those arms are gonna be sore
Changed my mind. The mercy rule will be set at 15. Errors will be at 5 baseline, except for game 3 in both the 5 and 7 game series - it'll be 12 for those games.
Huge games today!

That's all tentative right now.
Lets start with Spahn on the bump. Don't care about home/road so giv me whatever...unless nomaaa has a preference (then do the opposite).
Looks like Beefy will set up Zoom so we can have a mini watch party.
Really? If true, beyond awesome!
I forgot to mention that the stats from the regular season will be inputted in the rom - so the stats for the players will show their numbers from the season.

Fixed the mistakes, sheesh. WildCard games are today and the 5-game series starts tomorrow. My bad.
The pitchers' ERA in the ROM will represent runs per inning. There are no long ERAs hack, I can just go up to 9.99 in the rom.
If one of the playoff teams has a covid outbreak, does Purple Reign get to step in for them and take their spot?

Breaking news....
Swinging Dicks considering a protest.
Also....FUCK STEVE GARVEY
Special assistant to the Dicks, former chicago cubs GM Dallas Green is filing paperwork to protest the beefy victory. A request to (kill) flip Don Sutton with lee arthur smith was ignored by shady commish Darky.
When asked for a comment, Green said "we knew all along that Sutton didnt have his good stuff this week. We also knew the empire feared a playoff matchup with the dicks. We will have the protest filed and hopefully the RBI tribunal will see things our way. We are requesting a replay from when sutton entered the game. We are DEMANDING that steve garvey is kicked in the balls."
Ryno requested to change his RP rotation. I did on one ROM, but when I fixed the ROM to get all the SP right, which was on a new ROM - the one with the SP#2, I forgot to switch Ryno's BP. Basically, the SP #2 Rom didn't have Clemens starting since he was a #1 and he was starting on the rom with SP#1. So when I went to the SP #2 ROM, I switched Clemens into the #1, but forgot to switch his RP. I noticed during the game, but by then, it was too late. Lord Vader will think of a make-up call to aid Ryno's sorrow. Perhaps some snus will come his way again! Ryno put in a protest, but Darth Vader immediately zapped it.
Okay, the games from the WildCard round! The first game doesn't start from the beginning since I forgot to record, so it's a few batters that went by in the top of the first. Watch it on Twitch to see that first inning.

Oh my god---- an admission of guilt!!!!
Yeah man, I'm really sorry. My daughter left like 10 minutes before pregame, so I was in a rush to fix everything and wasn't meticulous. Embarrassing on my part and I feel bad. Vader didn't want to hear it from me and fortunately I am still alive for my mistake. In the end though, LSmith had the lead in the 9th and a non-tag that would have tied the game ... so maybe ya'll would have just lost in the 9th anyways with Sutton blowing the lead. I'll flow you some snus at a random time - the kind you like best.
The man blames his daughter!!!! This is a travesty!!!!!
Dicks Lives Matter will be protesting at RBI stadium!!
Sutton shit the bed.
Beef, I assume you'll want Soto as your game 1 starter for the LDS Playoffs? Ultimate is going with Niekro.
Nomaaa, you'll have until 2pm Dee Nee time to get in your game 1 starter and any lineup changes. Failure to do so will result in the higher ERA pitcher starting.
Just to clarify, games 1 and 2 will run consecutively for both teams. So after the Montreal-Blue Foots 2 games, the same will happen for the U7-Sides of Beef game.

My bad. I need to stick to the schedule I posted. Basically, you'll play game 1 against Nomaaa, then Ultimate and Beef will play game 1. After those two games, you'll play game 2 against Nomaaa, and then Ultimate and Beef play game 2. So games 1 and 2 for the LDS 5-game series round will take place on the same day, within the same hour. Look at the schedule a bit closer so there are no assumptions that it is just one game a day for your team or any other playoff team. The same follows on Friday.
Tomorrow's games follow in this exact order.

Thickie Don
WildCard round proves to be wild with 2 thrillers, Sides of Beef advance to League Divisional series with 2 straight play-in victories.
In the first game of the WildCard play-in round, BeefMaster's Sides of Beef got a huge night by Dickie Thon (30C/810P) who hit two homeruns, 2 doubles, crossed the plate 3 times, and registered 7 RBI.
Holding on to a 18-17 lead and with a last inning frantic rally by the Spiders, Don Gullet barely picked up the save when he got Leon "Bull" Durham to pop out with George Foster at second base. With the win, the Sides of Beef barely had time to go to the bathroom and recharge as they immediately faced the Swinging Dicks in the second game of the WildCard play-in playoff.
As for the Cinderella Spiders, true to second half season form, they once again arose from the dead. Down 18-13 in the bottom of the 9th, the Spiders frantically rallied for 4 runs to come within 1 run of tying the game, but unfortunately for Fighton, there was no more magic left to summon.
In the second game of the evening, Steve Garvey and Dickie Thon led the offense with a 9/12 combined effort at the plate which resulted in 8 RBI and 8 runs - Garvey blasted a pair of shots while Thon continued his hot hitting with 3 doubles. But it was the top of the 8th that pivoted the game in the Sides of Beef's favor. Down 16-9 in the top of the 8th, the Sides of Beef rocked Don Sutton for 8 runs to go up 17-16. The Swinging Dicks answered in the bottom half of the 8th with a pinch hit HR by Curt Flood to go up 18-17.
In the top of the 9th with 1 out, Dickie Thon singled of Lee Smith and Steve Garvey stepped up. Garvey jumped on the first pitch he saw and deposited the ball into the LF cheap seats for the go-ahead HR. Gullet, who had the top ERA for RP (minimum 10 innings), wasn't flawless, but tough in the clutch as he picked up the win and second save of the evening.
The Swinging Dicks had runners on the corners with one out. Sandberg was up and hit a flyball deep enough to score DwEvans from 3rd base. Everyone in the stadium was expecting a tie game after the tag-up, but DwEvans mysteriously didn't tag as he looked clearly confused at third base. Curt Flood then took the plate with 2 outs in the pressure situation. He popped up to LF to end the Swinging Dicks season. GM Ryno filed a protest due to an error in the RP pitching order, but Arcade Commissioner Darth Vader quickly dismissed the protest, reasoning that LSmith had the lead in the 9th and that anyone who runs the bases like that should be immediately put to death.
The Sides of Beef will face U7 this evening in the Divisional playoffs which is a best of 5.

And Lord Vader has instructed me to restart a game where the Fernando Consecutive Walk glitch happens. It's happened twice now with him, in this league and in week 2 or 3 of the SuperNes league. So the game will restart once I see the glitch and a few walks go by - it's easy to notice because it comes after a hitter sub and on the first pitch when Fernando is subbed in to pitch. Plus, every pitch is in the same location at the same speed.
Gametime approaching gentlemen - 3:30 pm live via Twitch - the schedule is on the previous page, along with the Twitch link.
that glitch is wild. let's hope we don't see any of that

Good question. 10 straight walks or more can certainly alter the game. If it's only 2 batters, the game will proceed. Otherwise, the game will restart regardless of score in the 8th or 9th inning. If there is a scenario I need to think of where I don't need to restart the game, tell me quickly because it's almost gametime.
I just want to know the parameters up front.
We'll just say the game immediately restarts no matter the score.

Blue Foot Boobies take 2 from Exposé. Snider has career night and Blue Foots pitching shined. Base running mistakes, Mantle's off night in game 1, and Steve Sax's costly error in game 2 contribute to the 0-2 hole the Exposé find themselves in.
Nomaaaa's huge lineup change pays off. Snider thrives in the cleanup spot with a 9/10, 9 RBI, 6 R, 4 doubles, and 2 HR combined numbers from games 1 & 2. Fernando picks up save in game 1 that ended on a Steve Sax flyball double play from RF - Mathews thrown out on a shallow flyball to end the game with the Exposé down 16-14 and threatening with runners on second and third.
Mantle returns to form in game 2 with 2 homeruns - the second gave the Exposé a 16-15 lead in the 9th. In the bottom of the 9th, Williams leads off and reaches 1st base on an error by Steve Sax. Frank Robinson then ends it with walk-off HR.
Need to shake things up. Darky, can you move Rabbitt to the leadoff spot and move everyone down. And move Reese to the bottom of the bench.
Thanks.

I'll try and do one that is somewhat structured and coherent. The thing is I may be a bit tied up before gametime, so the pregame may just be really brief. If I do go expanded pregame, it'll be a good 15 minutes since there is so much to cover. I'll need to prepare right now while I have time. Next round of box scores imminent.
no worries. just glad it's the playoffs
U7 use 8th inning 6-run rally to break 10-10 time, hold on for game 1 victory. Lazzri contributes with solid production from 8-hole - delivers 4 RBI to lead the U7 hitters.
Tiant has career night in game 2, doesn't allow a run until the 6th and only surrenders 8 runs off 17 hits in CG impressive win. Kingman and Lopes carry BeefMaster offense with two homeruns each. Series tied at 2 heading into tonight.
I mentioned this before, and that was the error setting will be at 12 for all game 3's of the playoffs. So cross them fingers.

i can verify i saw game 4
Marichal and Vida shutdown #1 scoring Exposé, allow only 4 runs. Blue Foot Boobies sweep Exposé and advance to final four - will face #1 Hulk Hogans in 7 game series.
Snider hit .786 in three games, Marichal leads all playoff starting pitchers with 6.55 ERA, only allows 8 earned runs and 16 hits in 11 innings pitched. Blue Foot Boobies peaking and have recaptured early season look. Nomaaa's lineup change and choice to go with Marichal as SP#1 dubbed "All The Right Moves" in social media sphere.
Montreal Exposé bats go silent entire series. Only hit .438 and averaged 11.3 runs a game, both far below season average. Season MVP Mantle only hit 2 HR in 3 games, drove in only 6 runners. Despite solid pitching by the Exposé pitching staff, the offense mysteriously didn't show up. Expert suggest Shooty put too much pressure on players, created tense clubhouse.
U7 outscore Sides of Beef 37-10 and outhit Sides of Beef 57-29 to muscle their way into Final Four. Niekro pitched CG gem in game one and Hunter and Niekro combined to shut down BeefMasters in game two.
Horner hit .727, 8 HR, and registered a whopping 17 RBI in the four games. Phil Niekro second in the playoffs with 7.58 ERA, amazingly only allowed 16 ER in 19 innings. Hunter also was spectacular with 10.64 ERA in 4 games and only allowed 13 earned runs in 11 innings pitched.
Sides of Beef played miserably at home once again and finish the year 2-8 at home. Offense was no where to be seen in games 3 and 4. Base running blunders and double plays plagued the BeefMasters and thwarted potential rallies to make the games more competitive.
U7 will now face The Empire in a best of seven series in the Final Four. The two teams split during the regular season.

Big day as we begin the Final Four! I'm expecting some good games today since anyone can win this from what I've seen on the simulation practice/scouting games. However, once the bright lights go on and we are live, the ROM becomes self-aware and tunes in with the team owners and the players in the game, so it knows who's hot and who's not. The ghost in the machine is real!
Final Four

Hulk Hogans score 8 runs in the first, Mike Scott does the rest with masterful CG victory, allowing only 6 runs off 16 hits. Davey Johnson collects 5 hits (2 doubles/HR) and drives in 4, Musial goes 4/5 with 3 doubles and 5 RBI. Hulksters flexed their muscles in non-competitive game.
Game 2 turned out to be a thriller. Blue Foot Boobies overcome 11-7 deficit to carry a 14-11 lead into the bottom of the 9th. Down 13-14 with 2 outs and a runner on second, Dave Righetti delivered a slow rolling triple to left-center field to even up the contest at 14. Jimmy Foxx then smacked the first pitch he saw from RP Dizzy Dean into the LF cheap seats for the game winning walkoff homerun. And just like that, the Hulksters find themselves with a comfortable 2-0 series lead as the series will now move to Baja, California, home of the Blue Foot Boobies.
Empire take 2-0 series lead behind solid team effort.
Game 1, U7 score 10 runs in the top of the first to jump out to 10-0 quick lead, The Empire slowly cut into the lead, eventually take a 19-17 lead after the 5th. The lead exchanged until it was even at 21 in the 9th. With 2 outs, team captain D.Mattingly hit a double, Hack Wilson then completes his impressive hitting night (6/7, 5 2B, HR, 5 R) with a walk-off double to end the game. Hank Aarron blasts 3 homeruns and registers 7 RBI, Alvin Dark comes up big from the 7-hole with 3 doubles and a triple while Brock contributed with 3 doubles and 4 RBI from the 8-hole.
U7 rocked Guidry for 17 runs in the first four innings, then are limited by Drysdale and the bullpen for only 4 runs.
Game 2 saw the Empire take a 11-3 lead behind Drysdale and Guidry's gem into the 9th. U7 put on a frantic comeback rally to narrow the ballgame 11-9, Gossage then comes in to slam the door shut. Empire now take a 2-0 series lead as the series heads to Ultimate Chicago Park, home of Ultimate 7 for games 3, 4, and 5 if necessary.
3 good games out of 4 yesterday, now bad amigos! Nomaaa lost a heartbreaker in game 2. GDavis' team is pretty tough and they have heart. Nomaaa's team has some heart too and if not for a 2-out Righetti triple, the series could be tied at 1.
As far as my team and Ultimate's, I thought we were about to get mercy ruled in the first game after Guidry got rocked for 10. But this Empire team is damn resilient with a bunch of ballers. We came back and finally won a 1-run game - first of the year. Hack Wilson and Hank Aarron showed up big finally and at the right time. Took them all season to play up to their potential, but man, if they are gonna be hot for the remainder of the playoffs, we are going to be tough to beat. Drysdale is showing solid form and now I feel better about taking him so early in the arcade and SuperNes draft because of my scouting sim reports on him. Also, my unsung heroes continue to take turns to be heroes and get the hits when we need them. Jody Davis came up big again as well as Al Dark. And Brock had 3 hits in game 1. But hey, game 1 could have went either way and the series could be tied at 1.
Okay, hopefully some of you have nothing else to do and decide to tune in today's games 3 and 4. My son tuned in and even joined in on the chat. He remembers the Empire from when he was a kid from 2009 and 2010 - 2009 was the last time we won it all. Then I have a cool follower on YouTube who gave some kind compliments on YT. Cool to get any kind of recognition for these games from non dee nee members. I get there won't be a huge following or that I'll make a chunk of change on YT or Twitch with a nintendo game from 1988, but feels good to see anything outside of dee nee.

Empire earn a FRBI World Series ticket by routing U7 in games 3 and 4. Empire outscored U7 37-13 in games 3 & 4 for the sweep. Hack Wilson named series MVP with .810 avg (17/21), 8 HR, 6 doubles, and 17 RBI. Empire pitching staff, led by Drysdale, post 12.30 ERA in the four games, tops in the playoffs. Empire also tops in the playoffs with a .548 average. Hank Aarron also impressive in the 4-game sweep with 6 HR, 13 RBI, and .684 average. Lou Brock, traded from the Swinging Dicks before the trading deadline, contributed big from the 8-hole by hitting .588, 6 doubles, 1 triple, and 11 runs scored - good for second on the team. The Empire will be making their 3rd appearance in the FRBI World Series. They are 1-1 in the WS - lost to GDavis in 2007, beat Nacho/MikeD in 2009.
Ultimate 7's bats simply didn't show up, and Phil Niekro wasn't in top form and unable to figure out the Empire hitters. A preseason favorite to make the finals, U7 simply were just outplayed. Despite the quick exit, U7 enjoyed a successful season and putting Ultimate's program on the map.
Mike Scott and Whitey Ford pitch combined gem, limit Blue Foots to 9 runs. Hulk Hogans break game wide open down the stretch, turn 5-2 game into 16-6 victory, outscoring the Blue Foots 11-4 in the final three innings. Fox hit 4 doubles and the top of the lineup came through with 9 RBI, all coming on 2 outs. Hulksters get solid production from the 8-9 hole, extending innings and contributing big.
In the face of a sweep in game 4, the Blue Foot Boobies came out with an unrestrained fury that had been missing in the series as they exploded for 16 runs in two innings (13 in the 1st inning) for the swift mercy rule victory over the Hulksters. JBench broke out of his slump with 2 HR and 7 RBI. Vida Blue had outstanding command and prevented the Hulksters from their usual quick starts. Blue Foot Boobies avoid the sweep and will face off against the Hulksters in game 5, 2pm Dee Nee time. If necessary, games 6 and 7 will directly follow each other today, so we will see a series winner today.
Mysteriously, nomaaaa was absent for game 4. While at home and thinking his season was done, nomaaa was notified that it is a 7-game series and that he may want to check the score of game 4.

I fixed the times since I made a mistake with the time. We'll see if nomaaa can pull off the huge upset and win three in a row ... or if GDavis continues to roll.
The Arcade World Series will take place on Friday and Saturday. Times will be announced tomorrow. Games 1-4 will happen on Friday, and the remainder of the series will conclude on Saturday.

hats off to the hogans. great pitching down the stretch. couldn't have lost to a classier ball club.
You guys had a good run nomaaa! Your guys didn't give up and took it to game 6 after being down 0-3 in the series. Congrats to GDavis and his Hulksters, they showed why they had the best record in the league. So the FRBI Arcade World Series will be The Empire vs Hulk Hogans in a 7-game series that will be decided on Friday and Saturday.
GDavis, I assume you want to be the home team and of course M.Scott as your starter. YouTube videos coming shortly and perhaps the boxscores.

Hulk Hogans lose game 5 in nail biter, runaway from Blue Foots in game 6 to earn a spot into the first ever FRBI Arcade World Series.
Down 16-11 in game 5 and facing elimination in the bottom of the 8th, the Blue Foot Boobies rallied for 5 runs to tie the game at 16. Dizzy Dean pitched a scoreless 9th by shutting down the Hulksters top of the lineup. In the bottom half of the 9th and with Righetti trying to extend the game into extra innings, Frank Robinson drilled a line drive into the right-center gap for a triple. Johny Bench then stepped up and delivered a game winning single to take the series to game 6.
In game 6, the Blue Foot Boobies relinquished a 9-6 lead in the bottom of the 5th as the Hulksters scored 4 runs to go up 10-9. From there, the Hulksters cruised by outscoring the Blue Foots 5-1. Mike Scott picked up his third win of the series and Worrel was outstanding in preventing any kind of last gasp Blue Foot threat.
Mike Scott was named series MVP and the Hulksters pitching proved to be too much for the Blue Foot hitters. Not one Blue Foot hitter hit over .600 during the series while the Hulksters had 3 players over .600 and also got key and consistent production from their 7-8 hole.
GDavis and his Hulk Hogans will now have home field advantage against The Empire in a 7 game series for the Arcade World Series. This will be the second meeting in the FRBI World Series between Darkside's Empire and GDavis - GDavis beat the Empire in 5 games in 2007 (FRBI WS IV) - https://forums.dee-nee.com/index.php?topic=18293.100
GDavis has been running his mouth! He took shots at the Empire during the post game commentary! This has fired up our players!
World Series thread with all the info coming later today. It will begin tomorrow and will conclude on Saturday, unless there is a sweep tomorrow.
