- 15-run mercy rule.
-The baseline for errors will be at 5 and may change from week-to-week at Lord Vader's discretion.
- Various glitches will be resolved by an Imperial operator with pressing the A or B or arrows on the keyboard. No joystick will be used during game recordings. A common glitch is when the baserunner freezes in-between second and third.
- Another common glitch is when the RF or LF mysteriously loses a ball in the sun near the wall and fails to make the catch. This is part of the game if you do not know this already. If a "Fernando" walk glitch occurs, the game will be immediately restarted.

I'll be doing a season preview of the 2020 FRBI Super League live on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/ynot333
I'll cover each team, identify the strengths and weaknesses, and use past season stats to help prognose possible projections.
Here is the schedule for opening day on Wednesday. Everyone has up until 1 hour before the start of game 1 to make changes to the lineups. Times represent Dee Nee time.
Beef, I recall you went with a 3-man rotation, can you go over that again for me please?
Hold On.
You can't just start the season and then grab 4 free agents. Doesn't there have to be a fair waiver process or something?
Like I want to drop Walters and grab a different pitcher.
I was begging nomaaa to change the free agent waiver wire process since I wanted to drop and pick up players (2B/pinch hitter) when he had the league going. I will say that of course during the Arcade season that I wanted Guidry. So it's first come first serve and there are no rules to the waiver wire - and I wasn't notified of any changes when I announced in nomaaa's thread last week that free agents are a go and that I picked up Guidry and Lmbrdz. The only rule is that changes such as signings and releases need to come 1hr before the slate of games begin.
Shooty, feel free to drop Walters and grab who ever. Everyone is free to do what ever as far as dropping players and signing players at any time. This gives more of a managerial experience as well.
The list is here in case you missed it: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QXfsyZeYKar5240iMYX6Cm-pCdzRSs0wPQy3NaT89iI/edit#gid=230022496
ah, starting the season off fair & right
this is probably why i didnt allow FAs. maybe wait until week 3 or something
I guess I'll drop Walters for Spahn.
Vids Blue will move to my #2 starter and Spahn will close out games.
All set Shooty and all changes fixed.
Well nomaaa, we got this huge pool of players on the market, so why not. We've seen three games from brief season you ran and the Arcade players from the season I just did. Fighton allowed a free and open waiver wire when he ran the league last in 2017, so this isn't nothing out of the ordinary ... just more excitement and managerial options, amigo!
Season preview coming up in 50 minutes via Twitch.
And here's the players stats text file - hoping it works this time so everybody can have a look at the players and make sure things are right. Also, you can go on nightwulf editor and click on the SuperLeague link to have a view of all the players, lineups, and team colors.
http://nightwulf.rbicentral.com/cgi-bin/rbi-editor2/rbi-editor.pl?action=textdump
I think the difference is this season was on hiatus. Then you started it up without really any notice of when it was starting and then grabbed 4 free agents.
personally, i'm not making any changes at the outset, but scooping 4 guys the moment you announce the league is janky at best. you deserve a quality ribbing at the very least
Any time i want to complain i remind myself that we are grown men playing a fantasy league from a 32 year old video game. Darky could take mickey mantle off my team and I'd still have fun.
For the record, leave Micky the Hell alone!
Also wasnt i the first one to drop a player? I dropped arcade Nando and picked up NES Nando
Fuck yeah.
Okay guys, we are one day away from opening day with the rebooted FRBI Super League! It'll be live on Twitch and the schedule and times are posted a few posts back - 1pm Dee Nee Time.
All rules are in the opening post.
As I mentioned before, we'll more than likely be seeing 2 games week, possibly 3 up until October. Once October hits, I can't project anything other than 1 game every 10 days at worst. I'll be back home in Vegas and Cali from October until the middle of November, so it's hard to commit to say anything since I'll be on the move here and there. So a preliminary projection is that the season ends (including playoffs) sometime in December. The hope is to get it done by November. The optimistic view is that the season is done around before I come back to Sweden on November 15th.
Anyways, this league is going to be damn exciting and we'll see what kind of storylines develop! There'll be lots of scoring and big innings and remember that no lead will be safe in this league. BTW, the mercy rule will be at 15.
I may come back and do a quick preview of each team with some forecasts - huge maybe. I did the season preview on Twitch last night, but I don't think there were any viewers, lol! Screw it, it was fun.
I have changed emulators in order to be free from the throwing glitches that happened all too often on the virtual nes emulator. The glitches happened on linedrives to an infielder and instead of the infielder running back to the base for the putout or tag, the infielder would throw it away somewhere. There was another throwing glitch where the infielder would receive the throw from an outfielder, and instead of making the putout, the infielder would immediately throw the ball back into the outfield. So we'll be using the Mesen emulator. So far, no glitches. A plus is that I can have a video capture alongside the game on Twitch, so viewers will be able to see my reactions! I may try out another emulator to test out, so we'll see if I change directions again. In any case, all I care about at this point is being free from the glitches that the virtual nes emulator contained.
First pitch for opening day has been pushed back to 2:25 PM due to lightning strikes and that fact that I need to crush food right now.

Empire use balanced hitting offensive and spectacular relief pitching from the bullpen to seize win over High Fives on opening day.
Down 24-22 in the bottom of the 8th, LGrove took the mound for the High Fives to preserve the lead. Dale Murphy and Tony Perez opened up the inning with back-to-back singles. Chili Davis then drilled a 3-run go-ahead HR to give his team a 25-24 lead. After a Schoefield popup, the Empire got 2 big pinch hits - Musial hit a double and Cedeno followed with a 2-run shot. The Empire tallied two more runs to take a 29-24 lead into the top of the 9th. From there, closer Hubbel did the rest to earn the save with only 1 run allowed. Bobby Bonds led the Empire with 2 HR, 2 3B, and 5 RBI.
The High Fives had an outstanding game hitting, but they were plagued by 1 fielding error, two assists from the Empire OF, a rally killing double play by Dawson with the bases loaded when the game was tight, and the poor bullpen performance of LGrove. It was just too many bad breaks to overcome, especially against the disciplined Empire. Dawson led all hitters with 3 HR.
In a thriller with the leads exchanging down the stretch, Ted Williams ends the game with walk-off homerun to give Hollywood opening day victory.
The RBI Super League may not have very many low scoring games, but the opening day game between the Old Stylers and Hollywood Star Whackers featured a low scoring game with outstanding pitching by both teams.
The Old Stylers took a 8-6 lead into the bottom of the 7th. Hollwood reduced the deficit to 8-7 with a JRice solo shot. Scott Garrelts then pitched a perfect 1-2-3 8th with a K. In the bottom of the 8th, Tenace hit a 2-run shot and Hollwood got back-back-back pinch hit doubles by Keith Hernandez and George Brett to take a 10-8 lead into the top half of the 9th. The Old Stylers quickly responded with a Bert Campaneris 2-run shot to even up the ballgame 10-10 going into the bottom half of the 9th.
In the 9th, Bell led off with a single off Don Sutton. Horner lined out to the second baesman, setting the stage for Ted Williams. Ted Williams drilled the first pitch he saw into the RF cheap seats to end the game and Hollywood Park went bonkers.
Down the stretch, Hollywood outscored the Old Stylers 6-2. The Old Stylers only managed to hit 1 homerun in the game. Over in the social media sphere, Nacho's statement of seemingly blaming the loss on misprinted jerseys showing "Styles2 instead of "Stylers" as well as the a feud with other team owners made for some viral memes. Lord Vader has executed the individual responsible for league uniforms.
Beefy Masters bullpen pitches lights out, score 4 in the 9th for come from behind win to open the season.
Bruce Sutter and Fergie Jenkins allowed 0 hits and 0 runs to pave the way for the Beefy Master hitters to win the ball game. Down 15-13 in the 9th, Dave Henderson hit a pinch hit double which was followed by a "Bruno" double to come within 1 run. Armas grounded out and up came Dave Kingman. Kingman hit a towering 2-run go-ahead homerun to put the Beefy Masters up 16-15. Adcock then unleashed an awe inspiring homerun and the Beefy Masters gave the ball to Fergie Jenkins to close out the game. Jenkins slammed the door on the Tropicana Staircases after Cepeda reached second base on a fielding error by Armas who lost the ball in the sun. Jenkins then got 3 straight outs for the win and save. Once again, the story of the game was the Beef Master brilliant bullpen and the rare stat produced of no hits or no runs for two different relief pitchers in the 8th and 9th inning - a first in FRBI history.
once again, I have a team that can't close out games. At least Sal Bando did something off the bench, shedding the curse of last season.
One request: can you please make the caps/gloves a slightly lighter shade of green so that they aren't exactly the same color as the grass? Thanks
Rough start for Gibby, but the bullpen was spectacular - Sutcliffe's 3IP/3ER performance was pretty great, too.
I was really worried that I was in for trouble when Bruno dropped a fly ball to open the bottom of the ninth, but Fergie got out of the jam very impressively.

I think my initial request was for the neon green type color
Tempo, no problem! It's done.
Before I unload the last two boxscores and recaps, the near future schedule will be a slate of games every two games. So that means tomorrow, Sunday, Tuesday, next Thursday, and then next Saturday. I'll try and keep the times the same Monday through Thursday, and on the weekends, expect later starting times. I'll do my best to keep this pace and get in as many slate of games as I can before I am in Vegas for 6 weeks starting October 1. As noted before, get roster changes from the waiver wire and lineup changes in to me 1 hour before the slate of games begin.
Yeah, it was a wild opening day with a lot of surprises. Krukow limiting Nacho's team was an eye opener. And I didn't expect Shooty's team to lose like that as well as Gooden having that kind of outing. I have watched a lot of simulations to scout, and let me tell you, once the lights go on, the emulator takes a mind of its own because I thought I had a good idea of the 4 teams who'll earn a bye. Some really good teams out there clashing.
Pabst Blue Ribbons outlast UHF CH.62 in opening day game that became an extra inning pitcher's duel between Valenzuela and Big Daddy Reuschel - Nando wins the duel, Marris hits walkoff HR in the 11th. Gehrig slams 4 HR and ties the RBI record with 10 - only 3 other players have achieved 10 RBI, Mantle, Kingman, and Aarron.
Ryno's Blue Ribbons were cruising along with leads of 16-6/16-9 until the 7th inning when Ultimate's UHF erupted for 7 runs to tie the game. The Blue Ribbons then scored 3 runs in the bottom half of the 7th to take a 3-run lead, but UHF answered right back with 3 runs of their own to even the game up at 19 in the 8th. The score stood still at 19 until the 11th inning due to outstanding relief outings by both Fernando and Bid Daddy, both SP's who have been named closers.
Fernando only gave up 2 hits in 3 innings and zero runs allowed in his 3 innings of relief. Meanwhile, Rick Reuschel gave up 4 hits and 2 runs in his two innings. The two runs came at the expense of Roger Marris' 2-run walkoff HR.
Blueberry Kings route Canada Shootys to open the season.
Elite pitcher Dwight Gooden had an off-night as the Blueberry Kings roughed him up for 14 runs and jumped out to a 14-4 lead when Doc left the game. Juan Marichal pitched the season's first complete game as he only allowed 13 runs.
Candy Maldonando had a huge night from the 8-hole with three homeruns and 5 hits. Also having a big night at the bottom of the lineup from the 7 spot in the order, Joe Morgan went 5 for 7 and knocked in 4 runners. SP Marichal contributed from the 9-hole with 3 hits (1 rbi triple) and 2 runs scored.
The Canada Shootys, a consensus favorite to finish in the top 4, couldn't put together a big inning to get back in the game. They hurt themselves with 2 double plays and being burnt on the bases by 3 assists from the Blueberry outfielders. E.Davis was the lone bright spot on offense with a 5 for 5 performance at the plate. Dating back to the FRBI Arcade playoffs, Nomaaa seems to have Shooty's number with 4 consecutive victories over Shooty and his successful program as of late.

I'M A LITTLE CONCERNED ABOUT MY PITCHING STAFF!!!
Dong fest by the Shootys and Ribbons!
Record setting game features 70 runs, 90 hits, and 27 homeruns as UHF CH. 62 scores record 43 runs to pull away from Hollywood's 27 runs.
Another FRBI record was Kirk Gibson's 5 HR in one game. UHF had 6 players with at least 6 hits and 8 hitters with at least 5 hits. Even G.Perry had 3 hits from the 9-hole. UHF erupted for 9 runs in 3 different innings and got a strong finish from G.Perry's arm in the final three innings to help UHF pull away after they carried a 28-26 lead into the 8th inning. UHF thunderstruck the Hollywood Stars 15-3 down the stretch. Hurting themselves in the high scoring game, were the 3 double plays Hollywood hit into.
The Tengen firework crew were down to their last set of fireworks in a game that seemingly had fireworks going the entire time with the record setting 27 homeruns. Hollywood Stars GM Fightonusc expressed concern about his pitching with a helpless look that went viral on Twitter.
Pabst Blue Ribbons race out to 16-4 lead after four, pull away then hold on for the victory.
After a 16-4 deficit through 4 innings, Gooden flashed his dominant form and allowed Canada to get back in the game. Heading into the 8th, the game was close with the Blue Ribbons leading 18-15. Brett Saberhagen couldn't keep the game close - he was rocked for 7 runs making the score 25-15 in favor of the Blue Ribbons and that was more than enough for the Blue Ribbons and Nolan Ryan who finished the last two innings.
Mickey Mantle flashed his Arcade league record HR form with 3 homeruns and 8 RBI. For Canada, they were plagued once again by double plays - they hit into 2 and ending potential rallies.
Although Burt Blyleven reached the 7th inning with a solid outing, GM Ryno wasn't satisfied and threatened to cut him because of too many homeruns given up and perhaps the constant farting in the dugout.
Beefy Masters explode for 18 runs in final two innings to take commanding victory over High Fives.
The Beefy Masters, down 17-10 in the top of the 8th, turned to the most powerful bench in the league to lead off the 8th. GDavis and DwEvans smacked back-to-back pinch hit homeruns to awaken the lineup. The Beef Masters eventually took a 18-17 lead going into the bottom of the 8th. From there, the High Fives recaptured the lead after a Dawson 2-run shot.
In the 9th, the Beef Masters continued their contagious hot hitting by erupting for 10 runs to take a 28-19 lead. Sutter did the rest to close out the game by only allowing 4 runs in the 8th and 9th. The Beefy Masters out-muscled the High Fives 18 runs to 4 in the final two innings. The High Fives bullpen has now collapsed in two straight games and may be a sign of things to come. Nevertheless, the Beefy Masters simply outhomered and out-muscled the High Fives up and down the lineup, and of course Sutter in relief was the difference.
RP Roger McDowell caps 4-run 9th inning comeback win with game winning 2-run double as Tropicana Staircases enter the win column for the season.
The BB Kings and J.Key were cruising along with a 8-1 lead in the 4th inning until a costly 2-out error by T.Raines. The error resulted into 5 runs for Tropicana and new life. As the 8th inning begun with a 10-10 tie, the game turned over to the bullpens for both teams. The BB Kings scored 2 in the top half of the 8th and Doyle Alexander tossed a scoreless 8th. The BB Kings added a run to take a 13-10 lead heading into the 9th.
The ball was handed over to Frank Viola to close the game and after 1 quick out (Strawberry L4), things looked bright for Nomaaa. Cepeda stepped into the batters box and hit a single which was followed by 3 straight hits and a run scored to cut the BB Kings lead at 13-12. With runners on second and third and 1 out, McDowell hit a soft ground ball to the RF wall. Keven Mitchell scored from 3rd base and PH Chris Speir was given the green light to round third. Tim Raines throw from RF didn't come in time as Speir slid into home plate for the victory.
Balanced hitting and complete Dyrsdale game pave the way for commanding Empire victory.
The Empire scored 10 first inning runs to set the tone of the game and from there, they cruised to a 31-19 win over the Ye Old Stylers to open their 2020 RBI Super League campaign at 2-0.
For the Ye Old Stylers, their 0-2 start has a lot to do with inconsistent hitting and having a league last 6 homeruns. The Old Stylers hit into two line-drive double plays to get double off at second base to end the inning on two different occasions. If not for those two unfortunate double plays, the game could have been more competitive or gone a different way.

Yeah, Tropicana hit a few more singles and lots of tweener doubles, especially in the last inning. Morgan and Raines combining for only 1 hit really hurt you. Both teams pitched really well and it was a pleasure to score that quick game! You just needed perhaps that extra 2-out hit with RISP to seize the game. That 2-out error by Raines in the 4th changed the course of the game - Key is deadly with a good lead after 4 innings.
Anyways, tomorrow's schedule and like always, all times are in Dee Nee time. Depending on how soon the lady goes to bed, pregame will be either 30 minutes or 15 minutes before first pitch. https://www.twitch.tv/ynot333

How high is the error rate? My team has had just a fuckton of them in the past two games.
It has been at 5 all year. And it's just not your team making a lot of errors - I'm seeing a lot of errors for a 5 setting. But yes, your team has been booting the ball too much. I don't like to see a fuckton of errors anywhere and have them impact every game. These guys are professionals, so I may turn down the notch to a 2 setting in the meantime.
And don't go too hard on your guys. Fighton kept believing during the Arcade season and maintained a positive clubhouse, so go easy on your men or bring in a motivational speaker or something! You have a really exciting team in the midst of a slump - you'll get it going and it would be great for the league if your program gets back to winning.
Also about my game, fuckin' Bruce Sutter came in dangerous out of the pen. Game is tied at 12 going into the bottom half of the 8th after newly acquired McCrmk pitched a scoreless top of the 8th. Then we finish the game with 6 straight outs and not one hit off Sutter. Hubbel got roughed up a bit, but 5 runs given up isn't the end of the world. Oh well.
And how about Fernando Valenzuela closing the game with another scoreless inning from the closer role! He now has pitched 4 scoreless innings for the season thus far. Ryno's Pabst Blue Ribbons and the Beefy Masters are now the two undefeated teams. Stu's High Fives and Nacho's Old Stylers are still winless.

Canada regroups, breezes past Hollywood with determination and Doc's brilliant complete game.
Doc Gooden was back to his outstanding self as he tossed a complete game and held down Hollywood's lineup. Offensively, the Canada Shootys finally produced with a balanced hitting showing from the entire lineup. Many observers have speculated that perhaps it has taken time for Canada's program to recover after their painful exit from the Arcade playoffs when the Blue Footed Boobies shockingly swept the series. Nevertheless, Canada snapped a 2-game losing streak and a 5-game losing streak dating back to the Arcade playoffs and now have new life with their first win.
As for Hollywood, the pitching hasn't performed up to Fighton's expectations thus far and the pitching staff is still shook up after giving up 43 runs to UHF.

Down 11-5 in the 5th, Ultimate Chicago (UHF CH.62) went into another gear and outscored the winless Old Stylers 26-12 the rest of the way to improve to 2-1. Ultimate Chicago has now scored a record 74 runs in the past two games. The Old Stylers hit good enough to win, but they couldn't keep pace with UHF. Furthermore, the Old Stylers highly touted pitching staff just couldn't limit the explosive Ultimate Chicago hitters who have 6 left-handed hitters, the most in the league. Gehrig and K.Gibson both hit a pair of homeruns and they both are tied for the league lead in homeruns at 7.
The Old Stylers who are now 0-3 need to find solutions to their ongoing woes. If it's not the hitting or pitching, then it's the errors, and the errors hurt them bad against a team that will capitalize on errors with extra at-bats.
Bruce Sutter dominates with perfect 8th and 9th to secure tight victory over Empire.
Tied 12-12 in the 8th, both teams went scoreless. In the 9th, the Beefy Masters scored 5 runs to take a 17-12 lead into the last half of the 9th. Sutter retired the side in dominating fashion as he didn't allow a hit or a run in his two innings of relief. The Beefy Masters have now opened the year with 3 straight wins and remain undefeated courtesy of having the ability to beat teams in multiple ways, certainly ingredients for a championship. Tony Armas hit 3 homeruns giving him 7 for the year, good for the league best with 2 other players.
The Arcade champions Empire were left wondering what could have been. They failed to reach base when the game was tied at 12 in the 8th, and down five in the 9th, the Empire once again failed to reach base. And the hitting was absent all day. Manager Darkside expressed concern about his team's inability to seize control of the game as well as winning from behind. "These guys need to understand that wins don't just happen by themselves just because we won these types of games during the Arcade season", said Darkside.

Fernandomania: Pabst Blue Ribbon nation falls in love with Fernando Valenzuela after another scoreless inning in the clutch for thrilling win against Tropicana Staircases.
Fernando Valenzuela has started the PBR season with perfection through the first 3 games. Down 27-26 in the bottom of the 9th with Foster, Hack Wilson, and D.Strawberry coming up, Tropicana felt good about their chances. Foster led off with a single off the fence in left-center and things looked promising. The most feared hitter in the league, Hack Wilson, hit into a double play and then Strawberry grounded out to second base to end the game. Fernando won his second game of the year while also picking up the save. In week 1, Fernando pitched three scoreless innings, 2 of those into extra innings against the top hitting team in the league, UHF Ch.62. 4 innings pitched, only three hits surrendered, and zero earned runs reads the line for Fernando's first two appearances ... and of course 2 wins and a save. Fernando was greeted at the airport by thousands of fanatic supporters over in the capital of the Pabst Blue Ribbon Republic.
The Blue Ribbons are one of two teams left undefeated and have raised eyebrows with their brilliant start. Mantle now has 6 homeruns and is just about back on his record homerun pace from the Arcade season.

Gotta pick one (https://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Save)...
QuoteA relief pitcher is awarded a save when he meets all three of the following conditions:
He is the finishing pitcher in a game won by his club; and
He is not the winning pitcher; and
He qualifies under one of the following conditions:
He enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches for at least one inning; or
He enters the game, regardless of the score, with the potential tying run either on base, at bat, or on deck; or
He pitches for at least three innings.
You can give Fernando the win on the grounds that Ryan (who would ordinarily be the pitcher of record) was ineffective in his appearance and should not be credited with the win, but in that case Fernando doesn't also get the save.
getting the win and the save in the same game is like eating your cake while still having it
Vader has altered the rules. The save stands! ;D I'll run it by Lord Vader once again, but he's a tough cookie to mend anything. If I can talk him into it, I'll fix that. Also, saves will be awarded to any relief pitchers who preserve the lead, no matter how big of a lead one has - FRBI league, this isn't the MLB. My bad though, I got mixed up with the win-save thing - I was an OF and never really paid attention to the save thing.

I thought I just did amigo! I was clearly wrong and it is embarrassing, but oh well. haha, kinda funny how I wasn't sure on the save rules.
Last boxscore coming soon, then I'll post the standings and schedule. Tomorrow's games will be between 2 to 2:30pm dee nee time. Then count on Thursday and Saturday - same time Thursday and about 2 hours later on Saturday.
BB Kings rock Tudor for 26 runs, cruise to 30-22 win - Juan Marichal pitches CG.
After the 4th inning, the BB Kings led 26-12 and the carnage was just too devastating for the winless High Fives to recover from. Candy Maldando has a surprising 7 homeruns, tied for first in the league with 3 other players.

Get on board mother fuckers
Ultimate Chicago Ch.62 (UHF Ch. 62) hangs on for victory over Empire. Ozzie Smith over achieving through four games with a .619 clip.
UHF CH.62 got the big outs every time the Empire threatened to take the lead throughout the game. With Ultimate Chicago leading 20-18 in the bottom of the 9th and the Empire frantically rallying, Jody Davis was thrown out at home plate from an errant CF throw which was picked up at the backstop by the quick thinking Bid Daddy for the second out. Hubbel hit an infield single and Chet Lemon came up having already hit 2 homeruns for the day. Rick Reuschel got Lemon to groundout to the SS to end the game and earn the save.
For the #1 hitting team in the league and being on a record pace for almost every offensive category in the history of the FRBI League, UHF Ch.62 only scored 20 runs - 11 fewer runs than their average.
As for the Empire, their offensive woes continue in situations where there is the opportunity to take the lead or put the game away over the last two games.
Gedman blasts 4 HR, Ruth hits 3 HR, "The Thrill" and HoJo each drill a pair of shots to spearhead the Pabst Blue Ribbons hitting - Mike Scott does the rest to finish the game.
The Pabst Blue Ribbons woke up in a big way in the 4th inning. Down 15-7 to the winless High Fives, the Blue Ribbons erupted for 12 runs to take a 19-15 lead. The High Fives reduced the deficit to 19-17 after the bottom half of the 4th, but they would only score 2 more runs the rest of the way because of Mike Scott's mastery.
The Pabst Blue Ribbons have now opened the Super League at 4-0 and are now the lone undefeated team in the league. SS Bobby Doerr, who was signed by Ryno the day before, had a 3-6 debut with a RBI triple. Maury Wills was released. Ryno explained that he favored more pop over speed and that Doerr (18/765/124) has shown to overachieve - he hit .521 with 9HR during the Arcade season.
Hollywood hitters finds another gear down the stretch, Soto finishes strong and Hollywood improves to 2-2.
*The boxscore got screwed up due to a mistake I made, so the season totals are were doubled on to the original boxscore. Can't fix the boxscore without the database being corrupted again, but the database is fixed to reflect the players true stats.
THIS IS WHY YOU INVEST HEAVILY IN MOTO FUCKING SOTO
Ye Old Stylers get go-ahead HR from Hank Aarron in the 7th and use lights-out pitching from the bullpen to win it down the stretch to capture first win.
When Doc Gooden took the mound in the top of the 7th with a 11-10 lead, Canada liked their chances. However, Hank Aarron hit the go-ahead 3-run shot which was followed by a Foxx solo homerun. Canada added a run in the bottom half of the 7th and there would be no more scoring as the score stood still at 14-12 in favor of the Old Stylers.
The Canada Shootys threatened in the bottom of the 9th and had runners at second and third with two outs and Carter at the plate. Don Sutton got Carter to fly out to end the game and pick up the save.
Phil Niekro was brilliant in his long relief role with only 1 run and 2 hits allowed in three innings and out-dueled Gooden.
Mel Ott caps 6 hit day with 3-run blast to help BB Kings pull away from Beefy Masters. Key and Marichal shut down powerful Beefy Masters hitters to only 8 runs and 16 hits to lead #1 pitching staff in the league.
The BB Kings, so far, are in a class by themselves in the pitching department and the pitching has propelled them to a good 3-1 start. The league average for pitching is 20.1 in ERA, and second best (BeefMasters), have a 16.25 ERA. It still is early, but that is a promising trend. Meanwhile for the Beefy Masters, Bruce Sutter pitched his 3rd straight inning without allowing a hit or run in relief. The defeat was the year's first for the Beefy Masters and surprisingly, their hitters didn't show up for this one.

Had no idea you knew about Frampton! Good game there and holy moly with Ott. We had our chances, but couldn't get that big hit to pull away. Hitting into two double plays two different times with the bases to end the inning devastated us! Nevertheless, my team has more defined role players and I think it's good chemistry so far. My new additions came out big for the Empire! Well, big enough, but Maris, Torre, and HoJo hit a bomb in their debut at-bats for us - Brock did the same in the Arcade season.
You have a really good team bro. Once I establish my pitching staff, that should stabilize the locker room and organization. Vader likes to keep players on edge, but I believe we have found our set pitching staff. The Empire will rise once again!
Oh yeah, if I can get the all the boxscores before 1pm Dee Nee time, we'll be looking at a 3:30 pm first pitch for week 6.

FRobinson: L7, L6,L6,L3 in that game. I can say there are a lot more lineouts in this league with more quality hitters. It's either lineout, flyout, or HR - slow bleeders aren't too common in this league.
Scoring the games right now. I just noticed that Mel Ott has 12 straight hits. Boxscores coming shortly and a very brief set of game summaries so I can save time and get week 5 done so we can jump into week 6 today.
Forgot to mention Nacho, Ron Cey had 6 jacks in the Arcade league, and 6 jacks in the Arcade World Series for the Empire. He already has 6 jacks for you this season! The guy is clutch when you need him to be. He will give you over .500 this year.
Old Stylers rock Clemens in the bottom of the 8th to take the lead and Sutton pitches a 3 pitch/3 out 9th as the Old Stylers win 2 in a row. Ron Cey's huge day: 3 HR and 5 hits. Clemens gave up 7 straight hits and continues to struggle with his bullpen role. Tropicana hurt badly with two inning ending linedrive double plays.
Beefy Masters use 6-run 8th to come back and pull away from Pabst Blue Ribbons. BeefMasters outscore PBR 10-1 after the 5th inning. Bruce Sutter runs relief scoreless inning streak to 5 innings over the past 3 games - only 3 hits surrendered. Both teams came in with new look lineups after trade fury with the Empire - all traded players from the Empire had stellar debuts. PBR suffers 1st loss of the year - 4 teams now at 4-1.
Mel Ott has third straight 6 hit game and current 13 straight hits as he spearheads BB Kings to win over The Empire - Marichal outstanding once again. BB Kings kept pulling away just enough all game when the Empire came within a run. Empire crippled by 2 different inning ending double plays with bases loaded. Jackie Robinson, Maris, HoJo, and Torre all shine in debut for Empire. Empire now on 3-game losing streak, BB Kings now on 4 game winning streak.
UHF CH.62 hold on for fourth straight win. WFord records two big strikeouts to keep Canada at bay when game was tight. Canada can't get big hit to take control of game and left 12 runners on base.
George Hendrick comes off the bench in the bottom of the 8th to hit 2-run go-ahead HR, Rollie Fingers holds off 9th inning Hollywood comeback surge and gets G.Brett to ground out with 2 outs and a runner on second. High Fives enter the win column after opening the season 0-4.

BB Kings win wild thriller in last at-bat with Ernie Banks inside the park HR - hand of God helped lodge the ball stuck in the fence rendering the ball unreachable by LF Mantle. Fernando magic comes to an end in season's most exciting game of the year. Lou Brock beats out Will Clark throw to second base to avoid second out and give BB Kings momentum. Mel Ott reached 15 straight hits for FRBI record before finally making an out.
In low scoring tight game that came down to the bottom of the 9th inning, Big Daddy hits leadoff triple and eventually is knocked in by B.Mathews fielders choice ground out - Big Daddy barely beats the throw and tag. UHF Ch.62 move to 5-1, Tropicana's struggles continue.
Bruno hits walk off HR as Beefy Masters narrowly edge Hollywood. Bruce Sutter runs relief scoreless inning streak to 6 innings over the past 5 games.
Vida Blue pitches complete game masterpiece as Canada routes The Empire. Ripken registers 6 hits and 2 homeruns from the 8-hole. Empire now on 4-game losing streak. Canada flashes hitting potential.
Ye Old Stylers score 8 in the 6th to break 12-12 tie and cruise on for victory over struggling High Fives. Old Stylers now at .500 and three game winning streak thanks to awakened offense and solid pitching.

Some vests were earned in week 7. None for anyone n offense. But the 3 headed monster of Mike Scott, Bert Blyleven, and Steve Bedrosian earned that shit!,,,
Congrats men. Now don't go pissing me off next week.
Bert Blyleven is the read deal in this league. Never thought he's top tier SP material, yet here we are watching him shutdown team after team with his high K ratio.
Soto has shown he's top tier since the Arcade league.
Yeah guys, boxscores will come in tomorrow and expect Week 8 on Tuesday.
3-headed pitching monster of Scott, Byeleven, and Bedrock shutdown Empire with lightsout pitching - only 11 hits surrendered and 2 runs. Game was fastest recorded ever in FRBI history. Empire now on 5-game losing skid. PBR rebound after heartbreaking loss to BB Kings.
Tudor and Koufax shutdown league's #1 hitting team, High Fives erupt for 15 runs in 6th inning to mercy rule and shock UHF Ch.62.
After a promised socially distanced ice cream party if Hollywood could score 10 runs in an inning, the Hollywood Star Whackers vigorously responded with a 11-run rally in the top of the 1st inning. From there, Soto pitched brilliantly and registered a complete game as Hollywood easily won 22-11.
With the score even at 11 going into the 7th, Tropicana explodes for a 17-4 run down the stretch for their second win. JNiekro finishes the last 5 innings in relief and continues to prove he's an elite pitcher like his brother. Canada's program experiencing turbulence as same old problems resurface.
Old Ye Stylers get historical night with Hank Aarron's FRBI record setting 5 HR to fuel them to 4 straight win. Old Stylers outscore Beefy Masters 16-4 down the stretch and bullpen helps Old Stylers to pull away to impressive victory making many observers take notice of Nacho's suddenly hot team.

I didn't see it and I just watched all the ph at-bats again. What inning did this happen?
Anyways, boxscores will roll out tomorrow. Very interesting and fun season, despite the Empire being in shambles but fuck them for playing like pussies - we just don't have it and we just aren't a good team - the chemistry isn't there in the lineup.
Nacho's team is surging with a 5-game winning streak. The Empire had a 5 or 6 game winning streak before the second half after starting the season so-so. That Ron Cey is damn clutch and perhaps the best 855 power hitter between the arcade and NES version.
Ryno's team has some nasty pitching. His acquisition of Bedrock has really fortified the bullpen and made the pitching staff complete. Mike Scott led the Hogans to the title game and he's showing that maybe it is he who is the best pitcher in the game on a consistent basis. It's pretty cool how in the arcade rom and this rom how pitching plays a huge role.
I think this Super NES league has more teams that has he potential to win it, but then I thought the same with the Arcade league and then once the playoffs started, it was revealed that the Empire and Hulksters were in their own class. Recall the Empire got every single break in the Arcade WS to help win it, and of course with Hack, Aarron and the surprise breakout performance by Cey served as the main facilitators, along with the Empire's bullpen.
Beef's team is solid, Ultimate's, Ryno's, Nacho's, and Nomaaa's. I think after them, there is a dropoff, but we haven't gone through the second half and things can change suddenly, like how Fighton's team surged and Nacho's team collapsed. I will say I am looking forward to the playoffs since it should be a lot more competitive than the Arcade playoffs. I also like how the games have gone more low scoring in the sense that it shows how valuable pitching is.
Anyways, all that can be wrong as we conclude the first half and dive into the second half with different pitchers going up against the same teams.
Bedrock has become the leader in the clubhouse for the Ribbons. As an undrafted free agent he really had a chip on his shoulder. He's earned a kick ass vest and a sweet titty gold chain necklace. The mfer went from drinking coors light to PBR and never looked back. He's the face of the franchise.
But we gotta get the bats going. Back to back shitty offensive outputs has me considering bench time for Chili Davis.
I would love to find a lead off guy that would low me to slide mantle into the 2 hole. Changes to the lineup are coming. Will consult with Bedrosian and make the announcement soon.
Other than the UHF disaster, I think all of our other losses have been either by one run or on a walk off. Woof.

I forgot to mention your team is also pretty good and is capable of going deep in the playoffs for sure. All it takes is for the breaks to go your way. Also, what's going on with Bonds? He hit 21 homeruns for you in the Arcade season - he only has 3 for me. :(

Chili was hitting .556 going into week 8, but had zero bombs since joining your team - he has 4 total for the year counting his stats with the Empire. There's something about him I will admit. Actually, he's just not a superstar.
Down 16-12 to UHF Ch.62, Beefy Masters thrust ahead with 8-run eighth and Bruce Sutter's lights out pitching as he continues to have phenomenal year out of the bullpen. Sutter pitched two scoreless innings in the 8th and 9th and allowed no hits and zero runs as well as fanning two batters. Beefy Masters now in 2-way tie with PBR for first place.
PBR holds off 9th inning Hollywood comeback rally and wins another low scoring game with outstanding pitching and just enough hitting. Chili Davis benched immediately after game by demanding Ryno. Fighton's snaps at media by telling them his team is elite when media brought early favorite list to go all the way and Hollywood not on the list - reaction trending #1 on Twitter today.
PBR now in first place tie with Beefy Masters at 6-2, but actually in second via head-to-head tiebreaker.
Hell of a comeback after I thought I was gonna get mercy-ruled in the 4th... I managed to withstand an Ozzie Smith dinger and back-to-back strikeouts by my 2-3 hitters to kill a rally in the top of the 7th.
Bruce Sutter had a nice comeback game after losing his scoreless appearance streak his last time out.
Hack Wilson wakes up dangerous after early season hibernation, carries Tropicana with 6/6, 3 HR, 2 2B, 9 RBI showing at the plate. Tropicana then holds off last gasp rally by The Empire. Empire now have lost 6 straight after opening up year 2-0.
Vida Blue pitches complete game gem, Davey Johnson's huge day (3 HR 6/6) carries Canada Shootys to third win. Andre Dawson hits two homeruns to hold his position as HR league leader at 17 threatening Mantle's record of 39 - only bright spot for the struggling High Fives.
Ye Old Stylers jump out to 10-3 lead then hold off 9th inning BB Kings rally to seize 5th straight win. Sutton barely earns save by getting Nokes to fly out with runners on second and third with 2-run lead. Old Stylers now move into second place tie after kicking off season with three straight losses - now have league's longest winning streak.
The Box Score for the Old Stylers game is of the wrong game.

Idk. Steve said 2 runs allowed or less or the team eats Beenie weenie for a week. So we think you overachieved
i like how raines thought about sneaking home and then went back at the end there.
I swear Yaz was thrown out at 1b but not called out. 1b threw it too quickly after catching it I guess.
Chili would have been out for sure.
When we score, we score in bunches.
All Empires eventually come to an end - our program is in shambles. We need to regroup and make some changes and use the second half to get a wildcard spot. Vader isn't even talking to us right now which means there could be a roundup of deaths. We are going to get this shit fixed and get back to being badass.
Beefy Masters use another gear in two different innings to seize game and put it away. In critical 8th inning with Canada only down by 4, Sutter keeps Canada at bay with another scoreless inning. Beefy Masters then drop 11 off Spahn in the 9th to put game away. Beefy Masters continue to roll and remain in first place as the first half of the season concludes.
Ojeda and Joe Niekro lead Tropicana to victory with outstanding pitching. Hack Wilson contributes with 4 RBI and HR - continues to hit well after slow start.High Fives struggles continue, Dawson fails to homer for first time this year.
Babe Ruth blasts 3 HR, Mike Scott pitches lights out, PBR quickly overwhelms Ye Old Stylers in 20-3 mercy rule rout. Yaz debuts in starting lineup with 3 hits and HR. Bedrock reported to be calling shots with PBR in hand. PBR becoming the Raiders of the FRBI Super League.

Does steve even pitch any more?
Mike Schmidt's big day at the plate (3HR, 6H, 8RBI) fuels BB Kings offense while Marichal and Key limit once explosive UHF. Ch.62 offense.
BB Kings snap 2-game skid while Ultimate Chicago Channel 62 loses 3rd straight.
Darrell Evans shows way for Hollywood Star Whackers with 4 HRs, Hornsby blasts 3 from leadoff spot. Krukow goes the distance for complete game win. Game wasn't competitive as Empire lose 7th straight, FRBI record. Hollwood move into better playoff position heading into second half.
3 total hits from Robinson/Mays/Aaron/Foxx. Damn.
I watched my game with my kids, and they enjoyed my excitement that Dickie had a big game.

That's pretty darn cool watching your team win with your kids and them being interested! Good family fun with this league as well. My son asks me how the Empire is doing so far and he watched the finals from the Arcade season on Twitch.
There's some spooky voodoo jinx on the Empire. Holy shit. I'm burning sage for my next game against the Old Stylers - I'll have it burning during the game. We need to win now to get in the playoffs.
YouTube replay coming up. Thanks to Ryno for watching the pregame and entire broadcast. And thanks to nomaaa for jumping in. Nice to have the chat going.
it's more fun to stream when you're not there by yourself
Seriously, why does my team suck so much? Everyone has good hitter ratings but no one can actually seem to hit.

Another seriously question with your team is Doc Gooden. He's having the worst year I've ever seen him have. I thought your team would be in the top 4 right now. I can say that the team speed has been a problem for your team with double plays and many guys thrown out at third or home. Beef's team has the same problem with team speed, but his guys make up for that with those high volume innings.

Wow, great game against the Hollywood Starwhackers. My outfield really showed off their arms in this game. Not sure I've ever seen so many guys gunned down at 2nd base from the OF in one game.
Also I'm sure that we've had plenty of pitchers it inside-the-parkers. Would be interested to see the stats on it.
Cy Young has pitched like garbage all year. Might have to take a look at the waiver wire.
Bert had a rough first game or so. So much so I almost dropped him. Glad I didn't. He and Mike Scott are missing barrels and keeping Bedrosian and Nando fresh
We'd like to announce that first base coach Big Ed Delahanty has been relieved of his duties after being found with a mostly drunk quart of rye in his uniform after the game. He was fired during the train ride home and was last seen walking near Niagara Falls.
Shit. He should have went with PBR wedding brew. 32 percent abv
Pabst Blue Ribbons record second straight mercy rule win with 21-4 rout over UHF CH.6 in six innings. Bert Blyleven tied a FRBI strikeout record by fanning 4 hitters in six innings of work in which he only gave up 4 runs off 11 hits. PBR has now outscored their opponents 41-7 in the past two games. Ultimate Chicago has now lost 4 straight.
BB Kings mercy rule Canada in 6 with outstanding pitching and consistent hitting along with big inning to put Canada away. Gooden continues to mysteriously struggle, as well as preseason favorite for the playoffs, Canada. BB Kings remain in 3rd place and one game behind first place teams PBR and Beefy Masters. Canada still in good position for the last wildcard spot.
*Boxscore edited for accuracy
Empire blow late lead to High Fives. High Fives bullpen and clutch hitting at bottom of lineup helps them to 3rd win. Despite new look Empire with EDavis trade and two free agent signings, Empire lose 8th in a row, FRBI record.
How did we both have Eric Davis on our team in the boxscores?

I thought I made the changes in the database and I know I did. However, I think I forgot to manually insert the new player (Marris) into the roster as well as edit the lineup according to the changes you made. I could'a swore I did all that and that I want to blame a glitch in the database. Sorry about the fuck up there - I need to get my shit together and be more professional and precise. Will fix later. FUCK!!!!
Also, traded players and their new teams begin with fresh new stats. That's how the database works, but the former players stats remain on their original teams.
Just gonna do some shit at the gym, fix the errors in the database, score the last two games and we'll be good to go for week 11 on the scheduled time.
Beefy Masters keep winning with same formula: Great starting pitching, get a big inning rally to take the lead, and let Bruce Sutter finish the game with shutdown pitching.
Against the Tropicana Staircases, the Beef Masters overcame a 14-11 deficit in the bottom of the 7th inning with a 6-run rally to head into the 8th with a 17-14 lead. League ERA leader Bruce Sutter once again pitched a scoreless inning and third before handing the ball off to Fergie Jenkins. Jenkins surrendered a run, but got the last two outs to earn the save and give the Beefy Masters their 3rd straight win. The Beefy Masters overcame a double play and 2 OF assist outs at third base. They lead the league in both categories, but have managed to overcome their lack of team speed with great pitching and hitting. The win allows the Beefy Masters to remain in 1st place.

I explicitly went for power over speed when drafting, then traded what little speed I had to get more power (Jackie Robinson for Johnny Bench), so while it is frustrating to see that kind of thing every damn game, I knew what I was getting into.

The rom was fine as well as the new lineup - not a problem there. I guess when I scored the game, I wasn't paying close enough attention to notice something was off. It was my bad because although I traded Marris and Davis in the datbase ballstat program, I have to add the new player in the ballscore progame - that's the program where I click on the rosters and lineups or change lineups when I am going to score a game. It was early in the morning and I guess I wanted to rush through scoring the game which meant huge mistakes. Took me a while to fix that in the database since there's some stupid delicate order and balance of things, but all good now. Next boxscore coming in 5. Gametime at 2:15pm.

I know! I was going to mention how that is usually your style - go for power first and if speed is there, then it's there. I remember you won it all in 2010 the last time I ran the league for FRBI VI - you and TBG ran the team and beat the Banana Hammocks (Turd's team) in a sweep with a team built on pure power and no speed - Armas was on your team.
Ye Old Stylers show resilience with thrilling win down the stretch against Hollywood.
Down 19-16 in the bottom of the 8th and trailing for the majority of the game, the Old Stylers had a 6-run determined rally to take a 22-19 lead in the 9th with a barrage of doubles and triples. Sutton took the ball and pitched a scoreless 9th to help the Old Stylers rebound from the trouncing they took from PBR. Danny Cox hit an inside-the-park HR - the first of the year by a pitcher and the third by a pitcher dating back to the Arcade season - GDavis had Scott and Ford both hit insider the parkers.
Jorge Bell and Darrel Evans were both thrown out at second base while trying to extend a single into a double - the drunken first base coach was immediately fired by Fightonusc after the game, via Facebook and Twitter.

Rough 9th inning all around for the Canadieans.
Talk about bad luck and tough breaks. Two consecutive times a runner was hosed at third - killed any chance of a run and big inning. I believe Shooty's team was thrown out 4 times on the bases by outfielders. Crazy comeback by the PBR and the BB Kings had a nice comeback win as well.
The big shocker was the High Fives winning and a milder upset was my Empire finally showing up thanks to Drysdale who finally had a gem and it was a good gem. Ultimate's team continues to collapse and with Tropicana's loss, the 6,7, and 8 wildcard seeds are still open.
PBR show grit with 9th inning comeback rally and spectacular bullpen pitching which pushed the Pabst Blue Ribbons to 5th straight win and sole possession of first place with league's best record.
Leading 17-14 in the top of the 9th, Canada opted to allow Saberhagen to face PBR's pinch hitters. Joyner singled and Yaz followed with a ph HR to trim the Shooty lead to 1-run. Spahn came in to save the game, but Doer greeted him with a single. Mantle then flied out and Babe Ruth singled setting the stage for The Thrill. Will Clark blasted a Spahn fb deep over the CF fence and high above the scoreboard for the go-ahead lead. Destroyer of Dreams Gedman then added an insurance run to make it 20-17 heading into the bottom half of the 9th.
In the bottom of the 9th, Burks led off with single and things looked promising against Fernando Mania. The next batter, Davey Johnson, then smacked a line drive single to the LF fence, but Burks was thrown out trying to advance to third. The same exact thing happened with the next batter Marris. Johnson was gunned down trying to advance to third base off a hard single to the fence. So like that, it was 2 outs with Marris at first. DiMaggion then flied out at the fence to the LF Mantle - Mantle was involved in all three outs!
Fernando Mania dazzled in relief to earn the win, and team moral leader and consultant, Bedrock, pitched a perfect 1-2-3 8th inning to keep his team in the ball game when PBR were down 17-14.
Once again, the Blue Ribbons keeps finding ways to win and Canada continues to be creative with the consistent losses.
Drysdale pitches commanding complete game gem to end league's longest losing streak and remain alive for playoffs.
Drysdale had the Old Styler hitters playing pepper with the infielders as he only allowed 14 hits and 11 runs. Missing for most of the year with his normal good stuff as we witnessed in the Arcade league, Drysdale showed up when the Empire needed him most. For the Old Stylers, it was a painful loss when there was an opportunity to gain a game towards a semifinal birth and first round playoff bye, but they remain in great position to capture the 3rd or 4th seed which means a bye during the Wildcard round. Again, the Old Styler hitting problems resurfaced and it is a concern for Nacho for the rest of the second half with inconsistent hitting.
High Fives get clutch hitting and lights out pitching down the stretch and in extra innings to earn upset win over Beefy Masters.
Canseco, McGwire, and Dawson combined for 17 hits and 5 HR from the 2-3-4 part of the order to help the High Fives in a big way for the upset win. Lefty Grove and Rollie Fingers surrendered 0 runs in 4 innings of relief from the 8th to the 11th. Another difference in a tight game were the two double plays and two OF assist outs the Beefy Masters committed, as well as the five errors committed in which 2 turned out to be unearned.
The Beefy Masters now share second place with the BB Kings and the High Fives avoided a step further away from the playoffs.
Tropicana blow 14-2 lead and come up short at the end against the BB Kings. BB Kings outscore Tropicana 16-3 after the 4th inning and show they have the grit to compete for nomaaa's first ever FRBI title. After a Marichal turbulent start, Key, Alexander, and Dizzy Dean took over with brilliant location and change of speeds as they combined to only surrender 3 runs after Tropicana registered 14 quick runs through the first four innings. BB Kings now in second place tie with Beefy Masters but hold the tiebreaker edge - BB Kings take a step towards a bye into the final four. Tropicana now not looking like a playoff lock with second straight loss.
Hollywood Star Whackers explode for 19 runs in 5 innings and Soto shuts down UHF Ch.62 for brief mercy rule annihilation. Both teams tied for 5th place, but going in different directions - Ultimate Chicago now on 5-game losing streak after 5-1 start.

SO MANY BOPS
As I mentioned during the Twitter broadcast in the chat room and on the air, errors were set to 10 for week 11 and 12. The randomness is pretty cool and a nice changeup. I'll leave it there for weeks 13 and 14.

I don't think there's much evidence that the bops directly caused me to lose both those games but I sure as hell am blaming them for it.
the B-Boys got that grit and I like it.
STYLIN'!
Win #4. Look out world!!!
Ye Old Stylers erupt for 14 runs in the 5th inning and cruise the rest of the way. Old Stylers added 5 more triples to their league leading 20 - closest team has 14 (Empire). With victory over the slumping UHF Ch.62, Old Stylers now move into 4th place with 2-game lead from the pack tied for 5th place. Ultimate Chicago have now lost 6 straight and searching for answers as they are entering wild card survival terrain.
Tropicana shock Pabst Blue Ribbons with outstanding pitching, clutch hitting, and PBR errors resulting in 4 unearned runs. PBR also hit into 2 double plays in game where everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong. No late inning magic for PBR this time around, mainly due to Tropicana's outstanding bullpen in the clutch. Down 14-12, PBR had runners on second and third in the bottom of the 9th, but Fernando Mania grounded out to end the game.
Yaz immediately benched after the loss after dreadful 0-fer performance at the plate. Chili Davis' pinch hit 2-run homer earns him starting job back ... for the moment. Bedrosian, who pitched a 3 pitch 1-2-3 8th inning, reportedly livid in the locker room after the game and things were heard being broken in violent manner.
Tropicana move into 5th place with win, PBR remain in first place.
Gooden flashed old brilliant form and Canada gets balanced hitting to snap 3-game losing streak in 20-10 win. Canada Shootys outscored Hollywood 13-2 after the 4th inning to pull away. Canada alive and well for the playoffs and Hollywood still in the hunt for a playoff bye.
High Fives run up big lead on BB Kings and then hold on for 21-18 win. Koufax brilliant until the 9th and Dawson's 2 HR keeps him as league leader in homeruns at 21. High Fives now surging with 3rd straight win with playoff hopes looking good. BB Kings 3-game winning comes to an end, but BB Kings still in second place.
Empire stun Beefy Masters with 22-9 mercy rule win in 5 innings. Empire now on 2-game winning streak and new member Eric Davis rejuvenated in his three games with the Empire. Former Beefy Master players employ revenge on BeefMaster as Jackie Robinson and Joe Torre combine to go 7-9. Beefy Masters now have lost 2 straight to last place teams.
Week 12 was flip the script week and upside down world as the top 3 teams lost and the bottom 4 teams all won. Errors have been up in weeks 11 and 12 due to apocalyptic weather conditions due to climate change.

My team is great at finding new ways to lose games.
Holy shit. McDowell struck out the side in the bottom of the ninth with a one run lead. Amazing.
The Empire was un-clutch in that game. Definitely do not have the look.
That was crazy with McDowel coming in dealin' like that to poor Fighton. That was a painful loss for Hollwyood because the last out to end the game was in Gagne's glove ... then the ball popped out and then Speir's ph homer changed things.

We never had any kind of look other than horseshit after the first two games. I just don't have a good team that can't put it together. We had SO MANY chances to seize that game against UHF and we blew every single one of them - it was actually an incredible run of bad breaks to get RISP with no outs and find ways to not score. That game was our last chance to jump back in and control our own destiny for the wildcard round and we blew it. With your team and the High Fives surging, I think we are done and won't even be the 8th seed.
Boxscores will be a bit delayed and week 14 is pushed back to Monday.
CHANNEL FUCKING 62
Really need to work on some situational coaching with the left side of my infield. You HAVE to take the out rather than trying to hold the lead runner when the middle of the order is coming up, and they did it wrong twice in a row to set up a grand slam, then later they did that terrible "throw the ball before you actually tag the runner" move to let a run in without an out.
Got delayed with the boxscores, so I'll try and get in 2-3 today. The rest will roll out tomorrow and week 14 has been pushed back to Wednesday since I am working tomorrow and won't be able to broadcast week 14 since there is a really chaotic individual at the short term living house I work at.
Week 15 should happen Friday, and then week 17 may happen Sunday before the NFL games. Then I'm back in the US next Monday and we'll take it from there with my hardcore jetlag.
Leading 12-11 in the top of the 9th with two outs, George Brett makes critical error and drops line drive right at him to end the game. PH Speir then delivers go-ahead 2-run HR. McDowell then comes in to close the game and allows leadoff double to Garrelts. The next three batters all struck out as McDowell went into nasty mode to give Tropicana big win and inside positioning for the playoffs. Fighton immediately lashes out on Twitter, mistakenly thought Gagne made the nightmarish error, but it was Brett who made the error - Brett pinch hit and substituted at SS for Gagne in the 8th.
Canada breaks 12-12 tie in the top of the 9th with 6-run rally started by LF error - Mattingly immediately capitalizes with PH go-ahead HR. Spahn pitches scoreless bottom half of the 9th to lower his ERA to 41.29.
Ye Old Stylers remain in 4th place while Canada Shootys put themselves in playoff position with second straight win.
UHF Ch.62 snap 6-game losing streak with narrow win over The Empire. Ford, Gullet, and Reuschel shutdown the Empire after the 4th inning, only surrendered 1 run. Duke Snider had the game winning hit when he drove in Kirk Gibson from third base in the bottom of the 9th with 1 out. Ultimate Chicago Channel 62 now moves into 7th place while the Empire sit at dead last with a parcel of hope left for the playoffs.
The Empire had three different chances to put the game away when they had runners in scoring position with no outs. Each time, somebody hit into consecutive fielders choices at home plate and nobody stepped up for a big two out hit. The Empire left 10 runners on base, and 8 runners were left stranded in scoring position - UHF only left 5 stranded and 4 were left in scoring position. What ever is going on with the Empire, the Force is clearly not strong with them.
Duke Snider had a huge 5/5 day with a pair of blasts and 6 RBI to lead all hitters.
BB Kings outlast Beefy Masters in 11 inning thriller and move into a first place.
Despite overcoming deficits all game, Beefy Masters squandered chances time after time to take control of the game, and when they did take the lead finally in the 9th inning, Fergie Jenkins couldn't protect the 2-run lead given to him in the 9th. 2 double plays the Beefy Masters hit into turned out to be killers. One in the 9th that killed a rally and prevented them from adding to their 2-run lead, and another in the 11th with runners on the corners with 1 out before Jenkins hit into a 4-6-2 DP to end the threat and producing no runs. The BB Kings showed they have the championship trait of overcoming adversity and finding a way to win with their 9th inning comeback and the bullpen's ability to keep the score down. The Beefy Masters now sit in 3rd place and find themselves in the midst of a 3-game losing streak which is a concern as we are in the stretch part of the season.
The extra inning game marks the second extra inning game for the Beefy Masters and the team's 5th overcall dating back to the Arcade season.
Red Hot High Fives capture 4th straight win and move into 5th place with 15-11 stressfree win. High Fives had leads of 15-6 and 15-8 before PBR made the game appear closer than it was. PBR's bullpen, the best in the league, once again shutdown opposing hitters and giving their team a chance to get back in the game, but PBR's sticks never woke up this game. PBR now slide into second place with their second straight loss. GM Ryno and Bedrock livid after the game, and consequentially the lineup was altered in a moment of rage.

I knew it was coming, but I really wish they didn't pitch hit for Ripken in the 9th. He was having a career game.
Ripken had 3 bombs, one of which a grand slam I think, and probably 10 RBI.
The Empire had a huge and dramatic comeback win, wow! The players finally showed some guts and this is the momentum we need down the stretch and hopefully it's time to peak at the right time. The Empire is right back in it. Vader performed some kind of Force ritual to harness it and get the Force to bless us ... and it did with the lucky breaks we got in the last two innings against the BB Kings.
These slow starts are just killing me.
Empire overcome deficits of 14-1, 19-7, and a 9th inning 19-13 deficit to stun first place BB Kings. Dicky Schoefield hit 3-run walk-off HR to cap 7-run 9th inning rally.
Jimmy Key had only given up 2 runs and 8 hits through 6 innings as he was en fuego, but the Empire started to figure him out and Key was fatiguing. The BB Kings big lead turned out to be a detriment when the Empire gained momentum and hope. An error and a ball cutoff which was on the way to third base for an easy tag out turned out to be huge breaks for the Empire.
The BB Kings remain in first place despite the painful loss. The Empire's win, combined with Canada and the High Fives losing and only being one game back Hollywood for the number 8 wildcard spot, puts them in position to make a playoff run down the stretch with 4 games to go. The Empire will face Canada in week 15 and the BB Kings will have a first place showdown with the struggling Pabst Blue Ribbons.
Kingman whacks 3 homeruns to lead the Beefy Masters to a 20-7 mercy rule blowout in 5 innings over the struggling Pabst Blue Ribbons. The Beefy Masters tallied 23 hits and 8 homeruns in just five innings for the convincing win and with the victory, the Beefy Masters find themselves in a 3-way tie for first place, but counting the tiebreakers, they sit in second place which would be good enough for a Final Four birth.
The struggling Pabst Blue Ribbons keep falling apart with their 3rd straight loss. There have been team meetings, fishing trips involving debauchery, and constant lineup changes - all haven't stopped the seemingly sinking ship. Moral team leader and GM consultant, Steve Bedrosian, has inserted himself into the #1 SP spot for the upcoming showdown against the BB Kings. Bedrock, who was livid and animated from the bullpen, has grown frustrated in not appearing enough in games. It will be interesting to see his RP 15 stamina hold up in 4 innings against one of the top hitting teams in the league, but if guts can carry him, then that also remains to be seen.
Hollywood Star Whackers hit 10 homeruns and keep the High Fives at bay all game for 21-18 win. Hunter and Garrelts allow no runs in relief to preserve the lead while Horner and Ted Williams each blasted a pair of shots to lead the Hollywood offense. Hollywood now move into 8th place and would be the wildcard 8th and final seed for the playoffs if season ended today. Canada and the Empire right behind by one game. The High Fives sit in 7th place, but by only game. With 4 games left in the season, the wildcard spots for the first round of the wildcard play-in is wide open.
Down 20-12 going into the 8th, UHF Ch.62 erupt and outscore Canada Shootys 12-1 in last two frames for moral boosting win.
With Gooden on the bump and equipped with a 8-run lead, it is generally assumed that he'll protect that lead as a general consensus elite SP. However, Gooden isn't having a good year and the now 7-7 Ultimate Chicago Ch. 62 find themselves in 6th place with their second straight win and on the cusp of a first round bye depending on how they finish their last four games and how the Old Stylers and Tropicana fair down the stretch - it's currently a 3-way tie by record among those three teams. The #5 and #4 seed avoid the play-in wildcard round.
As for Canada, they now drop to dead last, but they remain a strong wildcard play-in candidate. They will face the Empire in week 15 in a pivotal game for a better chance to get in the playoffs. Don Mattingly, a longtime captain of the Empire and captain of the Empire's 2 championships, will make his first start for Canada and against his former team, Shooty has announced in what is a psychological and emotional move.
Cal Ripken hit two grandslams and drove in 10 runners in a career night. By default, he was pulled late in the game and bats breaking in the Canada dugout were heard when he was retrieved from the batters circle.
Hack Wilson's big day at the plate and McDowel's second consecutive hitless and scoreless inning in the 9th help Tropicana to a 19-18 narrow victory that was decided in the ninth, via a throwing error.
Hack Wilson blasted 3 homeruns and tallied 7 RBI to lead the Tropicana offense. McDowell pitched a 1-2-3 ninth with Tropicana down 18-17 to give his team a better opportunity to take the game. With two outs in the bottom of the 9th, pinch hitter Teufel hit a double off Don Sutton. The next batter, Roger McDowell, hit a soft ground ball through the left side of the infield and into LF. Hank Aarron anxiously fielded the ball and rushed his throw to third base to try and get Teufel out, but his throw sailed over everything and Teufel easily jogged home for the winning run.
The win by the Tropicana Staircases, combined with the losses by the Old Stylers and UHF Ch.62 have forged a 3-way logjam for 4th place with 4 games to go. Tropicana will face UHF Ch.62 in week 15 and the Old Stylers will take on the High Fives for what will be a pivotal game for all teams as we near the season finale in week 18.
Got off from work at 10 am and currently on the train to Stockholm-Arlanda airport. I'll basically have enough time to eat and then watch NFL Sunday. Tomorrow I take off for Las Vegas for a dreaded 18 hour journey. I'll be in Las Vegas about 4:30 pm PST. So perhaps Wednesday I'll run week 15. Unsure on the times right now, but leaning towards noon time or early evening PST. I'm sure I'll be up around 4 to 5 am the first 3-4 days, but it'll be too early to run at that time since I don't want to wake my brother and his family up. So hang on and sorry about the delay fellas. The stretch run of the season will be exciting for everybody! The Empire is 3-1 in their last three games and after that improbable comeback against the BB Kings, we have all kinds of momentum - The Empire will rise once again!
I'll update you guys if there is a change of plans, but once we start week 15, count on games happening every other day once again or every 3 days. The errors will be pushed down to 6 for the remainder of the season.

WOOOOOOO
Bedrock is well hung, wow!
And Donnie Baseball, longtime team captain for the Empire, turned on Shooty :D He's still loyal to the Empire! So he hit a ball off the wall, the runner on second didn't advance, and Mattingly decided to get in a rundown to get tagged out in the 9th to help the Empire! The Force blessed us today - we got some great breaks and fought our way back from behind to win the game on a gw hit by Hubbel of all people! Jody Davis delivered when we needed him and he again showed the FRBI world that he's one of the best overachievers in the game. The Empire is coming my friends.
I give up.
Always nice to give up, let's see...16 HRs!...and still win.
The Empire come from behind and win second straight game on last at-bat in the ninth, Hubbel delivers GW hit to cap off comeback in thrilling 27-26 win for the Empire. Empire now 4-1 in last 5 games and have taken the 8th seed, good enough for a wildcard play-in playoff birth.
The Canada Shootys led all game after the 1st inning and every time they created any kind of lead, The Empire chipped into the lead to stay in the rearview mirror. Canada squandered rallies with double plays and bad baserunning. The biggest blunder came in the top of the 9th. Leading 26-24 and with DiMaggio at second base, Don Mattingly hit a ball off the top of the fence. DiMaggio mysteriously didn't advance and Mattingly bewilderingly ran straight to second and then was rundown trying to get back to first for the second out. The next batter flied out.
In the bottom of the 9th, the Empire got key hits to tie the game and with runners on the corners with 2 outs, RP Carl Hubbell hit the game-winning hit to send the Imperial Center Stadium in Las Vegas into a frenzy. Darth Vader gave thanks to the Force and said the Empire is peaking at the right time. For Canada, they remain in last place by only a game and will have to win at least 2 out of their next three for a shot into the playoffs.
Hollywood Star Whackers outscore Beefy Masters in high scoring 28-26 victory that featured 26 homeruns.
Hollywood moves into 6th place with shootout win while Beef Masters remain in 3rd place. Bruce Sutter has worst relief outing of the year and picks up the loss. Hollywood tagged Sutter for 5 runs and two homeruns with two outs in the 8th to create a big enough lead to hold on for the win.
Each of my eight position players homered. Good lord.
I prefer to see a little more defense...
You can't defend a homer.
Pleased with the home run output, but the team just could not buy a single or double all game. Mario Fucking Soto also killed us with the bat... I think he had two triples and a double.
UHF Ch.62 hit a barrage of doubles to pull away and leave Tropicana in the dust in a 7-inning mercy rule victory.
Ultimate Chicago Channel 62 outdoubled Tropicana 16-6 and outhit the Staircases by racking up 35 hits in just 53 at-bats in what was a non-competitive game. Reggie Jackson and Kirk Gibson each laced a 3 doubles and Ozzie Smith ended the game with a walk-off mercy rule homer - it was his 4th of the year. UHF now moves into 5th place with a 3-game winning streak after losing 6 consecutive games and appear to have their early season mojo back. Tropicana's 3-game losing streak has come to an end and now sit in 7th place by just a game over the Empire with just 3 games left. Joe Niekro was rocked for 14 runs in just 2.1 innings pitched.
Ozzie hits homers. Sndbrg struggles to hit at a pitcher level
Hank Aarron, Jimmie Fox, and Ron Cey all homer twice and combine for 15 RBI to lead Ye Old Stylers to non-competitve 22-17 win. Danny Cox pitched effectively in relief and limited the High Fives to only 3 runs while preventing any kind of comeback and big inning. Hank Aarron now league homerun leader with his two shots. Old Stylers remain in 4th place while High Fives drop to 9th place.

Everything is a conspiracy when you lose :D The broadcast went the full distance, but it was delayed due to the wifi connection. I was broadcasting live, but could see that on Twitch on my iphone, that the broadcast was behind 10 minutes or 1 game. So when I was done with all the games on the OBS Studio, I made my usual post game comments while the broadcast you guys were getting and I was getting on Twitch, was still going. So I turned off the OBS Studio, and then somehow the delayed broadcast shutdown. Fortunately, I recorded the games, so it's real easy to see on Youtube how the game UHF vs Tropicana game continued without a glitch if you watch the Twitch video. Then you could see how I started recording and went straight to your game and Ryno's from the UHF wins screen. That is, there was no reset or fresh start with your game and Ryno's. Just double check the Twitch recording and YT recording and it's all there to see that nothing unusual went down.
Anyways, I'm about to post the boxscore from the last game, and then update the schedule and standings.
I'll test run some games on Twitch live to see how the bufferting is affecting the broadcast. I may just have to get super close to the modem so there is no delay and I'll check the settings because the broadcast was horseshit due to going wifi and having not the best wifi at my brother's house. YT and Netflix pauses at times as well. In any case, I'll make sure the full broadcast happens.

blueberry kings bow to no one
Mickey Mantle's huge day and Bedrosian's determination fuels Pabst Blue Ribbons to 19-15 victory and back into 1st place.
Mickey Mantle had 6 hits, 2 HRs, and 6 RBI to lead the 1st place PBR hitters. Steve Bedrosian broke a 10-10 tie in the top of the 7th and the PBR never looked back after that as they held off a late surge by the BB Kings when Fernando Valenzuela came in to shut things down and did so with one pitch to pick up the save. Bedrock was inserted into the #2 SP role and had a good outing as he lasted until the 9th and limited the BB Kings. It is reported that Bedrock will start against the Empire in week 16.
With the win, the Pabst Blue Ribbons have the best record in the league and are in first place all alone. The BB Kings are now in second place. If the season ended today, the PBR and BB Kings would earn an automatic bid into the semifinals.

Nice work, ryno.
I'm honestly surprised that Hank Aaron is leading the league in HRs. His hitting hasn't been particularly clutch or timely this year IIRC. Lots of solo shots when the game is out of reach or when the lead is already sufficiently large.

This aged poorly.
Also, I don't know how much longer I can keep rolling with Cy Young in the pen. He's been awful all year. He's gotta be at or near the bottom of the league in ERA.

When the lights are bright and you need a star to deliver, Hank will get it done! He's having a better season than he did in the Arcade season. Before this game, he was hitting .667 with 22 jacks. He hit .516 with only 18 bombs in the Arcade season. Aaron was the Arcade WS MVP - in 6 games he hit .647 with 12 homeruns and was on fire in the Arcade playoffs.
I think you expect too much out of him, like to hit .800 and hit bombs like Mantle did in the Arcade year. Only one player hit over .700 in the Arcade season (McGwire) and the second best homerun total was 28, also by McGwire - Mantle had 39.
Aaron didn't have the best year for me in the Arcade season, but he'll have huge games and he seems to turn it up when it matters most.
I haven't been disappointed in Aaron at all. Frank Robinson is the only player that I think hasn't lived up to expectations. I was just surprised to see he was the league leader.
That was a fun game to watch, Big Daddy getting it done
Sutter's really struggling all of a sudden. That was a hell of a game to watch but not a great showing by my pitching staff.
Empire's 5 runs in the 10th more than enough to secure win over Pabst Blue Ribbons.
Dick Schoefield's huge day at the plate helped lead the Empire to their 3rd straight win and into 6th place. Schoefield blasted 3 homeruns and drove in 9 runners. Carl Hubbell pitched a scoreless 10th to seal the win and it was a bases loaded double play that killed PBR momentum in the 10th. In the 9th with two outs and Gaetti at second base, Yogi Berra hit into a linedrive double play to end the PBR threat with the score even at 22.
The PBR's defeat pushes them down into second base via tiebreaker with the BB Kings. Moral leader and team consultant badass, Steve Bedrosian, made his first ever start in FRBI history. Unfortunately, his arm appeared tired from the overload in week 15 and was rocked by the Empire.
Willie McCovey hit 4 homeruns with 9 RBI to fuel the BB Kings to a 21-14 win and back into first place. Hollywood led until after the 5th inning when the BB Kings took control of the game. Down 15-6 in the top of the 8th, Hollywood scored 7 runs to get back in the game, but the BB Kings quickly responded with 6 runs in the bottom half of the 8th. Doyle Alexander put out the fire in the 8th and prevented any kind of Hollywood comeback in the 9th. Hollywood's loss drops them into 7th place via tiebreaker. Hollywood, Empire, and Tropicana all have 7-9 records with two games to go. With Canada and the High Fives one game back at 6-10, the wildcard round remains open.

'
During the live broadcasts on Twitch, there is often discussion about how Frank Robinson shouldn't be leading off and how bad he is from the leadoff position. In fact, there have been comments such as "idiotic" thrown around. He is hitting .483 with 12 jacks through 16 games. Scoring your game against Beefy right now. Robinson hit .578 with 14 homeruns in the Arcade season. Ideally, you want your leadoff guy to be in the .530 and up range for average with some pop to clean up the bottom half of the lineup, especially the pitcher to maximize run production.
I'll try and get two boxscores in today, possibly three so we can be good to go for week 17 tomorrow.
looks like twitch chat doesn't hold back punches
Hank Aarron sets new FRBI record by blasting 5 homeruns and knocking in 9 runners to lead the Ye Old Stylers to a narrow 28-26 thrilling win over the Beefy Masters.
Down 26-24 in the top of the 9th and with Don Sutton in to close out the game, the Beefy Masters got a leadoff single from Bruno. Johny Bench then followed with a 2-run shot to even up the high scoring affair at 26. Sutton then reached down and got Kingman, AdCock, and Armas out consecutively, Beefy's heart of the order. In the bottom of the 9th, Fergie Jenkins took the bump seeking to sustain the game into extra innings. The Old Stylers would have none of that.
Frank Robinson, who is highly criticized because of his leadoff role in the lineup, leadoff the the bottom half of the 9th with a single. Willie Mays then hit into a fielders choice leaving Robinson at second with one out. The stage was set for MVP candidate and Arcade World Series MVP, Hank Aarron.
Aarron drilled a laser line drive on the first pitch into the LF bleacher seats, seemingly in a flash. The Ye Old Styler stadium erupted into a chaotic frenzy as Hank's teammates rushed to greet him at home plate to mob him. Aarron's 27 HR gives him a little cushion as the league leader in homeruns.
The win gives the Old Stylers a season sweep over the Beefy Masters, putting them into 3rd place. The Beefy Masters drop to 4th place via tiebreaker with UHF. BeefMaster expressed concern over Bruce Sutter at this stage of the season with the playoffs coming up. Sutter, who was unhittable all season, has now surrendered 5 runs in two straight outings - certainly a legitimate concern as the playoffs approach.
Nacho has not replied to public concerns and a social media campaign to remove Frank Robinson from the leadoff spot.
Frank Robinson was the first black manager in MLB history. He's got the mental toughness to whether the media firestorm surrounding his lack of productivity this season.

Canada Shootys overcome early 9-1 deficit and get clutch hitting in the 9th as well as lights out pitching from bullpen to remain alive for the wildcard playoffs with close 18-15 win over Tropicana.
The Canada Shootys fell behind 9-1 after four innings before narrowing the must win game with a 5-run 5th to make it 9-6. They then scored 7 runs in the 6th to briefly take a 13-9 lead. The Tropicana Staircases, who also have a promising chance to make it into the Wildcard play-in playoff round, came right back to make it 13-13. In the bottom of the 7th, Tropicana took a 15-13 lead after a Strawberry RBI triple and a Cepeda RBI single.
In the 8th, Canada hit three doubles off The Rocket to make it 15-15. Brett Saberhagen then finally reminded the RBI world that he can still dominate anyone when his stuff is working - he pitched a scoreless and perfect 8th. Burks led off the 9th with a single off McDowell. Davey Johnson then knocked Burks in with a double that had a 200 mph exit velocity. After two consecutive flyballs, Don Mattingly drilled a 2-run blast wrapping around the RF foul pole to give Canada a cushion that was not eventually needed.
In the bottom of the 9th, Warren Spahn, who has been dreadfully abysmal all year, had his best relief appearance all year with a 1-2-3 9th to move into 9th place and just one game back of the three teams vying for a wildcard birth. The Shootys will have win their next two games and increase their run differential to secure a spot, or win 1 of their last 2 and get some help. Canada will face the High Fives and the Beefy Masters for their final two games.
Tropicana now holds the final wildcard spot. They will have a huge showdown with the Empire in week 17 and will have to win to remain in the playoff hunt.
"Big Daddy" Rick Reuschel pitches heroically in extra innings to help UHF Ch. 62 to a 21-15 huge win in 11 innings. Ultimate Chicago Channel 62 remain smoking hot with 4th straight win and peaking at the right time.
The extra inning win now puts UHF in 5th place via tiebreaker and only 1 game back of the first place BB Kings. With 2 games left for the season, the top two seeds and an automatic birth into the semi-finals remain wide open as well as seeds 3 and 4 which implies a bye during the Wildcard play-in playoff round.
Rick Reuschel now has an ERA of 5.40 with 11.2 innings pitched from the closer role.
The loss by the High Fives drops them into last place and in need of divine intervention to make the playoffs.
UHF will face the Beefy Masters today, and the High Fives will battle Canada later this evening.

May not show up in the boxscore but Chili Davis pulled out his cock and helicoptered that mfer all over the field.
I'll get 1-2 box scores today and wrap it up tomorrow. So the season finale will take place on Wednesday. For the wildcard play-in playoffs, the teams bubble will take place in San Jose, California.
Then for the divisional playoffs, the teams' playoff bubble will be in Encinitas, California.
The FRBI Super League World Series will be back in Las Vegas.
I hear that Spartan Stadium is being retrofitted just to mimic the exact specifications of Tengen Stadium.
Beefy Masters quickly dismantle UHF Ch.62 in 1st inning mercy rule slaughter. Beefy Masters sent 16 hitters to the plate and registered 14 hits, 7 doubles, 3 homeruns, and only 2 outs recorded. Dickie Thon smacked 2 homeruns in the first inning and his last sent the crowd home before their seats were warm and beers finished.
The Beefy Masters victory moves them into 3rd place and they will make a trip to Canada for the season finale. With a win and a PBR loss, the Beefy Masters will capture the #2 seed and a birth into the Final Four. A loss and a Old Stylers win would move them into 4th place, even if UHF also wins (Beefy Masters swept UHF).
UHF is currently in 5th place and a loss combined with an Empire win would push them into 6th place and the WildCard play-in round. UHF can not place higher than 4th place due to tiebreakers. They will conclude their season against the 1st place BB Kings.

Huge 11-run 9th inning and solid bullpen pitching push PBR past Hollywood in what was a tight game going into the 9th inning with the score even at 11.
Babe Ruth strengthened his MVP case with 3 homeruns and 9 RBI and the PBR bullpen was outstanding once again with only 1 run surrendered between Bedrock and Fernando. In the top of the 9th and the score all tied up, Yaz led off with a pinch hit HR to spark the PBR hitters and PBR ran away with a 11-run rally. Fernando pitched a scoreless 9th to eliminate any ideas of a Hollywood comeback and he now leads the league in ERA. The Blue Ribbons remain in second place and a win could see them capture the #1 seed depending on the PBR gamed and a loss with a Beefy Master win would see them do no worse than 3rd place.
For Hollywood who now are in 7th place, the 4 double plays they hit into (2 by Tenace) devastated the chances for big innings and scoring opportunities and thus certainly played a big role in their loss. Hunter and Garrelts couldn't hold off the Blue Ribbons in the 8th and 9th. Hollywood will earn a wildcard play-in birth with a win over the Empire in the season finale, and a loss would still earn a birth depending on how the other teams in contention play out - Hollywood is in good shape with their run differential.
Mantle Chili and Babe go a combined 17 for 21. Damn.
BB Kings hold off late surge by the Ye Old Stylers and remain in first place. Raines hits 3 homeruns, DzDean shuts down last gasp Old Styler rally in the 9th.
The BB Kings built a 22-12 lead going into the last half of the 9th, but the Old Stylers awoke with a 7 run rally and finally knocking Jimmy Key out of the game. In the bottom of the 9th, J.Foxx led off with a moonshot that loudly ricocheted off the CF scoreboard to make it 22-20 in favor of the BB Kings. Dizzy Dean was unfazed and in businesslike fashion, got the next two hitters out without a fuss to pick up the save.
Frank Robinson is hitting over .700 since he was heavily hammered on social media with criticism for being the leadoff hitter. The Ye Old Stylers will conclude the year against the PBR. A loss can see them finish 6th at worst while a win can put them in 3rd place at best.
The BB Kings will clinch the #1 seed with a win or a PBR loss in the season finale. They have clinched a Final Four birth and will get much needed rest considering the tragic news of Joe Morgan in the physical world.
High Fives come from behind and outscore Canada 19-5 after the 5th inning to blow game open. Doc Gooden cruising with 12-6 lead until the fatal 6th inning. Vida Blue and Brett Saberhagen both weren't on and couldn't limit the High Five hitters.
Mark McGwire's 5-6 showing, 3 HR's, and 6 rbi places him first in average, second in homers, and first in rbi's. Koufax and Grove both pitched effectively in only allowing 5 runs over the last 5 innings which allowed the High Fives to get back in the game and eventually win it.
The High Fives will need to win their season finale against the Tropicana Staircases to earn a ticket into the playoffs. A loss will almost certainly end their season. On the other hand, Canada has to win their last game of the season against the Beefy Masters and then get a lot of help. Their narrow path to the playoffs will be for a Hollywood loss and then outscore the Beefy Masters by at least 20 runs to have a chance for WildCard playoffs.
Bonds ties FRBI hit record in a game with 7 and the Empire used balanced hitting along with Drysdale's complete game to easily beat the Tropicana Staircases.
Drysdale settled down after a turbulent first two innings and the Empire's lineup all contributed to a productive day. The Empire is now in 6th place and in good position for a ticket to the either the Wildcard play-in round or even a #4 seed depending on how the Old Stylers and UHF do today. The surging Empire, who are now 6-1 in their last 7 games, will finish their regular season against the Hollywood Star Whackers who have just picked up a new bullpen before the free agency waiver wire closes with the first pitch of week 18.
Tropicana is currently in 9th place and will need to win to lock a playoff spot. A loss can still get them in, but they'll need help to do so. They'll conclude their season against the High Fives.

After seeing the last set of weekly stats, I was going to make a post noting that my JUST HIT DINGERS team design led to an impressive result in which I had no stolen bases, walks, or sacrifice flies, and then I went and got TWO sac flies this week.
Rough game for the Shooty defense... that throw off the wall in the first inning to let the pitcher reach with two outs was especially brutal.
I drafted great. Even made some traded to upgrade my offense. I thought I would easily have a top 3 team.
Finished 6-12. What a shitty season.
Sure sounds like coaching, then
My team is so weird. We'll have games where we can't stop hitting and then some games where we are ice cold. This was a "can't stop hitting" game.
Glad I changed my RPs up! Obviously, the new blood did something to impact Krukow - there were rumors of some bad blood between him and Garrelts going back to their Giants days.
Hollywood routes The Empire in 5 inning mercy rule blowout and earn ticket to the Wildcard play-in round as the #6 seed. The 12-run victory by Hollywood gave them the run differential tiebreaker edge over the Empire which pushed them into the 6th seed.
Although the newly acquired relief pitchers Senõr Smoke and Pedro Borbón didn't make an appearance, they both have a positive impact in the clubhouse by injecting new blood in the chemistry mix. Krukow brilliantly responded by pitching the entire 6 innings and only allowed 6 runs. Krukow was 3rd in ERA going into the season finale and his superb pitching all year has surprised many FRBI obersvers. Hollywood's hitters were hitting everything and scored 19 runs in 6 innings. Hornsby's grand slam gave stunned the Empire and the Empire never recovered. Hollywood will now await the winner of the #7 Empire vs #8 Tropicana Wildcard game in San Jose, California this weekend at PAL Stadium. The winner will earn the #6 seed and will face the #3 seed in a 5-game series.
Beefy Masters earn #2 seed and automatically advance to the semi-finals with 23-8 mercy rule route in 7 innings. Bruno caps career year with 5 hits and 3 homeruns to finish exactly at .700. Sutcliffe went all 7 innings with great location and keeping hitters off balance with his change of speeds. The Beefy Masters will now get to rest with a wildcard round bye and a qtr final bye.
For Canada, who were picked by many to finish in the top 4, it was a disappointing year in the shadow of high expectations. Gooden had his worst year, hitters weren't consistent, the team speed was a liability, and the bullpen was a disaster with Saberhagen having his worst year as well. Even a trade for Roger Marris didn't turn around the season.
At least four of those runs Blue gave up were unearned, too (no idea if you're bothering to separate earned/unearned runs, which I realize is a pain in the ass) - with two outs in the first and six runs in already after a Lombo homer, Sutcliffe hit a grounder that the second baseman fielded on the way to cover first, then threw away for a two-base error. My 1-3 batters then went homer-single-homer to make it a ten-run inning. May have been the same story with the runs Gooden gave up in the 7th to end it as well.

The boxscore I run calculates all that. Sutcliffe's grounder was scored as a hit by me because that is a glitch that happens fairly often when the 1B runs away from first base when the 2B fields and throws it away. Since the glitch happens at least twice a game, I just score it as a hit, but then score the runner advancing to second as an error after the hit.
So I'll score a game right now, and hope to get the last two in tomorrow. So it is looking like the wildcard round will take place Sunday morning, about 10 to 11 am or so. I was in Santa Cruz today and will be in SF all day on Saturday, so time is limited here in my hometown of San Jose.
BB Kings break game open in the 8th with 8-run rally to win 25-13. Ghost of Joe Morgan gets standing ovation in first at-bat and has good night with 4 hits. BB Kings pitching too much for UHF Ch.62 - Key and Marichal were masterful. BB Kings lock #1 seed and semi-final birth. UHF Ch. 62 secure #5 seed.
do i seriously keep batting morgan in the 3 hole? i think i'll run this out game 1
In a back and forth game, Ye Old Stylers overcome a 13-9 deficit and take command in the 8th by rocking flamboyant and star relief pitcher Bedrosian for 8 runs. Sutton held off last grasp PBR rally in the 9th. Babe Ruth made bonehead last out at 3rd base when he needlessly tried to go from 1st to 3rd on a Chili Davis single with two outs and PBR down 17-16. Will Clark would have taken the plate with runners on 1st and 3rd had Ruth remained at 3rd base.
Ye Old Stylers seize 4th place while PBR drops to 3rd place.
An emotional Steve Bedrosian gave a heart felt press conference after the game, apologizing to GM Ryno, his teammates, and PBR nation.
Tropicana storms back to defeat the High Fives down the stretch. Tropicana earns 7th seed with win and knock out the High Fives from the wildcard playoffs.
Tropicana outscored the High Fives 11-2 after the 5th inning, and came back after being down 20-14 going into the 8th inning. Tropicana's bullpen was outstanding and proved to be the difference.
Tropicana will face the Empire in the opening game of the Wildcard play-in playoffs. The winner will immediately face the Hollywood Star Whackers in order to earn a ticket to the 5-game series qtr final playoffs.
The wildcard play-in round will happen tomorrow at 10am PST from San Jose, Ca.

when is the next round of the playoffs?
I just arrived in Encinitas (north San Diego), and I'm about to post the wildcard game boxscores. The next round will begin tomorrow and it'll be 1-game a day for each team. PBR vs Tropicana and UHF ch.62 vs Old Stylers in a 5 game series. Rules for the playoffs can be found in the opening post of this thread.
Ojeda and Niekro shutdown the Empire's hitters, only allow 4 runs in brilliant pitching performance. Hack Wilson is back in playoff form with 5 hits, 3 homeruns, and 6 RBI to lead the #8 Staircases to the next Wildcard playoff game.
#8 Tropicana barely holds on in thrilling victory over Hollywood to advance to the Divisional Playoffs. Will face the Pabst Blue Ribbons.
McDowell strikes out the last two batters with a runner on second to preserve the 1-run lead in the bottom of the 9th. Cedpeda blasts a pair of homeruns while Mr. Playoffs Hack Wilson had his second consecutive 5 hit game and now is over .700 all time in the playoffs (Wilson had a torching playoff run with the Empire in the Arcade season). Tropicana's pitching is peaking at the right time and has only allowed 16 runs in 18 innings over the past two game.
damn enjoy the beach darky

'twas a treat to enjoy live
Ye Old Stylers erupt for 13-run rally in the bottom of the 9th to break game open and take game 1 with 29-19 huge win.
Down 19-16 and chasing UHF Ch.62 all game, the Old Stylers staged a furious rally by racking up 12 hits, 3 homeruns, and crossing home plate 13 times. Put simply, Don Gullet was shellacked.
Don Sutton pitched an undramatic 9th to secure the win, but it was the Old Styler bullpen and Cox's scoreless 7th that helped pave the way for a wild come from behind win for the Old Stylers. UHF failed to score down the stretch as their sticks disappeared.
Willie Mays homered three times, Hank Aarron blasted a pair and Ron Cey also blasted a pair to lead the Old Styler offense. For Ultimate, it was his organization's 5th straight loss in the FRBI playoffs - he was swept by Darkside's Empire in the Arcade Final Four series.
STYLIN'!

Defense didn't help him either, should Cy Young have gotten the W for that game?
The PBR-Tropicana boxscore will be coming shortly. Games 2 and 3 for the Divisional Series will go down tonight at 5 pm PST.
I've been in Encinitas/San Diego area and got back last night around 9pm. So there wasn't really time for the series, but hey, we got game 1 there!
Tropicana Staircases shocks Pabst Blue Ribbons by jumping out to 10-1 lead. PBR fought back to get in the game, but then Tropicana found another gear down the stretch to pull away for a game one 25-16 victory. Strawberry has best night of the season by delivering 3 homeruns and Tropicana's pitching in the playoffs remains outstanding.
PBR seemed nervous in the bright lights when they made the game close, but then fell apart when it mattered most and when production and pitching were needed most. Shots of Ryno being heartbroken go viral as meme on social media.

Where are the first two innings of Game 2 of the UHF/Old Stylers game?
You can catch it on my Twitch channel. I forgot to hit record when the game started :-\
Willie Mays, Jimmie Foxx and Hank Aarron spearhead Old Styler's offense by combining for 14 hits, 13 runs, 16 RBI, and 6 HR. Hank Aarron, who was MVP of the Arcade WS, continues to be at his best in the playoffs with a .769 average and went a perfect 6/6 against UHF. Ch.62. UHF did manage to cut into the early Old Styler lead throughout the game, but the pitching and hitting failed to seize momentum when opportunities were there. The Old Stylers now lead 2-0 in the best of 5 divisional series.
Hack Wilson carries Tropicana in come from behind win to take game 2. Clemens comes out of the bullpen to shutdown PBR.
Down 21-12 in the 7th and 22-15 in the 8th, Tropicana's sticks got going down the stretch and the Rocket's arm was nearly perfect in the 8th and 9th with no runs allowed as he picked up the win.
With the score even at 22 in the 9th, George Foster hit a go-ahead 2-run shot. Hack Wilson followed with his playoff leading 5th HR and raised his average to .789 for the series as he once again shows in the playoffs that he is perhaps the best weapon in the game. Cepeda hit a 2-run shot after a Strwbry double for extra added insurance that was not to be needed. Tropicana leads 2-0 in the series thus far.
UHF Ch.62's dramatic win in the 9th gets them back in the series and avoids sweep. Rick Reuschel earns win with arm and bat - Big Daddy hits leadoff triple in the bottom of the 9th with the score tied at 20. Gehrig then knocks him in with GWH to go along with big 6 hit game.
Hank Aarron continues scorching from the plate with 7-7 showing at the plate and now leads all playoff hitters with .850 average. The Ye Old Stylers managed to get back in the game after being down all game and overcame a 20-14 deficit in the 9th to tie the game, but it wasn't enough on a day when UHF finally found a way to win and get back in the series.
Down 2-0 in the Divisional series and 7-0 in the third inning, the Pabst Blue Ribbons rallied for 7 runs to recover momentum and the swag they flashed during the year. In the 7th, Chili Davis hit a go-ahead 3-run shot to give the Pabst Blue Ribbons a 14-12 lead. The Blue Ribbons held on to that lead as they outscored the Tropicana Staircases 13-6 down the stretch for a convincing win and avoiding a sweep.
Chili Davis went 6/7 with 2 homeruns and 7 RBI to lead the PBR balanced output. Fernando earned the win with his splendid showing in long relief. Team moral leader and consultant, Steve Bedrosian, was solid in relief and picked up the save.
Despite Tropicana's loss, Hack Wilson hit his playoff leading 8th homerun and is hitting a series leading .800.

When the season is on the line Whitey Ford steps up and Campanella had been so so all season, but really came through in Game 5
I don't think I'd ever seen back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back home runs before.
What are the odds the visiting team wins all 10 games? 1024/1 I do believe. Amazing.

Make that 12 games in a row! Tempo's Tropicana was the visiting team in their two straight wildcard round wins. It's crazy.
Sorry for the delay due to the election coverage last week and my trip to Zion Park in Utah. Throw in other family activities as well as well as hiking stuff here in the Vegas desert.
What's going to happen is that I'll get the boxscores finished from the divisional round this week.
The Final Four or league championship series will have to conclude when I get to Sweden next week. I leave Sunday and I'd rather continue when I get to Sweden when I'll have more time to dedicate to rest of the playoffs. Also, I want the playoffs to finish in a sustained way without any breaks and pauses due to vacation. So hang in there guys, we'll see a champion to the inaugural Super League by the end of this month.
The playoffs will resume next week. I'm shooting for next Wednesday. Sorry for the Covid and post election mayhem delay. I'll message and get the word out to all who are still alive for the FRBI Super League title.
Huzzah!
back in action baby
Two games left to score in the concluding games of the Divisional playoffs. Boxscores to come later today. Then I'll recap the playoffs and the LCS mathcups as well as set up a preliminary schedule. I can say now that the series will go one game at a time which makes my job easier.
Yeah, sorry about the pause. It just got to be too much of a job while I was on vacation in Vegas and Cali. Then the election mayhem news came along with December NFL. Nevertheless, the Super League is back baby!
When the season is over, there is one more unfinished league. It was the one Tempo had running for a bit before it folded. I'll think about it, but maybe another draft in March would be a better idea. Arcade or Super League, doesn't matter to me. Perhaps, you can do an Arcade league in the spring, then go Super League in the summer. Thoughts?
i dunno but super league is pretty fkn cool imo
I like the idea of a Super League, but the goal is to draft the worst team.

Loser league! Records are reversed, team who wins the fewest games is champion!
This is fknphenomenal. Also the games would be much shorter.
perhaps the loser league is just the season and no playoffs, unless there is a tie for last?
Three games to actually score and there are technical issues I am working on with my BallStat program and recovering the videos of the last two games between Nacho's team and Ultimate's. This is giving me fits, but now I just realized I can score the games from YouTube.
A loser's league doesn't sound appealing to me, but if it excites everyone, then maybe I can run that. If that were to happen, it would be easier on me to run the draft, then run a double elimination tournament? How does a double elimination loser's tournament work? Loser moves on? Whoa!
I'm in for any future leagues
I think I'd be in for a "shittiest team" league - sounds fun.
if theres only a tournament, you should be out once you win
Maybe try to win, but only players with 800 or less power allowed. I'm not sure if there are enough players
NO, try to lose
Try to lose is interesting. Bottom 4 make the playoffs, series loser advances?
I like all this.
Keep the loser league discussion going, it actually sounds really fun!
Update on my situation with the Super League and technical shit going on. Long story, but here it is in a nutshell: I had to recover the BallStat statistics for the Divisional playoffs since I saved it to an external hard drive and then I found out it wasn't compatible with the BallScore application on my laptop's hard drive. So after excruciating nerdery, I finally got it fixed and I am still enraged because it was so time consuming.
Okay, enough of that BS. I'll do my best to get 1 of 3 boxscores done today, and then the last two will come tomorrow. If I am motivated enough, they'll come tonight. It's a full moon and fresh snow is covering the forest, so I am taking my tripod and camera to get some epic moonlit and snowlit pics.
Tentatively, Game 1 of the LCS/semi-finals will go down Saturday. After the boxscores are done, I'll layout a schedule for all the games that will happen live on Twitch. We may go consecutive days so the series is done before the Super Bowl. Then the WS will follow the SB.
