If John Tudor gets a base hit, and Vince Coleman comes up with Tudor on first and Coleman hits an inside the park homer, will he catch Tudor on the basepaths?  I haven't ever seen this happen, but I'd imagine that he'd come pretty close.

No. Because Vince wouldn't be able to go past first until Tudor crosses second, second till he crosses third...and so on.

So...No.

But after said sequence of events, he would still come kind of close. About 1/3 of the way as Tudor touches home....or?

I'm pretty sure he can't advance past 3rd (I think at each base) until Tudor scores

This is true...

Only in RBI

Big Hath

how long does it take Tudor to go from base to base?  What about Coleman?

Do these pants make me look fat?

I think we already answered that question in Anything Goes.

Fast enough that he would have to wait at every single base, including first, before continuing.

I mean exact times

someone should figure out at exactly what point Coleman would catch Tudor if he didn't have to wait

lets just bug nightwulf about it till he figures out a way to disable the command that gets coleman to wait for tudor, then we'll know.

That would make the game much more interesting and put baserunning at a premium.

Briznock

You should be able to go back a base too even if you get to the next one....

This always killed me since I am the king of stealing on every pitch... Vince or Ozzie would get to 2nd on a Jack Clark fly ball and I was hosed... Even though they could easily get back to first

correcto-mundo!  it doesnt happen often, but at handful of times in a 10 game span where you get fucked out of a run thanks to the baserunning "glitch".  it never fails to bite you in the ass when you get that base hit with 2 outs as well.  it is immutable that the next guy will get out.
