On ESPN Classic right now:

1987 NLCS St Louis Cardinals v. San Fransisco Giants

!!!!!!!!!

Ugh, just ended, actually.

But some highlights:

* Don Robinson got the loss.
* Todd Worrell got the save.
* Jim Lindeman was the player of the game, hitting a 2 run bomb.
* Home Run Harry hit a PINCH HIT solo shot in the 9th inning!!!

IT'S ALIVE!   :D

That game was fuckin' T-I-G-H-T!!!  I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed that game (though a little disappointed in the outcome) to the point that it officially receives my "Highlight of the Day Award."

Brought me back to my days when I used to love baseball.  Now I'm just sorta that 'casual follower,' meaning 'only playoffs' type of guy.

Smoked, How many of those guys had you ever seen play before?  It's funny for me realizing you were what, 4 years old when that game was played.

BTW if you want to get a few games in shoot me an email, I'm a little busier this time of year but I could still play, maybe a Wed/Thur night like 8-10 or some weekends late afternoon.

TIGHT! I was only 6 then and i remember those games.  That is why i like the cardinals so much in this game.  Jim Lindeman hit a pill over the wall?  I missed the espn classic game today and dont remember that one off hand. Saw Jim Edmonds going yard dog over the wall last night while sitting in the Stadium Club at Busch stadium getting super tight at the free bar.

Very few.  I started following baseball in '89, right around kindergarten.  I was a big Cubs and Giants fan (thanks to my dad being stationed in SF during Vietnam).  Clark and Maldonado are the only two SF players I remember seeing play.  Also remember seeing most of the big-name all-stars at Wrigley... Gwynn, Kruk, Raines, and of course Dawson and Ryno.

But as for about 90% of the players in the game, I have absolutely no recollection of ever seeing them play.  Hell, I can only put a face on about 20% of the players in RBI.
