A thread to report who is tearing it up and who is stinking it up in your recent RBI battles (orignal NES version).

I've been playing with the Angels lately, and Ruppert Jones is red hot for me. 3-for-3 with 2 HR in last night's rout of the CPU.

Not sure how this is possible, but I've been hitting better with Ruppert than Reggie!

Ruppert is clutch.  Easily my favorite player on RBI.  The last time I played RBI, I was Detroit for several games.  Darrell Evans mashed the ball and Tom Brookens had a couple of multi-homer games.

I don't know if anyone else gets this, but if I hit a 'wallzie' it is almost always with Brookens.  Dare I say that Brookens is the King of the Wallzie?

Bill Mueller is hot. Jason Varitek is not. Ever. Kevin Millar's pretty cold too.

That underrated Astro Craig Reynolds went 2-for-2 with two clutch HRs in Houston's 12-2 victory over CPU California.

(I straight pitch to the CPU batters)

Jeffrey Leonard had 2 three run homers in a game I played against the Na all-stars.  He was solid in all 4 games that I played with SF this weekend.  Definitely had the most power potential

Leonard is a beast.

I always hit those line drive HRs with Mitchell, Leonard and Maldonado.

edfan

Absolutely.  All of Leonard's homers were off of inside pitches that were shots right down the line.  Line drives that would go about half way up into the stands.

I never thought Leonard was all that great, but after he absolutely tore up the Fantasy RBI league a few years ago, I've been paying more attention to him.  He's surprisingly reliable for the Giants... I think I'd underrated him because I wasn't as familiar with him as teammates like Will Clark, Chili Davis, and Kevin Mitchell.

Leonard is legit. He has above average contact, power, and speed ratings. He's played some great games for me back in the day. He's also a very productive Fantasy RBI player.
