Help needed with online play (Mac OS)

Hello,

My friend and I are in need of assistance with regard to online play. We live in different states, and have been unable to successfully setup a network game. We're using the Nestopia v1.4.1 emulator, and we both have Macs. I've read the FAQ stuff on this site, but the info on online play seems specific to PCs (if there is Mac-specific info, please direct me to it).

These are the steps we've followed:

• Downloaded and installed the Nestopia v1.4.1 emulator
• Downloaded and installed the Emulator Enhancer v2.3
• Created a ROM and shared it between the two of us; downloaded the ROM and attempted to play it via the emulator
• Hosted a network game through the Nestopia Options screen, sharing the IP address

When we enter the IP address, it seems to hang for a while, then reports that it can't find the network, or can't make the connection. We can't seem to be able to get beyond this point.

Any idea what the problem is? Has anyone been successful playing a friend online using this emulator on a Mac environment? Any information you could share would be appreciated.

Not sure about Mac OS, but our league (RBI.sweethoss.com) runs nestopia 1.40 with the kaillera peer to peer (no servers!) client quite successfully. Do both of you have macs? I'm pretty sure it won't work cross operating systems.
