I know it's pretty early for this, but I wanted to get a jump on it in case I have to code a bunch of stuff...

What do you guys think about having the entire draft pool available next year?  To save from having stacked teams, we'd need to put a salary on each player and setup a salary cap so that you could draft who you want but you'd have a limit of what you could do...

The problem with that scenario is that we would need a consistent formula for how to apply salaries, and determine what's an appropriate cap.

I'd like to get some of your feedback on this...if you don't like the salary cap method, then we need to discuss other ideas...mainly if we don't restrict it, we can't have the entire player pool available because there are just too many guys to choose from and everyone would have superstars...my biggest concern for whatever idea we use is we don't have teams that are super stacked...so if we can come up with a system that addresses that, I'm all ears...

Discuss.

Great idea!

You'd have to have a cap though - every team needs a few of the shittier guys on it.

Yeah I think a salary cap is viable, but then it becomes a huge deal to rate every players subjective salary based on RBI gameplay effectiveness. Might be better to stick with the players from existing/chosen teams, as I don't think its a huge deal that Pujols isnt in this league.

I'm having fun with the guys I got, so as long as you draft to your style of play then the names of the guys really don't matter. Besides, they're all pudgy vanilla wafers anyway.

Could also include a different set of teams than the ones that are included to change things up. Thanks for the feedback.

The other thought is that stacked trams might make ATG style more explosive.

I think it would be a good idea to play with stacked teams.  ATG's style is dominated by pitchers and a little more offense could make it more interesting.  As it is right now, more than half the teams in the league have sub .200 batting averages.

Turd

Yes, this is true. What if we just gave every team power points and speed points to spend and people could choose to spend them how they wish. We could still cap it high so we get more offense.

I like the cap idea or just randomly choose another set of teams to draft from next season and continue doing that until all teams have been used before a teams players can be eligible again for drafting.

Why don't you guys do an auction?

anyone ever notice that if you drop a deuce on someones windshield in sub-freezing temperatures, its pretty damn hard to get off once it freezes.
