Center looks shorter, but only if you don't correct for the angled perspective (because you're not looking at the field from directly overhead).  The actual distance is longer, and I think experience shows that it's harder to hit homers to CF as well.

ive never seen this so called view that makes center field look shorter/closer than down the lines.   ???

to me it always looked obvious that CF was the long way.

When fighton did his original measurements, he just measured distance, like in pixels, and it was shorter, or maybe about the same.
