Anyone here have a way that we could get an RBI Baseball ringtone workin. Let me know Id use it forever.
I just submitted one to 3gupload.com. Hopefully it will be on there within a day or so.
It's on there finally and I put it on my phone today. Sounds good. When they said 24 hours they must have meant 24 days but at least it's on there now.
It's listed with the title as "RBI Baseball bases empty music" and the artist as Harry Spilman.
That is fucking sweet. I put it on mine and it rang in the office, one guy actually recognized it. So now that I have found a fellow RBI fan, we are scheming to play RBI somehow during office hours.

What a way to make the day go by... that would be great
If I have enough time sometimes I get to fire up FCE Ultra here at work and play a game or two, but just against the computer. Still, getting paid for RBI isn't too bad. I love tech jobs.
Same here. I play at lunch and after work. We came up with a new form of knock-out. Loser gets the winning team & winner picks a new team. I like this way, because we tend to pick the same teams & I never get to play certain teams.
Also to stay on topic, I have the RBI theme go on for my digital camera.
Dah Nah! 3gupload doesn't seem to support the old-ass Nokia 3390 phone I have. I know nothing about ringtones, are they usually sent to you over the phone? Can you get a PC cable for most phones and download the midi file directly?
Normally they are sent to you as some form of text message, I believe. However, with the 3390 I think you can use Composer and figure out the notes. If I don't have any more work in an hour or two I will try to do it (we have one around here somewhere).
Never used composer, thanks for the tip. Though it might take all day for me to figure this out. I'll give it a whirl though...
The way I get mine is to put them in my 3gupload locker and then access them from the internet on my phone. Of course you have to have the internet on your phone to do this. When I got this phone I got 2 months free internet so I basically have used it to fill up the entire memory with ringtones and pics.

Uh, for us dumb fuckin' dummies who don't know how to use 3gupload, can you post the ringtone here and if so, is it possible to put it on a phone from here?
:-\
I thnink most phones have to send the ringtone to you via the phone itself. Or make the ringtone yourself which is what defen was talking about. What kind of phone do you have?
I have an audiovox cdm8900 with verizon wireless service. but i dont believe it has internet access--does that matter?
doesn't support my Kyocera SE47 phone, either (AKA "the slider")
Now that I have my new Treo 650, I'll have to get the RBI theme on there. I can play mp3s as ringers with this phone, so it should be relatively easy...
I recently switched my ringer from the rbi theme to the Russian Red Army Choir singing their national anthem. I don't have a clue what they're saying but it's awesome anyway.
Gerlost can probably help you out with that...

I love that scene in The Hunt for Red October. Probably my favorite in the whole movie, even over the "the God damn cook" line.
I haven't seen Rocky IV in a while, but the Soviet National Anthem was playing when Drago was coming to the ring, or it played while they were standing in the ring together, or something like that.
The Cagey Bees have a song about Drago vs Rocky. I need to do the vocals soon.
EDIT: Also, is your ringtone the Russian national anthem or the old Soviet anthem?
It's the Soviet anthem. I'm not even sure what the modern Russian anthem is.
Russian. Soviet. Whatever, they're still just a buch of commie pinko bastards.
Am I able to get the RBI ringtone if I don't have internet on my phone?
It depends on what kind of phone you have and your service provider.
I have cingular, and a Nokia phone. Don't know the model number off hand, but I bought it last June.
Hmm, on my old Cingular you could have ring tones text messaged to your phone. There's sites out there that will let you test your phone for free and then charge you like 5 dollars a year to get as many as you want. I know someone made the RBI tone for one of these sites, but I'm not sure which thread it's under.
EDIT: I meant nokia phone, but I did have Cingular service.
You can compose your own ringtones too on certain phones too. I found a site that has instructions for the RBI ringtone, but don't remember what it was. You can google (http://www.google.com) it.
I never quite figured out how to work the "composer" on the phone anyways...
Being probably the most musically declined person on earth, I am sure there is no way I could figure out the composer.
I am good at listening to music however.

If I remember correctly, you just follow the instructions and press a number on the keypad. But I had problems with changing pitch (hitting a key twice or something would change the pitch)... I don't remember why, but it wouldn't work on my phone. Bascially, it's something anyone can do if you have the patience (and a working phone).
Bump... for me...
I actually found this from google, not from the Dee-Nee search. Kinda funny...
and apparently that site is defunct...
I wouldn't even have a clue now about how to do the stuff I was talking about on the first page.
Nowadays, assuming most everybody's phones have a USB or some way to hook up to a computer, I'd suggest downloading it from the Dee-Nee media page (http://dee-nee.com/rbi/media.shtml) and just transferring to a phone that way.
Yeah just download the mp3s from the media page from your phone browser. Use the short version for text messages...
Success!
If anyone's looking to make mp3's into iphone ringtones, this guide (http://www.pcworld.com/article/156234/Turn_Any_MP3_into_an_iPhone_Ringtone.html?tk=rss_howto) is pretty useful.
It can't natively play mp3s as ringtones? Weak...
