Squeezed in a series with JIMJAM tonight, great games good fun.

Game 1

After not playing RBI for 20 yrs, JIMJAM and the Pirates came out dealing in a low scoring nail biter. Ben 'Girl Parts' Sheets and his relief corps were too much for the Athletics, tossing a combined four hit shutout. Edinson 'Afro' Volquez was also very good on a tough night for the hitters, making a single mistake to Jason 'One Year Wonder' Bartlett which was clobbered into the skyline. The Athletics had their chances in the 9th with an exhausted Octavio 'Gas' Dotel, but were put down looking at some phat pitches for called 3rd strikes.

Game 2


The nightcap of the doubleheader had the Pirates all but gassed from the superb performance in game one(and JIMJAM spent most of the game doing his best Jim Abbott impersonation, playing one handed while taking a phone call). Paul 'Rock Me Amadeus' Maholm couldnt duplicate the effort of Ben Sheets and served up some tasty batting practice beach balls to a hungry Athletics lineup. Zach 'Ace.. Not!' Duke was tough on the Pirates and delivered a one hitter in a shortened contest to earn a split in the series.
