I'm going to start digging a bomb shelter today, just in case the Cubs and Red Sox reach the World Series. We've discussed it before, but I think armageddon is on its way if those two teams make it to the Series together.
Was it just me or did Derek Lowe benefit from the world's most liberal strike zone? And does Manny get plunked in his first at-bat against the A's next year?
First of all great site... first time visitor.
And yes Manny gets drilled next year, early and often.
Cubs over BoSox in 6.
It was an awesome game today, we should have won it. I have to say I was impressed by the Marlins, but if we get 4 games out of Wood/Pryor we will win...
Pudge is clutch, no doubt about that...
Interesting add-on to the armageddon theme: Ahnuld won the election. My buddy pointed out to me that in the movie Demolition Man, Ahnuld is the president. This is starting to get crazy. I'm not sure what any of what I just wrote has to do with anything but what the hell.
Another point with Arnold is that both he and Jessie Ventura were in The Predator. If Carl Weathers runs for office anywhere, he's a shoo-in!
Good times in Chicago right now with the Cubbies - Jason/Vit is right, nothing beats the MLB playoffs. Restored my passion for baseball, which I lost about 10 years ago...
Piss poor Gantry, shame on you! You correctly pointed out that both Governators costarred in the predator, I cannot fault you fact finding, BUT THAT IS THE WRONG REFERENCE! The predator should be a secondary fact when considering that both Jessie Ventura and Ahhhhnold were first together in THE RUNNING MAN! I consider it the greatest Arnold film, possibly because it has Richard Dawson in it and begins with some guy named Chico getting his head blown off Pizza-man bomb-collar style.
I did indeed forget about the Running Man, though it's been ages since I've seen it. Richard Dawson would make a fine governor, assuming he can get off the sauce...
As for the greatest Arnold movie, nothing comes close to Commando...
Commando had the best combination of senseless killing, unreasonably evil bad guys who are out of shape, cliched one-liners, a main characters named Matrix, Tommy Chong's daughter, and budding starlet (Milano) I have ever seen.
9 / 10
I always liked Jingle All The Way. Sinbad cracks me up.
That post made me double-check the banned-list for Sinbad. He's there, phew!
You also banned Dom Deluise. That's like banning Burt Reynolds by association. Cannonball Run II was on point, despite the fact that Deluise and Danza are in it.
I haven't seen CB Run II, but the Dommer and Tony Danza makes it a pretty sure bet that I will never...
Check out the cast and tell me that you aren't just a little curious:

CBII was almost as bad as it's competitor "Speed Zone." Check it out.
Bringing this back to baseball, I said it yesterday to my friends when the Yankees were down 1-0, playing Boston just about clinches them a world series berth.
Sorry underdog lovers.
Mike
I'm not so sure the Yankees clinched a Series berth but I do think they'll make it.
As for Game 3, what does everyone think? I'm of the opinion that Pedro's tired and the Yankees haven't let him beat them since the Clemens/Pedro duel in 1999 where Trot went yard in the eighth. Yankees victory. No one else will agree but it's gonna happen. When it does, the Series berth is definitely clinched.
All Clemens, all RBI, all day... Time to show the young whippersnappers what an RBI legend is worth!
