this message was allegedly shown on the Shea stadium scoreboard during game six of the world series when the mets were down to their last out, before the rally started.  i think i remember seeing this on a replay of the game at some point, but I can't find a picture of this online...you'd think it would be pretty common.  has anyone seen this online?  i'd also love to get this game on DVD...although when i searched amazon.com, it didn't seem like they had it.

i want to buy a 2002 san fransisco giants hat that says they are world series champs and pretend like they didn't blow it.  there's gotta be some leftover

I always heard they destroyed those as soon as they lost. But apparently there are more than a few authentic 1986 world champs Red Sox shirts and hats hanging around.

It's too bad nowadays it's too easy to actually produce fakes.

TempoGL

i think a fake one would do just fine for broiler's purpose.

i should get a fake white sox 2005 world champs hat...oh wait.  oops

There's a funny clip from some sports radio show that they played awhile back.  Someone asked what they do with all of the pre-made stuff for the losers in a championship series.  Turns out that it's sent to 3rd world countries.  The host says, "They must think that the Buffalo Bills are the greatest team ever!"

were they making memoribilia like that in 1919?  i'd be surprised if 1919 cincinnati reds world series champ hats had ever been sold.

Not exactly hats and shirts, but you'd get bracelets and souvenir programs, world champ cigars. Pretty much everything you can get nowadays with the exception of shirts and hats.

TempoGL

that and pizza cutters that play ed farmer's commentary as the white sox recorded the final out in the world series.  i almost bought one of these suckers.

I own a "The Ya-ya-ya-yankees win" bottle opener.

I believe it begins with "Jeter, hard to right, grand slam"

It's truly awful.

broiler

its odd that i think homer simpson is hilarious, but absolutely can not stand those homer simpson bottle openers.
