Well, Dirt, RBI, and I hung out this afternoon and played some RBI, here are the results (Mr. RBI is NY each game)...
A few things to note, one, we played complete anything goes style (hence the high strike out total), two, I saw Dirt's "cheat" pitch, I love that fucking pitch, I just want to know what controller he uses since mine doesn't allow for enough fluid movement to do it online...Well, here they are
1st game, I won 1-0, I was in a run down between 2nd and 3rd, RBI through it to third into the wall, and I scored easily, it should be noted, that I hit a double on the next pitch, and a single after that, so he would have scored anyway, still unearned
Game 2, I had him at second in a run down, but ran to third (I was in the middle of the infield) instead of second, and threw to second narrowly missing my pitching to send it into the center field wall, unearned run totally...
Game three was between Dirt and RBI, Dirt was san fran, made one bad pitch the entire game, and RBI (not sure who it was with, Carter maybe?) pulled it over the left field fence.
i stipulate that the lag as a factor--for all of us, though. and yeah, it was carter. get carter.
where's my game 4 revenge?!
Last time i struckout that much was at a Bar called Yankee Doodles.Ouch....I need to get my eyes checked out..Great online challege. I still feel i would'nt lose a complete series.
I think Mr. RBI will tone it down a bit, and he just desperately wanted to play...
Game 4 was epic, extra innings, RBI didn't know not to take Ojeda out early and put McDowell in in the 7th (8th?) whereas Dirt kept Ojeda and subbed him in in the 9th or 10th, attached is the box score
Like i said i will lose a game here and there but will never lose a series..Good game Dirt. I know i made a mistake.Bad move by me ...You made all the right moves..
Was i any good? I know you guys thought i was all talk....but come on ..you have to admit i was strong......Dirt had to be my Mets to beat me...That was like a Jedi mind trick....It had me thinking all game long....
These box scores show just how badly the nintendo revolution needs to have rbi capabilities. If I could play anything goes rbi over the internets with no lag, I wouldn't even need the million dollars from that blow job I just gave.
I think a lot of the problem isn't so much lag, but it's how fluid your controller is, I'm gonna order one of those Nintendo controllers, and test it against JoeDirt...I think if we have little to no lag (which I've learned happens a decent amount of time) we can get a pretty reasonable anything goes game in.
And like I said RBI, you seem like you'd be pretty decent on an NES with s'more practice to get back in the thick of it...I do believe that both Dirt and I could easily beat you on an NES, but I think if you get back in shape you'd be above average.

I thought you'd go 0-4 if we played four games against you, but I expected them to be low scoring affairs...And yes, I'm 100% certain that I could beat you on an NES...

So yeah, I was wrong about you not winning at all, and there was very little lag in our two games, it picked up a bit near the middle of your first game against Dirt (if I remember correctly)...I really believe it has less to do with lag and more to do with the fluidity of the controller you use.

Mrs RBI, I think you were okay in the games I saw you play. Actually, when you played Attezz, I thought you both sucked ass. But then when I played you, I realized it was because of the lag or motion of the game...it wasn't the normal pace of an online game...supported by the extra high SOs and the extra low scoring.
Also, I'm confident enough that I can beat you in a series that I will bet you straight cash money, homey (paypal)--if you're interested.

Actually, Mrs RBI, if you look at it, you realize you got 15 hits in 4 games...and gave up 27. Further, you hit only 4 extra base hits in 4 games and you gave up 10 extra base hits in those same 4 games...Some might see that as lucky to have gone 2-2...

Untrue; I scored 3 runs in the first game tonight alone...also, Gooden did pitch well in that last game (you still lost), but he was only no-no through 6--I got my first hit with my first batter of the 7th inning.

Exactly, it's the same with me, OctoFranco and I constantly play 5 or seven game series (depending on how much time we have), and I can't even count how many times it's gone to extra innings in the decisive game, doesn't mean I'm less of a player because he wins, or vice versa.
Sunday night we're playing at his house (around midnight) I'll see if I can get him to play a game or two against Mr.
Also, as Mista said, it's not about stats Joe, it's about the "W", you beat him 3 of 4, but you only scored a few more runs than him...Wait, what??

JNES is a good emulator that the newtplay is called some Japan word starting with K, and it is used for netplay with Gens and MAME and alot more. There are a lot of servers, and usually nobody uses JNES to go on it, so if you find a server with low ping, lag will not be a factor

Kaillera? I've been thinking of trying to get that working with MAME to play some MK with an old high school buddy. I looked at it through MAME32k (a Kaillera-enabled Windows version of MAME), and it seems to be pretty simple to use, plus the servers I found online didn't appear to have too high a ping (I didn't play anything, though). If we could get that working, we could play regular arcade RBI over the 'net, too.

Noah...you should play Mr RBI...he's pretty good. He gets pissed when I point out that I beat him 3 out of 4 times, but in his defense, he insists on using only NY...I won't even mention that he only scored 1 run off of me in those 4 games. :) Actually, despite it all, all 4 games were pretty tight.
