Time to start another one:
Which NES RBIer is credited with this quote:
"I didn't come to New York to be a star. I brought my own star with me"
sounds like reggie jackson.
Sounds like Don Mattingly
Willie Randolph
Reggie is correct
I am the smartest man alive.
This NES RBIer's best season was far and away 1979 when he hit .313 for the Twins with 419 ABs. He got 300 or more ABs only 3 other times in his career never hitting over .250 in any of those seasons and had 3 other seasons of hitting under .220 (all had at least 200 ABs).
His RBI year was his last "full" season as he retired in 1987 after playing in only 2 games with the SF Giants.
Youngblood
Dean?
Don Mattingly

Dean Youngblood....If you don't know, then you may leave now
Im gonna carve you up, Racki.
I'm taking Dean Youngblood as well.
Don't take any shit from them Canucks. To them, you're just another wetback, crossing the border to play their game.
Racki was such an asshole
The trade of this NES RBIer to the A's broke up the longest playing infield four some
Mark McGwire
Willie Randolph?

Im glad I can read and comprehend today.
Walt Weiss
Walt Weiss is in RBI?
I just cheated and looked it up - I knew the team but could only remember two of the other players, neither of whom were in RBI. I don't know why I thought Randolph played for either that team or the A's, though; he was the only one I could think of who was old enough and played infield, I guess.
Lopes?
Lopes it is
Racki?
i knew it was lopes before i read fathed's answer, and as soon as i read the question.
What player's parents were named Little League "Parents of the Year" in 1981?

gooden
I assume they would have to have been named for someone's sibling.
The youngest RBIer (Santiago) would have been 16 in 1981, wouldn't the little leaguers be in the 12-13 range for age.
Anyhow, I'll guess Will Clark
Based on some quick research, the parents are parents of a current MLB player, not of a little leaguer (Jose Valentin's parents won in 2006), so the RBIer in question was playing in 1981.

This is correct. The guesses so far are not.
Dwight Evans
Mike Schmidt
Bonny wins
Cool
I was going to say Murphy next.
On this date in 1986 this RBIer received the largest arbitration settlement ever awarded despite losing his case.
Don Mattingly

Too early for Kirby - he was a rookie in '85.

Andre Dawson/Jack Morris in '87 :'(

These 2 Arcade RBIers began a joint hold out on Febuary 28, 1966 seeking 3 year contracts for 1.05 million ($350,000 per year)

If you know it you know it, no reason to hold back
Name the last RBIer to hit for the cycle? Hints: it happened on May 15, 1991, and it wasn't hJulio Franco.
My first guess is Kirby Puckett, but that is nothing more than a guess.
Molitor?
Quote from: ultimate7 on 03/08/07, 11:43:10 AM
Molitor?
Winner.
Now, who was the first RBIer to hit for the cycle? It happened on July 20, 1978.
Buckner?
Nope. Hint: the game was between the Braves and the Expos.
The Hawk
Pendleton
Gary Carter?
mammary
All wrong so far.
Tim Raines, if not....Dale Murphy
Ahem, could it be Chris Speier
Ok let me try one. Name the player:
I had the highest ever batting average as a rookie of all the hitters in RBI. Although I never hit .300 again, I was still a pretty good stolen base threat, who am I?

Nope, try again.
Gagne?
Nope.
HINT: He hit .351 in his rookie year and finished his career with the Tigers.
dan gladden.
i swear i didn't peek at baseball-reference or anything!
Heh heh. Dan Gladden is right.
WINNER-Strassy
He just beat out Wade Boggs too, Boggsie had a .349 his first year (1982). It was Gladden's 2nd SEASON (1984) but first true year, he had only like 63 at bats in 1983.
Here's a challenge...This Arcade rbier starred at himself in an episode of the Brady Bunch

Correct, but now you need to describe the episode...
from my memory: greg brady is pitching for his school team or something (grey uni's w/ green trim, bears(?)). i think drysdale is a client of mike brady's and comes to the house to give greg pointers on pitching. the episode aslo features actual gameplay of what's supposed to be greg's team. i believe this was probably filmed around the time of drysdale's and koufax's holdout (maybe?).
I'm pretty sure that greg was fucking up his grades because of baseball....his teacher was engaged to drysdale and he stopped over to discuss the merits of good grades

come to think of it, was there ever a black character in Leave it to Beaver? Even in any of the school scenes, were any of the extra kids black?
