff Reardon.   I am nervous as hell.  I throw him a slow pitch that is fouled, barely.   Next pitch is a ball.  Next pitch Reardon shoots between first and second, and my second baseman cannot field the ball in time.  It trickled into right field and I almost picked the 8 bit system up and raped it I was so pissed off.   Next hitter, Gladden, hits one right back to Nolan Ryan.   SON OF A BITCH I had the perfect game in the bag.   Go to hell, Jeff Reardon.  GO TO HELL.

Got it!!! Finally!!

And get this....I was jogging in place the whole game!!

There were no close calls in this one.. and get this...

I got my revenge on that fukker Reardon.   He came on in the top of the ninth and we rocked his ass for 8 runs to make it 9-0.   Nolan Ryan even collected an RBI single of Reardon.

The stage was set for the ninth.   Laudner lined out to Walling, Roy Smalley came in for Lombardozzi and grounded to Doran.

Reardon came up.  It was ON.

Reardon fouled off the first pitch just like in the last game.  Ryan fell behind 2-1 and then Reardon popped out up along first base.   I was still jogging and it was hard to track the ball, but I had Davis going back and I was yelling, "Don't drop the damn ball!!!!"

He caught it!   I pumped my fist and yelled, "YYEYAHHH!!! TAKE THAT REARDON!!!"

and this scene ensued:

He had 18 Ks in the game.    I'm going to have 9 beers tonight in honor of the 9-0 no-hitter. 8)

I don't think I'll ever stop chuckling from this sentence.

How does a PITCHER get an opposite field hit against you? You have played this game before, right?

The computer got pissed.   That's all I can say.   It was one of those things where the second baseman moves on his own and you can't control him.  He waddled over and couldn't field it.  The computer was pissed off and wanted to rub it in at all costs.  Well, the computer paid for that bullshit hit when i got back at Reardon later to complete the no-no.

Your first post in this thread is an example of why I like this site.  That was a thing of beauty.

I must ask, why were you jogging in place for the whole game?

It's something I just started to do!   It's good exercize.  You should try it....play about two full games takes around 30 minutes...so that's a good 30 minute jog in place!

I pitched another perfect game today...WITH an asterisk.

I was using Roger Clemens vs. Houston.   In the fifth, Mike Scott hit a grounder to third.  Boggs booted it!  Of course this is counted as a hit due to the programming glitch, so I got pissed off and purposely threw the ball against the wall and tagged out Scott as he went to third.   So technically there were still no hits.   I cheated, but I was just trying to see what WOULD have happened if not for that bullshit boot.

Sure enough, CLemens retired the rest for the 27 up 27 down perfect game.   Of course I won't count it since I cheated, but still....

actually it would only be a no hitter since scott reached 1B saftly and was out advancing.  That does not count as a perfect game.

Perfect games are generally SO perfect that they need no asterisk.  Oh yeah, and what erhajj said.
