I missed last year's version (since they ditched the PS3/X360 generation), but now that I have an Xbox One I will probably have to check this out. Also, the Twins should be far less crappy this year than they would've been last year (and were in RBI '14).
I was just looking at the RBI website last night, they finally added online play. I'd like to play a few of you guys. None of my living friends are into RBI.
I'll get it for PS4. Online play has me sold.

What platform?
I'm pretty sure they got online play into last year's version, but I didn't have a current-gen console at the time to actually try it out.

I was checking for ps4, but xbox1 shouldnt be any different
so whos picking this up tomorrow?
wonder how laggy the online will be
I don't have a baseball game on the Xbox One, so I am thinking I'll have to pick this up (plus the Twins might be non-terrible!).
Anyone try out online play in RBI '15? How was it? I had '14 for the 360, but they never got the online component into that version, and I didn't get the One until last fall.
I'll pick it up. It's a good game for $20...
While I wait for turd's ROM release I'm downloading the RBI game on iOS today, and getting it on ps4 this weekend.
Anyone tried the new edition on iOS yet?

I paid $20 for RBI baseball on the ps4, but paid $55 for Turd's sweet RBI 2016 rom on a NES cart via tecmobowlers.
And I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Long live the original game. And if it gets Turd a few bucks for all his work on the rom then I'm super cool with that too.
Turd is indeed the man.
I had every intention of downloading RBI 16 on the Xbox last night, but it was being a cunt when I tried to update my payment info. Will probably give it another shot tonight.

I need to do the same (I don't put my credit card on there; I preload credit and use that) and am hoping to pick it up today or tomorrow.
What's your Xbox Live gamertag? We can become Xbox friends and play RBI together! Mine is "AddictedToBeef", if you just want to add me.
Let me know how it plays and how different it is than the OG one that Lips got for his PS. Maybe we'll bring it with out to Iowa City next weekend. HI FLOOD

I would definitely be up for playing online sometime, though I will have to take the time and get myself set up on Xbox Live. I've had the Xbox for a little over a year, and it's almost embarrassing how little I use it in relation to what it's capable of. I've played a decent amount of RBI and FIFA, though never online. I think 90% of its usage is the kids playing Minecraft.

An Xbox Live gold subscription is required for online play, so yeah, you'd need to set that up, not that I blame you if you don't think it's worth $40-60/year (depending on whether you find it on sale) to play online. If you do get it, though, make sure you're keeping up on "Games with Gold" - they offer two free Xbox One and two free backward-compatible Xbox 360 games every month. Thanks to the fact that I "bought" the free games as they came out before I got the One, I've got at least 30 games installed on it right now, and I think RBI will be the fourth or fifth one I've actually paid for (there are also some always-free games available as well, although some of them are online games that require Gold). The free games have ended up being much more valuable to me than the online play has been.
A buddy of mine has The game on Xbox one & I (will) have it on ps4. Can he and I play each other? (Same game / different system), or am I destined to only beat people on the ps4

Sony and MS have steadfastly refused to support cross-console gaming. There are a few games that cross over with PC (Street Fighter V on PS4/PC, the new Gears of War and Killer Instinct on X1/PC), but nothing between PlayStation and Xbox, and I don't ever see that changing.
Bought it and kicked off the download last night. Will give it a shot over lunch hour and report back this afternoon.
Downloaded it last night and got in a couple quick games before bed.
It's pretty much like last year's with new rosters and a few subtle changes, which is fine with me. In my first game, I was thinking they had made it more difficult because I damn near lost to the CPU with the difficulty set on easy level. I was actually trailing 2-1 and down to my last out when I hit a walk off 2-run bomb with Tucker Barnhart.
However, I think my struggles can be attributed to getting a feel for the new game and the fact that the Reds are going to be a wretched shitheap of a baseball team this year. I dialed up a second game with random teams and walloped the Angels 10-0 with the Red Sox in five innings. I plan on getting in a bunch of games with the kids this weekend, and I'll post any thoughts/takeaways I come up with.
Fired it up and gave it about four innings. I am not in a good mood, although much of that is my fault.
PROS:
- Plays basically the same as RBI '14, for the most part. That ended up being awful, because I haven't played that game in about a year and am horrifically rusty, particularly batting (I forgot that you can hit basically nothing off the plate, and my decades-honed RBI instinct is to swing at everything the CPU throws).
- They fixed the baserunning controls - you can now just hold the direction and X to round the base and head to the next one, rather having to hit X after you reached the previous base. That was a HUGE pet peeve in RBI '14.
- Presentation is a bit nicer, generally - graphics are still simple but a step up from RBI '14.
CONS:
- The fly ball logic was written by Nazi sadists. It'll grow on me after a few games, but I am having a HELL of a time tracking fly balls right now, even after getting pretty decent at it in RBI '14. That is not helped by...
- The graphics are too high-res, and the ball and its shadow are hard to pick up, to the point that I'm not sure I'll be able to play it on the treadmill (where I'm a little farther away from the TV and off-center from my projection TV).
- Load times are a little longer between innings
- The roster is bullshit - they actually had an April 1 roster update that I grabbed, but the Twins don't have Byung-Ho Park even though they signed him in December, and they still have Tyler Duffy, who was cut a week and a half ago, instead of Ricky Nolasco (which I like, because Duffy is great and Nolasco is a bum).
- When a ball is unquestionably hit out of play, they don't even give you the opportunity to run after it. This includes some home runs.

Red Sox > Angels
I'm thinking that the Red Sox > Angels
Thanks Vegas! Hard work goes into this thing every year. Being that we use brand new carts I don't see a large margin...but its ok. I love the game and it gets me all jazzed for baseball, and honestly helps me with my fantasy draft ;)
