Rbi stadium?

My friend and I had a debate the other day over which current major league stadium most closely resembles the stadium used in RBI baseball.  I said that the stadium was a spitting image of wrigley, with the layout of the seats and the big scoreboard out in centerfield.  However, there is no ivy on the walls.  my friend agreed.

     I think the rbi stadium might be a dodger stadium replica.  Seating in left and right but scoreboard in center.

i think it resembles kaufman stadium in kansas city...  it looks like a small market stadium.    its too bad they cant pay the money to get the jumbotron fixed.

It would have to have some kind of water if it was Kauffman.  Plus there are way too many outfield seats to be Kauffman.  With some ivy, it would be most like Wrigley.

yeah but kaufman stadium is out in the middle of no where... wrigley is in the neighborhood... an intimate setting... i dont see that at tengen field.

Kauffman isn't in the middle of nowhere.  It is right in the KC city limits.  I'll take a good look at it again when I go there on Sunday and report back.

what i meant by no where is there are no buildings in the background as there are in downtown ballparks.  i know the fountains are lacking but to me the tengen stadium is close to kaufman...  the turf was there in the 80s too.

First of all, I cant believe that the topic of the RBI stadium is being discussed.  Keep in mind that this is 16 bit of graphics that we are talking about   haha.
Secondly, its definately not Wrigley Field because the scoreboard is electronic and there are lights in the outfield.  Also, the fireworks explode when homers are hit.  All of that cancels out the chance of being Wrigley.  You probally think now that im going to put in a plug for Comiskey Park (since the Sox are my team), but i am not considering we were screwed out of a nice stadium and Camden Yards and Jacobs Field were built.  However, i will say that a better guess of the stadium would be either the old Oakland Collisseum or the old County Stadium in Milwaukee, only with a scorebord in the center, but still with the light towers.

Tengen Stadium is misleading, and I don't think that it was made to look like any MLB ballpark at the time.  If any, I guess it would resemble Three Rivers or the Vet (or any of those other piece of crap Pennsylvanian ballparks that are outdoors and have an artificial surface).  Riverfront (w/ a-turf) or Royals Stadium may be a good call, as the good makers of RBI were certainly not thinking when they put a scoreboard in centerfield, astroturf, and only night games.  

The burnt-out jumbotron might have another purpose....maybe it's the batter's eye (or dark backdrop behind the pitcher that exists to enhance the batter's ability to pick up the ball).  RBI might have been before its time, but most ballparks nowadays would include this feature.

My guess is it's Dodger Stadium with astroturf.

is there a chance it might resemble some of the parks in  japan at the time??....for the most part, they developed the game...
