That is sweet, I wonder who won
Someone needs to make an all-Indians ROM (including this year's team) and we should send it to them ...
At the very least email them the link to Dee-Nee

well whoever did, i bet nixon doesn't play with boston.
There's a longer version of this that came across the wire at work. I'll try to track down a link so I don't have to copy and paste.
Here we go. (http://www.cleveland.com/ap/stories/index.ssf?/base/sports-29/1184793873125030.xml&storylist=topstories)
Still doesn't say who won, but does mention that Victor Martinez was the #1 overall seed.
Also has this gem:
Quote"They were yelling at (Indians special assistant) Robby Thompson the other day because (his video counterpart) was too slow," manager Eric Wedge said.
Awesome link
Grady Sizemore = Josephady
Hey Baines, do you have access to the e-mail of the main Communications person for the Indians? I'll try sending him an e-mail if you have it.
Seriously.... The Indians were my favorite team (Not named the Cardinals) way before I read this... But this closes the gap on STL slightly... Grady Sizemore has now lost most of his lead as my favorite active player too with his Josephady crap.... Grow a set and get an eye....

I don't have it right on hand b/c we don't really communicate with the Indians like we do with the Reds, but I can probably dig it up pretty quick.
It would appear to be Bart Swain, whose contact info is here (http://www.tribemediahq.com).
Shit, we should get my tourney site updated asap and get 'em interested. I'd move it the the winter to allow for some of them to play.
i love me a cleveland indians ho

This is the best idea I've ever heard, and I think would be better than outright contacting them, slap Dee-Nee.com on the cartridge, and you gotta assume that some will make their way over here.
Does JoeDirt/TBT/Stock still have that Canadian guy's info?
Potential team list after looking at season records:
1920
1940
1948
1954
1959
1995
1999
2001
2007
Team from Major League
Should probably throw a team from the 70's or 80's in there, even though they sucked ...
Update, expressly for the Tribe: http://ohio.rbicentral.com/

I was thinking we gotta include a Cleveland Naps squad.
For what it's worth, I'm having trouble saving roms in your editor.
perhaps a best of the 80's? joe carter, julio franco, etc, etc.
I have the "Arcade" version of the Indians on the Arcade II ROM found on the ROM page
I've got the 07 lineup set, and tons of time tonight before a few sporting events begin at 3AM and then 7AM.
I'll see what I can possibly get started on.
I'm looking into this as well. I've never actually made a ROM, so this is new territory.
I think many of the attributes can be derived from yearly stats on Baseball-Reference.com, but I'm running into trouble with pitchers. Is there any information that would lead to their fields? Sinker/curve/fastball speed and sinker/curve ability in particular.
if your talking about some 80's players then finding a scouting report online is probably impossible. as for current players, i do know you can usually find a college or even high school scout report for football, and basketball.
Neyer's pitchers book is excellent, I you have specific pitchers I can look them up and tell you their strengths and what pitches they threw
I'd also say its more important to accurately portray the team moreso than individual players. by this admission a pitcher or 2 might get the shaft a bit in terms if his abilities.
Josh Barfield was on local radio today and mentioned the tournament. He said its a double elimination tournament and that he won the winner's bracket and its not done yet. He said he expects to face Victor Martinez or CC in the finals. He didn't mention what teams they were using.
welcome and thanks for the update. sounds like those guys are taking this very seriously.

I believe the winner should go to Columbus and challenge JoeDirt.
It would be neat to see this done as some sort of charity thing - the winner of this tournament could play against one of the top-ranked RBI Baseball players in the world in a best of three series, with the loser donating a certain amount of money to the charity of the winner's choice. I'm sure that other money could be raised through donations, sponsors, etc.
What say you, JoeDirt - are you up for the challenge?
someone get ahold of Bridges.
they wont want to be matched up against a choke artist like dirt.
I'd be up for it for sure.
...and broiler's just jealous because he found out that he's not nearly as good at making bicycles RBI as he once dreamed...
We should probably go ahead and finish that rom now.

Now only 9 more to go!!
Please??
Just in case this ever gets done, I figure we should toss in a team based solely on prospects, so that it can be enjoyed for many years, and possibly a team featuring former players who currently work for the Indians in some capacity.
I wonder, though...Jo Bo has the same fastball rating as CC and Carmona?
One of the relievers was announcing the lineup tonight and called Victor Martinez the RBI Baseball champion. Solid!
And I can't believe how infrequently I go into the RBI Board, I should have known this earlier. I suck, go Tribe!
Bring it, Indians!!!!!!!!!!!
This is way too cool. Any update on this?
