Baines

Downloaded it last night and got in a couple quick games before bed.

It's pretty much like last year's with new rosters and a few subtle changes, which is fine with me. In my first game, I was thinking they had made it more difficult because I damn near lost to the CPU with the difficulty set on easy level. I was actually trailing 2-1 and down to my last out when I hit a walk off 2-run bomb with Tucker Barnhart.

However, I think my struggles can be attributed to getting a feel for the new game and the fact that the Reds are going to be a wretched shitheap of a baseball team this year. I dialed up a second game with random teams and walloped the Angels 10-0 with the Red Sox in five innings. I plan on getting in a bunch of games with the kids this weekend, and I'll post any thoughts/takeaways I come up with.

Baines may have hit a homer with Baines, yelled Baines and immediately changed into a Baines jersey.

You know who's the best? Baines...

BeefMaster

Fired it up and gave it about four innings.  I am not in a good mood, although much of that is my fault.

PROS:
- Plays basically the same as RBI '14, for the most part.  That ended up being awful, because I haven't played that game in about a year and am horrifically rusty, particularly batting (I forgot that you can hit basically nothing off the plate, and my decades-honed RBI instinct is to swing at everything the CPU throws).
- They fixed the baserunning controls - you can now just hold the direction and X to round the base and head to the next one, rather having to hit X after you reached the previous base.  That was a HUGE pet peeve in RBI '14.
- Presentation is a bit nicer, generally - graphics are still simple but a step up from RBI '14.

CONS:
- The fly ball logic was written by Nazi sadists.  It'll grow on me after a few games, but I am having a HELL of a time tracking fly balls right now, even after getting pretty decent at it in RBI '14.  That is not helped by...
- The graphics are too high-res, and the ball and its shadow are hard to pick up, to the point that I'm not sure I'll be able to play it on the treadmill (where I'm a little farther away from the TV and off-center from my projection TV).
- Load times are a little longer between innings
- The roster is bullshit - they actually had an April 1 roster update that I grabbed, but the Twins don't have Byung-Ho Park even though they signed him in December, and they still have Tyler Duffy, who was cut a week and a half ago, instead of Ricky Nolasco (which I like, because Duffy is great and Nolasco is a bum).
- When a ball is unquestionably hit out of play, they don't even give you the opportunity to run after it.  This includes some home runs.

Turd

Thanks Vegas! Hard work goes into this thing every year. Being that we use brand new carts I don't see a large margin...but its ok. I love the game and it gets me all jazzed for baseball, and honestly helps me with my fantasy draft ;)

I'll pick it up.  It's a good game for $20...

I paid $20 for RBI baseball on the ps4, but paid $55 for Turd's sweet RBI 2016 rom on a NES cart via tecmobowlers.

And I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Long live the original game. And if it gets Turd a few bucks for all his work on the rom then I'm super cool with that too.

Anybody playing RBI 15 ??I just bought it for ps4.
