This got swept under the rug so its a few months late, but its time to usher in our next group of 4 HOF members.
extending this another week to see if a few more ballots trickle in.
To recap: Reggie Jackson, Andre Dawson, Mark Mcgwire and Darrel Evans already reside in the Dee-Nee RBI Hall Of Fame. So, dont vote for those guys. If I recall correctly we set a cap of 20 total players that will enter the HOF when its all said and done. However that number is still open for discussion. Gantry offered up a HOF wing(page) on the site, but i failed to put together the proper presentation material for it. So I should probably do that...but in the meantime...
To review your previous selections in the event that you want to vote for them again..... http://forums.dee-nee.com/index.php?topic=16471.0
This thread will be open for ballots cast for the Nes RBI players from all 10 teams. Vote any way you see fit. How a player performs for you, against you, or how he impacts his team. Again, no joke lists please like Pedrique and Santana(however since i think strassy only uses STL/HOU a list of 6 cards/stros by him is fine).
To recap how the voting works and what your ballot should resemble....
1st selection is worth 6 points
2nd selection is worth 5 points
3rd selection is worth 4 points....and so on and so forth through the 6 selections. Please list your top candidate as #1, and 2nd candidate as #2. For ease just copy and paste my top 6, then change the player names to fit your list.
Voting will stay open until high noon CST, Sunday December 30th.
With the big boys already inducted, the results should be very interesting to see when it all plays out. Gentlemen, start your engines!

strawberry and gibson are equal in that they are both lefty outfielders with the same speed.
but strawberry hits 15 points higher in the power category.
also, strawberry and edavis are almost equals as well, but i gave straw the advantage there becuase he's a lefty.
So then it's not really a three way tie, now is it? Stick to sneakers, fella.

Will a pitcher ever be inducted?
While no pitcher was inducted on the 1st ballot, multiple pitchers were just off the mark of getting in. The numbers escape me but after Evans 4th place finish, i believe pitcher ranked 5th thru 7th or 8th in top votes. if those numbers hold true then you could assume at least a pitcher or 2 will make it in this time around.

We do not wish to regret this decision in the future, so we have elected to closely examine our picks and present them at deadline. We are very cautious with our decision due to the magnitude of such a prestigious vote for the first and only RBI HOF in the Galaxy.
We hope that the Federation will not take any unilateral actions that undermine the integrity of the VOTE.
Allies are looking forward to discussing the issue at the upcoming Galactic Empire- NATO Council meeting.

what is up with the love for coleman? can i get some reasoning behind those who pick him?
I voted for him (I think, I don't recall, but here's my reasoning if I did) because he single handedly changes any inning he gets on base for, pitchers have to change their strategy, and if he gets on with no outs, he's usually a lock to score.
Plus, ya know, firecrackers.
I dont think Coleman is a legit HOF'er for RBI. I do think him being on an occasional ballot is warranted though.
To go one step further in ATG style...if you keep Coleman off the basepaths, more than likely ST louis will lose. hows that?
Coleman being hard to get a force out on, coupled with the speed of ozzie behind him makes for headaches when those 2 are getting hits.
If thats happening then its much harder to sneak around lindeman/Clark.
If they both get on, you'll likely have 1st and third (cause Vince should have stolen second), do you not keep Herr in? I'd think it'd be better to have a quick lefty up who will probably not hit into a double play than a guy like Lindeman.

This is actually even more reason to vote FOR the guy. You're saying that if he gets on base his team wins. Can't say that about many players in RBI except for maybe Lopes and Raines, right?

If Lopes were credited with a triple in every at bat, Houston might still be the worst team in the game though >_>
This is true. But my point still stands.
Im not saying getting Vince on garantees a win. I am saying that keeping him off base practically garantees a loss.
Sorta like saying in baseball...good pitching doesnt neccesarily garantees you'll win, but bad pitching does garantee you wont win.

two out of five is definitely jive.
since bdawk voted for 2 guys that were already in(jackson/mcgwire?) then didnt respond to a pm or change his votes i just slid those guys all up to a 1-4 voting. thats probably the difference.
also tudor and baylor are tied for 4th place. what do we do? baylor was on 8 ballots and Tudor was on 6. anyone got any ideas how we decide this? perhaps make an open puhl on dee-nee for everyone to vote? or just say fuck it, its close enough and let em both in?
I saw we give it to Tudor, since he's more worthy
i say you take bdawks votes as 3-4-5-6 instead, and see how that changes things.

You should disqualify all his votes. If a retarded monkey walked into a voting station and started pulling some levers, do you think they would let its votes count?
