Is it possible that the forum date was wrong when it started and was later corrected to August 11?  I still don't see how it would've preserved the date on the posts and not the users, but it's a possibility, I guess.

the dee nee forums definitely existed in early 2002.  i remember where i was when i signed up (yes, my life is that sad) and it was an apartment that i moved out of in may 2002.
