Can we get a sticky for this?
The rules and regulations.
This thread will be open for ballots cast for the nes RBI players from all 10 teams until 12 AM monday january 29th 2007. You are allowed to vote for your top 6 RBI'ers. The vote will include a points scale which is as follows.
1st selection is worth 6 points
2nd selection is worth 5 points
3rd selection is worth 4 points....and so on and so forth through the 6 selections. Please list your top candidate as #1, and 2nd candidate as #2. For ease just copy and paste my top 6, then change the player names to fit your list.
This will be the 1st ballot and the players with the top 4 number of votes will all be inducted into the Dee-Nee Hall of RBI fame. Im hoping to get ballots from at least 30-35 Dee-nee'ers here but definitley want more, so rock the vote people.
You can create your list anyway you see fit, but please NO Joke lists like rapheal santana and periq. Any style of play can be taken into consideration such as anything goes, straight pitch, or slurve, and also 1 or 2 starting pitcher games. There are plenty of angles you can take to create your list. A players performance for you, or his impact on his team based on his spot in the order, or which side he bats from in relation to his team. Player ratings can be used, or those bench guys that play a key role. And dont forget about those nasty starters and key set up men that get you through the meat of the order in crucial situations.
February 1st will be the official induction day for the 4 RBI'ers who are elected. Im pushing for another ballot in mid-late july. We will also have to decide on a cap or total number of players who can get in. possibly 20.
I'll start off with my 6 selection.

regardless of who you or i or anyone else for that matter selects, i think once its all said and done we'll all
pretty much agree on the top 15 or so that make the HOF. With a lot of people selecting so far this will all even out. im certain baylor will get in sooner or later.

Attez is right on. 1 point isnt gonna screw up anything at this phase. Puckett sees better pitches than the others top 5 batters when i play MIN. If this happens to Attez then maybe Pucket plays a big role in creating some runs when he uses MIN.
I got no problem with an occasional seemingly odd selection as the last pick. I think they are kind of interesting to see whos a family member or whatever gantry calls it.

lefty sidearmer. probably just a rarity.
Anyone putting a relief pitcher on their list is also making a mockery of the HOF, how can we expect people to take us seriously

thats a good point because they play a smaller role than most anyone else, but i stand by my pick of wilie hernandez. *edit* Now that ive thought about it for a while, o think i stand behind my pick even more. unlike real baseball, in RBI a guy like Dayley, Hernandez, or Orosco can easily play in every game that you use those teams. Orosco is my starter almost 90% of the time. Hernandez is almost always my 2nd guy to come in regardless of my opponent. To me those 2 are staples in my rotation when using NY and DET.
Hernandez and Tim McKyer of SF Tecmo Bowl fame is a bastard who riddles my exsistence to this day. Those 2 are in a daily car crash in the epicenter of my brain, and thers nothing i can do about it.
