Yo guys, long time no chat.

So, here's my dilemma.  I recently moved from Seattle to Atlanta and with me came my RBI arcade cabinet.  I gave selling the cabinet a thought just because it costs so much to move items that big and heavy.  But nonetheless, I moved the cabinet with me, hauled it up three flights of stairs and I've got it in my place now.  Lights worked, it turned on fine and everything, but for some reason I cannot get any of the buttons to do anything.

I am able to add credits to the game via the switch inside the machine just fine, but the starts and none of the A or B buttons will do anything.  Must be a loose connection or something, but I wanted to see if any of you might be able to offer any help.

I've never really serviced my game myself.  I had a guy come over and clean it out with a vacuum and he found a slew of quarters inside, but I've never had to have it repaired or anything.  I don't really want to have to pay to have someone come out and look at it, so any suggestions on what might get it working?

Thanks everyone.

Duane

there are some websites that people have made showing how they made their own arcade cabinets and things like that, you might try finding and emailing them.

Or you could try to get in touch with people that sell the buttons and other hardware online to see if they could help.

they seem to come around only when they need something.

awesome.  you know duane, arcade machines need love too!

seriously, your best bet would be contacting someone who refurbishes or repairs arcade machines and see what advice they have.  i think about 4 guys here have machines, though...

I fear the day when my Arcade machine won't work anymore.  I'm no good at fixin' stuff.

The buttons on my RBI machine were not responding after I moved it to my basement, it was a loose cable going to the motherboard... ...it was an easy fix... ...mine is a VS. machine so not sure if it's the same setup.
This has been changed recently to a statement about it being changed.
