...against a buddy of mine who was all hotshot about thinking he would beat me.

Rules: ATG, no reset between games.

He took Detroit. I took Boston.

Game 1: Roger Clemens goes 7 1/3 shutout innings, until Kirk Gibson takes him yard with one out in the 8th. Darrell Evans takes Schiraldi yard on the 2nd pitch Schiraldi throws to make it 2-0 going into the bottom of the 9th. After Tony Armas singles with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th, Wade Boggs of all people takes Eric King over the right field fence to tie the game at 2. Three pitches later, Jim Rice makes it back-to-back jacks for a 3-2 win.

Game 2: Having brought Hurst in to pitch the 9th/possible extras, we're both playing with our relievers. Calvin Schiraldi goes 6 strong for me, only allowing a 1st-inning home run to Gibson. With 2 on in the 2nd inning, my buddy intentionally walks Rich Gedman to pitch to Spike Owen. Except, I substitute Hendu for Spike, who promptly uses every last bit of his 64-point PH power boost to deposit the grand slam into the 2nd row in left center. Hendu adds a 2nd dinger later on for 5 RBIs in a 7-2 victory. I also end up nailing at least 7 of his runners off basepaths in this game.
