He was shit tons better than Grace.

He played in an odd period.  That late 80s / early 90s era was bad for stats --- 23 homers put him in the top 10 one year.   The mid 90s and on is heralded as the steroid era.

He's good enough to get some votes, but not good enough for induction.  I never said he was hall worthy --- just should have gotten more consideraton.


I thought he won the batting title in '89 with that .333 average.   I guess not too many people won a batting title during those years other than Tony Gwynn.

It's hard to choose who was better. Clark had the much better power numbers, Grace was well, graceful, hitting for average and getting a shitload of doubles, I don't think he got to 500 either, I know Clark didn't. Maybe he did....

The both retired too early, killing their HOF chances, they could've gone a couple more seasons with solid production.

Grace never had 100 rbi in a season or hit 20 homers, neither guy stole much, I'd say Clark is better by a LITTLE.

Christalmightyinafuckinghandbag!  I'm the biggest Cub homer in the entire universe, but I know Mark Grace couldn't hold Clark's jock.

Grace was a good hitting second baseman trapped inside a first baseman's body.

Clark was a legit power threat / run producer with a good glove.  He is also cajun, which is nice.
