I've got the 07 lineup set, and tons of time tonight before a few sporting events begin at 3AM and then 7AM.

I'll see what I can possibly get started on.

I'm looking into this as well. I've never actually made a ROM, so this is new territory.

I think many of the attributes can be derived from yearly stats on Baseball-Reference.com, but I'm running into trouble with pitchers. Is there any information that would lead to their fields? Sinker/curve/fastball speed and sinker/curve ability in particular.

TbT

if your talking about some 80's players then finding a scouting report online is probably impossible.  as for current players, i do know you can usually find a college or even high school scout report for football, and basketball.

Neyer's pitchers book is excellent, I you have specific pitchers I can look them up and tell you their strengths and what pitches they threw

I'd also say its more important to accurately portray the team moreso than individual players.  by this admission a pitcher or 2 might get the shaft a bit in terms if his abilities.

Josh Barfield was on local radio today and mentioned the tournament.  He said its a double elimination tournament and that he won the winner's bracket and its not done yet.  He said he expects to face Victor Martinez or CC in the finals.  He didn't mention what teams they were using.

TbT

welcome and thanks for the update.  sounds like those guys are taking this very seriously.

I believe the winner should go to Columbus and challenge JoeDirt.

It would be neat to see this done as some sort of charity thing - the winner of this tournament could play against one of the top-ranked RBI Baseball players in the world in a best of three series, with the loser donating a certain amount of money to the charity of the winner's choice. I'm sure that other money could be raised through donations, sponsors, etc.

What say you, JoeDirt - are you up for the challenge?

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

broiler

someone get ahold of Bridges.

they wont want to be matched up against a choke artist like dirt.

JoeDirt

I'd be up for it for sure.

...and broiler's just jealous because he found out that he's not nearly as good at making bicycles RBI as he once dreamed...

Just in case this ever gets done, I figure we should toss in a team based solely on prospects, so that it can be enjoyed for many years, and possibly a team featuring former players who currently work for the Indians in some capacity.

JoeDirt

I wonder, though...Jo Bo has the same fastball rating as CC and Carmona?

Gantry

One of the relievers was announcing the lineup tonight and called Victor Martinez the RBI Baseball champion.  Solid!

And I can't believe how infrequently I go into the RBI Board, I should have known this earlier.  I suck, go Tribe!
