MR R.B.I.

Is it out of the question to ever produce a stat extractor for R.B.I.? I know I asked this before, but I like to see if there is some chance. I mean maybe its possible to modify either the game or an emulator.

MR R.B.I.

Just wondering since someone is claiming they are working on a stat extractor. They said something about redoing the emulator or game itself. I have no clue what their talking about. I told them you told me it was not possible to make it happen since game does not keep individual stats.

Thanks for reply!

I'm pretty sure no one in the world has claimed to actually be working on a RBI stat extractor, in the TSB sense of the matter, given that there aren't individual stats to extract.  Other than the already noted, yet painful, rewriting of an emulator or external program, I did hypothosize that a movie file from an emulator may contain patterns for hits and other stats that could be easily searched out.  However, that's more about my ignorance of the inner workings of emulator recorders as I believe they mainly just record which buttons you press and the directions that base themselves on the game always playing exactly the same, relative to it's internal clock.

I'm slightly curious about this just in terms of being a fan of NES and emulation as opposed to actually playing RBI baseball, which I don't.  I do recognize it's awesomeness, which is why I'm hosting Mr. RBI's league along with other Tecmo Leagues.  However, I'm quite certain that since the game stats can be displayed that those stats along with who you played, what teams were involved, and who won can be easily pulled and then uploaded to a web site, incase anyone is interested.

So, as much as PEOPLE LOVE CONSTANT POSTS IN CAPS ASKING THE SAME SHIT ALL THE TIME,  it would seem that MR RBI should turn this down a notch and stick to blatent league whoring before he drops down to the Donnie Moore level.

Savage.

I think a stat extractor would be at least possible - you'd have to have something monitoring the location in memory where the game keeps track of the stats to put into the box score, then note who was batting and pitching when one of them was incremented (particularly for H, BB, and K, and you could probably do RBI that way, too) and increment the totals for that batter/pitcher.  It seems like writing a standalone program that monitors the game would be easier than integrating it into the game, but I don't know that either of them would be exactly "easy".
