clyon's 2k3 emulator can double as a time machine...it brought me back today to a night in early september, a few years ago...pedro martinez, on the mound against thte yanks....has  good couple innings of ball, then gives up a homer to RBI legend, chili davis....he thusly turns on the afterburners and strikes out 17 yanks to win the game in yankee stadium 1-0....a masterpiece and the best performance i myself have ever seen...

until today....

pedro, back in yankee stadium, against roger clemens....one ups himself....using my strikeout technique....and a pantload of grit....pedro sets a new strikeout record....a major league record 21 strikeouts.....

in 7 innings.....

21 in a row.....

and quite frankly,  i think he can do it everytime out....the sox win 11-4 in 9.... (my pen isnt good, just like real life, and i suck at fielding without a controller)...

this brings me to another question, is it possible to construct something in the rom programs to keep stats at all?...even game to game?...i have no idea what that would entail, but i think it would be cool if it were possible....alright then...keep on truckin

No feasible way to keep stats in the game, other than keeping box score yourself.

As for the feat, I once had 7 innings of no hitter in the original rom with Mike Scott against a friend (curve pitching). It's easily my best pitching performance.

I agree that you might be able to do it with Pedro everytime. He's a bit ungodly.

aiiiiiiigght....i was just wondering about htat...i remember in my more ambitious years, i once started a "season" with the tigers and played each team 3 times you know...all road games...and kept stats, for my team...for about 45 games...then got quite tired of it....but it is a good idea...

yes...pedro is the man....but i also struck out the first 17 with maddux....i cant wait till i have a controller so i can mercy the comp....and not let them score...

For the 2k3 league, we will be keeping team stats for all teams during the season. the easiest way is to take a snap at the end of the game, and just add up the numbers later.
