I was playing the 2k5 RBI ROM, Minnesota v. Yanks, and hit a hard grounder to NY's first-baseman. BOP! He muffs the pick-up and the ball ricochets to a place in front of him. Right away he starts moving toward where the ball now lies. At first, I'd thought that I'd caught a break and was gonna have a man on for sure because of this error, but then I see that he's comin' up on the ball pretty quickly. Suddenly, I'm thinking, "Oh, hell. He might actually pick it up and touch base before my slow ass gets there." Anyway, the first-baseman's JUST about to scoop it up off the ground when...ta-da!...he runs right past it, instead! Turns out the AI had assigned the outfielder to get it, instead. By the time that'd happened, I was on third.
Ok. Maybe you had to be there. Maybe you have been...

Yeah that is a weird play, I cannot figure out why the RF gets assigned to field that ball.
I have never seen that, and now twice in a week...
That play happened a few times during the Fantasy RBI season. I usually mentioned it in the game recaps that the first baseman was struck by a line drive and knocked silly.
