I turned 2 triple plays in one game against my roommate.  He was pissed.  Now that is a rally killer.  My team, the Minnesota Twins are the only team in MLB history to actually accomplish this feat against Boston.  I think it was Gaetti, Newman, Hrbek twice!

broiler mentioned my 5 HR in a row stretch with Boston in another thread. I would like to mention it again.

it was merely an attempt to keep you interested in the series as a whole, which i won

I batted around the American League order two full times the other day.  Cal Ripken led off the inning, I got up to him again, then went around once more, before Cal made the 3rd out of the inning.  I scored 19 runs that inning.  Quite a few homers too, but I forget how many I had.

With STL as my official team, I think your winning ways against me have come to an end.

These aren't really oddities or personal records, but just fun things to try:

hitting a homerun into the black box (we all know that one)

hitting a homer into a zero on the scoreboard

hitting a homer into the lights

hitting a homer in between the 1st/2nd or 2nd/3rd flagpoles

hitting a homer through the LF or RF wall (no explanation)

hitting a homer with Ozzie Smith (always exciting)

hitting a homerun with a pitcher (has it ever been done)?

hitting a homer in between the lightpoles

throwing out a runner at 1st from the outfield

catching a fly ball in the LF or RF corners of the field

hitting an extremely high popup, right in front of home plate

hitting a homerun into the triangles just to the left and right of the black box under the scoreboard (I've done it)

hitting a foul ball that goes straight back of home plate

getting an inside the park homer with a pitcher

getting a hit that lands on the LF or RF chalk

throwing a 9-inning no-hitter with one pitcher

winning a game by hitting zero homeruns

winning a game by bunting every at bat

There are lots more weird things to do I guess and some of these are already well-known by everyone.

There are a few people here who claim to have seen it done, but the only one I can recall who did it while a member of the forums (usually, the stories are of homeruns hit done years ago) was Baines, who hit one through the wall with Nolan Ryan on his arcade machine.  I believe Baines, and I think it's possible for pitchers to hit homers through the wall but not over the fence.

I've never seen a pitcher homer, but one of my main bases for belief (other than the claims by Baines and others) occurred in a Fantasy RBI game a couple years ago, when Jimmy Key hit one off the base of the wall.  It was a custom ROM, not a cartridge, but it used the default pitcher data, and the game was recorded so everyone could see it.

Well I managed to do one of the above today that I listed.  I won a game by 10 runs without hitting a homer.  I was American vs. Houston.

Time of game - 10:00 (probably more seconds though).

Glenn Davis hit a solo homer in the bottom of the 5th to break up Henke's no-hit bid.

My stats:

AB - 32
H - 18
2B - 12
3B - 2
HR - 0
K - 0
BB - 0
SB - 0
ER - 1 (My 2B bobbled it, so I just let it sit there until the runner got close, then tagged him out, and the hit wasn't recorded)!

I did something similar against National.  Schmidt got a hit to the outfield, I let him get to 3rd base, so he stopped. But I made sure there was a fielder to the left of 3rd baseman (I kept throwing the ball from 2nd to 1st, and back so it wouldn't go to the next hitter), so I purposely walked off 3rd with the third baseman, and threw the ball to where the fielder was standing. Schmidt took off, but I had the ball, got him out at home, no hit recorded, heh heh.

Houston had 16 AB's, 1 hit, 1 homer, and 1 error also.

And I had my greatest inning ever a few days ago.  In 16 minutes I beat St. Louis 38-1, in 3 innings.  I must've batted around the order almost 3 full times, as I scored 35 runs in the 3rd inning (3 in the 2nd).   McGwire had 2 grand slams in the inning, everyone must have had at least 1 hit.  Here are the stats:

AB - 51
H - 43
2B - 17
3B - 4
HR - 11
SO - 1
BB - 1
SB - 0
ER - 0

The Cards had 11 AB's, 3 Hits, 1 double, 1 Hr, and 2 errors, and they were beating me 1-0 after the first inning.

I also beat the Cards with California 16-0 in one inning, in 5-something minutes.  17/20 in hits, 6 doubles, 2 triples, 5 homers, 1 whiff.
